We have been clients of several years now and our animals have received excellent care from both vets, but lately the customer service portion of our experience has been less than great. I ordered special food for a kitten that had to have only that food, only to arrive and find out the wrong food had been ordered. Accidents happen, and that is fine, but the response from the front desk person was to explain the mistake and then say sorry. That was it. I drove to the next nearest vet to see if they had any of the food in stock. They did not, but the person at that front desk got out a list and called every vet office she knew was open on Saturday. The 8th office she called had the food, and I was able to go and pick it up. Their waiting room was just as busy as the one at Liberty Lake Veterinary Center, and none of my animals had ever been seen by them, yet they went the extra mile! I also had an appointment the previous week with a vet to get her opinion on an issue one of our foster kittens was having. When I made the appointment I was told there would be mean I would be charged for an office visit. I was totally fine with this as I wanted time to talk over the problem with the vet. The woman on the phone then circled back again just to make sure I knew I would be charged for the visit even if their was no exam. I AGAIN said this was fine. When I arrived, I was shown to a room, only to have another person come and make sure I knew I was getting charged for the visit. I was left feeling like they were doing me a favor or like I was trying to take advantage of the situation, neither of which was the case. If you are going to have a 10 minute phone conversation with me outlining the cost, you can at least note it in the appointment so we don't have to do another round when I get there and act worried that I am not willing to pay. The only reason this review isn’t a 1 Star is because my experience today was nothing like the excellent care I have received in the past for my Maximus. I have been taking my new 3.5 year old Boxer to liberty lake vet center since he was 9 weeks old. Prior to the appointment today the vets and vet techs have been excellent. However, we saw a new vet today for his annual visit and vaccines. Danette Roberts DVM was who we saw today. First we waited in a hot room for 30+ minutes waiting for a vet. My dog hyperventilates when he is too hot. Then once she arrived she tried to pet my dog from the top of the head. This obviously made him very nervous and he back up. Then she tried to give him a syringe of peanut butter. I am severely allergic to peanut butter so my dog does not eat this. Then when he continued to back away she tried to hand the peanut butter to me. My husband immediately chimed in and she just set the peanut butter on the counter. Then she acknowledged my husband and I and said he needs to eat less and she tired to listen to his heart and lungs by holding him down. Then she had the nerve to ask my husband to hold him down cause “he is making me nervous”. Actually Danette Roberts you were making him nervous and we refuse to hold down our sweet dog who has never been scared before. Our dog is a typical sweet boxer that loves to give kisses and is extremely well behaved. Then she asked if he had chronic ear infections cause his ears appeared red. And I said no he has never had an ear infection before, they were just red from being hot, hyperventilating, and being nervous. She just chucked and moved on. Then she was going to be done with her assessments without looking him over we brought up concerns of s bump on his eye. She then held him down yet again to look at his eye and said it’s just an allergy. And he needs to eat less. And we left. It was a horrendous experience. This doctor needs to take a class on dog behaviors and how to approach a nervous dog. My dog has never had a problem going to the vet but after this experience I will be extremely nervous taking him back and I will never let this vet touch my dog again. My dog was shut down the rest of the day. If you do go to this vet clinic please ask to see one of the other amazing vets there. Read Less

UPDATE: I have been refunded the amount for the medications, but I'm still not sure I'll be returning. This whole situation was not handled very well and something as simple as an apology in the beginning would have gone a long way. We've been coming here for years. We boarded our 2 dogs over Christmas weekend. Paid a lot just for a few days. Got them home after Christmas only to see that both had caught kennel cough. When confronted about it they admitted there was an outbreak in their facility over the Christmas weekend. They said they would waive the visit fee, but they still charged me for the medication! How ridiculous that they would charge me for meds to cure an ailment that my dogs caught while under their watch. I tried to get that waived too but they are too stubborn and my dogs needed it. Not once during my conversation did the girl at the front desk offer any kind of apology. I will not be returning here. I might have continued to come here if they had eaten the cost of the meds. So for $34.82 they lost a customer for life. Read Less

Loved the staff my dog is not the easiest puppy and is very nervous, they allowed me to be there every step of the way so he was comfortable. When I lived in Spokane, I brought my pup here after an injury to see Dr. Clark. Dr. Clark and her staff at absolutely amazing, best vet I have taken my animals too. I only wish I still lived in the area so I could still take my dog to her. She and her staff always gave lots of love for my pup and my pup loved going back to see them. Plus, they took my pup in on an emergency to get her stabilized. They also researched and got surgery quotes for me to help me decide the best treatment option for my pup. I cannot say enough good things about them! They also called to check in on my pup and sent get well cards. They also offered a lot of tips on how to keep my pup comfortable while she healed. Excellent experience with Dr. Kathleen Alby, she's a knowledgeable, compassionate professional. She helped our old Moose dog cross the rainbow bridge and the whole staff was just so great during that difficult time. ...We were very worried about our Chinese Crested and it was a Saturday. Unfortunately, our Vet was closed for the day and we felt that we had to get our pup to the Doc today. Best vet I've ever been to! My pup and I have worked with both Katherine Alley and Julie Jeckle-Clark, and both were fantastic, as well as the entire staff! We've been in quite a few times, from routine preventive care, to her spay, to when she developed a skin problem. Every single time they treated my pup with such care, were very thorough in their examinations, and followed up with us wonderfully. Her spay even had some minor complications, but Dr. Alley called me immediately following her surgery and came out to speak with me when I picked my pup up, in order to keep me informed and let me know what issues may arise. This vet is amazing! I don't think words can appropriately express how much I adore Liberty Lake Vet, especially Dr. Julie Jeckle-Clark. She has the most amazing bedside manner and really knows how to put me and my furbabies at ease. Her obvious care shines through and her ability to throughly explain what is happening makes her a hard to beat professional. Her staff is also awesome. About 5 weeks ago my 3 year old Shih Tzu could not walk, I ran her in to see Dr. Julie and right away we found a tick. She diagnosed her with tick paralysis. It is very rare but she knew exactly what it was. I just read an article about a dog in Portland with the same symptoms but they had no idea what was wrong. After a day went by they decided they had no option but to put her down, but at the last minute they found a tick. This just shows you how alert, Dr Julie that she caught it within minutes not days! Have taken my little old Snuggles in for vet problems and grooming for quite awhile now. I drive from North Spokane out to Liberty Lake because of the a comfortable and personal touch I feel Snuggles is getting while there. Nichol, in the grooming, is gentle with Snuggles and he always looks so bright and happy afterwards. I think it is an ideal place to go for both vet and grooming needs! Read Less

We moved to Spokane Valley and right away we needed a kennel/vet.  I found Liberty Lake Vet..  We have lived here only a few months and visited the Vet. Several times.The staff are really friendly and even though my dog is a barker I know she is being taken care of.  When we walk through the door they know her and call her by name.  They helped us with her weight problems, I hope I can keep it off. We sometimes feels like this is our second home with how often we have to make appointments, but they are always so accommodating, loving, and always go above and beyond. Today when I brought 2 of my 3 fur children in, my cat peed all over herself and her crate and the girls not only helped me get my pup in and out quickly but even helping clean my kitty and make her smell a little better before getting her home! Our family trusted Liberty Lake Veterinary Center with the boarding and grooming of our dog while we were on an extended vacation. I have had 2 outstanding experiences with Liberty Lake Vet in the last week. My 16 week old puppy had a vaccine reaction. I was out of sorts but, the staff stayed late on a Saturday to tend to my puppy. They didn't seem rushed and seemed to really care about my baby. Today, my old dog had a scary episode of what turned out to be vestibular problems. I called and they let me bring her in and drop her off right away since my schedule was too full to stay. They called right away with the recommendations and are so nice to let my dog stay in the doctor area instead of a kennel. It takes a lot to impress me and I am impressed with the care and service. Amazing compassionate care! My boy Bailey developed a severe nose bleed 4:30 on a Saturday night, the moment we arrived both Bailey and I were treated with such care and compassion. As Dr. Branford and I were discussing a treatment plan, Natalie was outside cleaning the back of my Jeep that was covered in blood, she even removed the blanket and washed it. We needed to transport Bailey to the ER for overnight observation, Dr. Branford made calls, consulted with Internists for the best seamless care for Bailey's needs. I have been taking Bailey to Liberty Lake Vet for 3 years, for his general health needs and grooming. This was the first time we had an actual emergency, and I am so blessed to have a relationship with this clinic. Its the little things that aren't so little that mean so much..one of the staff gave me a Liberty Lake Vet T shirt, as the one I arrived in was so stained with blood. I will wear it proudly!
