Doctor Terry is the only vet I will entrust my animals to these days. We found him after we left our pug for boarding with our previous vet and after dropping off a healthy, clean pug, we got back a filthy pug who had a respiratory infection. I did a lot of hunting on the internet and we went to him because I saw the picture on the website with his wife and pugs. It is the best decision I've ever made. He has been, without fail, kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable about my animals' needs, and has seen us through the loss of three beloved pets. Dr terry is the best. Have tried finding a vet we could trust (and see regularly) found dr. Terry and now wouldn't see anyone else. Costs are fair, dr and staff took the time to meet and understand my dog and her quirks; then did the same with our family. (After working in human care for years the best way to treat someone is to understand them). Have never seen the approach with animals but it works amazingly as I felt my dog got treated exactly the way I'd want to be treated if not better. Our 13 year old chihuahua has been having EXTRA itchy reactions to herself or something in the air this summer. So we made an appointment with Dr. Terry. He was fantastic, we brought our other 3 year old chihuahua along so she could get more used to being at the vet. Dr. Terry went above and beyond, talking about food options, diet options, medication options, going over oatmeal baths, etc, etc, etc. He and his staff were able to update both our pups with a few shots as well as get the new medication we are trying ready to go right away for us.Dr. Terry is open to all options, whatever you need to do for your dogs to make them comfortable; Dr. Terry is there to listen, confer or suggest additional options.Our dogs are always comfortable with the staff here and the staff treats our dogs great when they have to get shots. Would recommend Dr. Terry to anyone who has a dog child of their own. Thank you Dr. Terry for easing our anxiety and worry over a tumor growth and switching to a new medication to ease the itchiness of our little old lady. I don't understand why you can't get a rabies vaccination without an exam. Exams cost 42.95 and a rabies vaccination 19.95. Putting the two together puts the vaccination out of reach for some people and creates a public health hazard. Read Less

Dr. Terry is amazing! He did absolutely amazing with our dog who is very fearful. We rescued her 3 months ago and brought her in for a first visit to have her checked out. Terry spent more than an hour with us talking over different strategies to calm our dog and overcome some of the fears. We came in expecting to pay for lots of things to get done and checked etc. When we went to pay when leaving, we were told it was free since we had rescued the dog! Wow! It's my bad because I should have looked around at more places first. But I was only treated kindly the first couple times I went in with my pup. I've since switched vets to have his surgery and last cpl shots done. Some of the nurses at Animal Surgery are just plain rude, some smell like they just put out a cigarette at the front desk (and I'm a smoker). The doctors are great. But it's really hard to see a doctor. There's one really awesome nurse that runs the front desk too. She's rarely there also. Good luck! When I first got my little bundle of joy (Barney) from my breeder, I took him to the vet that I had thru my final ordeals with my beloved Joe, who died shortly after tumor surgery. Without a doubt, one of the toughest periods in my life. Long story short, the vet, who is VERY expensive, started firing up the meter, recommending costly flea treatments and shot protocols, all totally unnecessary, making me feel like their main priority was money and not my puppy's health. I quickly searched for a new vet, and with the help of Yelp found Terry's practice in Mukilteo. The reviews I read sold me immediately, and upon meeting with him and Dawn, his vet tech, I knew the choice was the right one. Terry is so good with Barney, who can be a handful, gentle and caring, never pushing expensive treatments or pills, trying to honestly give you the best care for the best price, every time. We at first purchased their puppy protection plan that provided unlimited care and shot protocol for the first 6 months, for a very reasonable rate, and during that time, was never charged for a single visit or care issue, many kudos for that alone. Just recently, when the little guy was experiencing diarrhea, instead of medications, Dawn suggested canned pumpkin, of all things, to solve the problem, and I'll be damned if it didn't work. Not many vets would tell you to buy a 39 cent can of pumpkin to solve your issue instead of a costly trip to the office. I can't recommend them enough. P.S. Don't be leery of the strip mall location, this is a first rate practice by any standard, and next door is a great little pet shop, just the place for a treat after the vet visit. Read Less

I am very pleased with Animal Surgery & Care Center! I arrived yesterday for my new puppy's appointment, and somehow when I got there my puppy was not on the schedule. She apparently was scheduled for next week. Thankfully they let me stay and they checked out my new puppy anyways. This was fantastic and I really appreciated that they stayed late to help me out. I had been to a different vet a week ago down in Renton and was not pleased with them at all. They didn't treat my puppy very well, and they had several people coming in and out. We were there for 2 and 1/2 hours and there were several other issues. Terry was very sweet to my puppy and the nurse gave her a shot like it was nothing. My puppy didn't even notice and a week ago she was screaming in the back room during a shot. Terry let me ask as many questions as I wanted whereas the last vet I went to only let me ask one question. I bought their puppy pack so I will be returning again and I hope to continue to go to this vet for my puppy. Read Less

There is no other place I would take my dogs. Dr Terry Is the best vet, and just a wonderful, good person. I've known him for 10 years. My entire family takes their animals to him. I am so thankful that I found ASCC. We switched from another clinic that was not working out for us, and we were nervous about starting with a new vet, but our concerns were easily wiped out by the friendliness, concern, and knowledgeable staff. One of our dogs is receiving on going care for an uncomfortable skin condition, and our other dog needed to be spayed and have a hernia removed. We are currently coming in on a weekly basis for acupuncture and laser therapy. Our dog is responding well to treatment, and we are so pleased to see that her comfort and health is the primary concern. If you are looking for a vet to call home, this IS the place! My 17 year old cat is what one might call a reluctant patient.  She is also my baby, therefore,  I will do just about anything for her.   As a result,  we have always had a vet come to the house.  However,  her age and growing list of medical concerns has necessitated  that my cat and I travel outside of our comfort zone and thus in search of a new doctor and clinic that can care for her growing needs.  As mentioned above, my cat is my baby, so I did my homework.   Dr. Terry came highly recommended,  and was the ONLY vet to get 100% positive ratings on all review sites.   So I bit the bullet and made an appointment.  And now here I am adding to the positive reviews.  Dr Terry did not disappoint.  We made a late appointment due to our work schedules (7:30 p.m.), and Dr. Terry and his tech greeted us warmly.   He told us that he had been there since 8a.m., and yet did not once rush through the appointment, and asked lot of questions about her extensive medical history.   He was FANTASTIC with my grouchy and terrified cat during the exam and reassuring to her worried owner.   One hour and several medical tests and x-rays later,  and he still took the time ( despite being half-hour after closing) to show the x-rays and review possible courses of treatment. Dr. Terry is awesome. He really loves the animals that come in. My 12 week old puppy came in and was trying to lick his beard (Zeus has a thing for beards) and scratched him to the point of drawing blood. He reacted very professionally and didn't even flinch. I felt SO BAD but he was great about it.Also, my breeder has a very strict vaccine policy and Dr. Terry was very respectful of following it. He gave me a lot of info on vaccinations but was very respectful of our decision to follow a vaccine system that my breeder had been testing and using for 35+ years. Very kind and professional. When our Pug, Buster, came down with some serious itchy skin and ears, we didn't know who to turn to since we were new to the area. I love Dr. Terry and his staff! We followed him from a local vet when he struck out on his own at ASCC. I was hooked when he came to my house to put down my 19 year old cat, India, so I didn't have to take her to a sterile clinic. He was so visibly sad when he had to tell us our beloved dog Rhody had developed Canine lymphoma, and when Rhody rapidly got worse, Dr. Terry went to his office on a holiday Sunday, July 3rd, to confirm Rho's tests so I could get medicine to ease Rhody's discomfort. He came to our house to put Rhody down when it was time, and got us a garden stone with Rhody's name on it. When we got our two new Monsters, Cedar and Logan, there was no doubt they would be growing up with Dr. Terry. I recommend him with confidence to EVERYONE I know with pets. I took my year old Pit Bull to Dr. Terry for the first time, I've heard so many amazing things about him from my aunt. She brings all of her animals to him an he does amazing. My dog needed to be microchipped and she had a weird rash on her tummy. I've had terrible experience with previous vets. They would always muzzle my Pit an put several leashes on her just to be "cautious" but they would have the leashes so tight that her face would turn red an she would cough after they were done. They were scared to really interact with my dog. But Dr. Terry got down on the floor an played with my dog! He gave her treats an just scratched and rubbed her the whole time he was talking to us.He gave my dog one of the best experiences she has ever had with a vet!  They even cut my dogs nails for free when she goes for a check up. He is also a vet to our dog Angel (who is missing for now) and he will be taking care of our new addition Simba. Gotta say, this would be a four star review if it weren't for the crazy cats they have in the lobby.  Sweet adult cats that have absolutely no fear of dogs.  Went right up - nose to nose - with our Great Dane puppy and started playing.  So funny to watch!Seriously though - some of the best customer service I've had in any venue in a while.  It was a first Vet visit for our puppy, and we will be coming back.  Dr. Terry spent a lot of time answering our questions and talking with us.  In addition, the clinic has a flat-rate deal where all the office visits are included (not medication, of course).  For the combo of price, service, and just plain ol' good vibes, I'd recommend ASC all the way.
