Today (6/7/18) was Nikko's first visit and I was so impressed! Thank you so much Dr. Wieringa for patiently listening to my concerns ...even though I think I talked your head off ;). I appreciate very much how gentle and caring you were with Nikko and loved the way you got down on the floor with him to do part of his exam. All the staff were very friendly as well. I never once felt rushed through and I think Nikko had a good experience too because he was calmer than I've ever seen him at our old vet. So happy I came here!!! Read Less

We are new to Maple Valley. I took our new Maine Coon kitten here yesterday to make sure she was in good health. The facility is great - it's clean and modern, and the dog and cat seating areas are separate. The staff is so nice and helpful. Just took our kitty Tom in for a nail trim and wellness check. Tom has always been an outdoor kitty and self maintaining. Since moving a year ago and becoming an indoor boy, his nails started to grow like crazy. This was our first visit here and it was so wonderful. Wilderness is the best. The doctors are knowledgeable, and kind. The technicians are sweet and caring. I brought my 11 year old Scottish terrier in for euthanasia recently because he had extensive bladder cancer. We had Dr. Tate and his technician Sarah. They made me feel like we were in good hands. I was inconsolable but they were kind and helped me in any way possible and let me stay as long as I needed. I'm thankful to have such a great veterinary hospital in our community. Read Less

First time for my Tizzy and I yesterday! They fit me in, treated my very skittish girl with kid gloves, softly talking to her and petting her and surprising to me, she began to relax a bit. They will help you do little things to keep your pet healthy to avoid problems down the road. I also appreciate their email notifications when shots are due. Took my dog there about 5pm (2 hours before closing at 7pm). The Vet sent the tech out to the car after being informed of the situation and turned us away without having the courtesy of atleast looking at my pet. We were told the vet was leaving soon and she could not be seen. My dog was bleeding badly as the tech was told and required multiple stiches. The next vet said common practice was to atleast check the animal's vital signs to see if she needed immediate attention. Judge for yourself as to the care extended or common courtesy expressed to my pet. Read Less

Was "very" hesitant and nervous about having my 15 lb. pup put under for his mouth to be cleaned and tooth to be pulled. Dr. Tate did a wonderful job at keeping "me" calm, keeping me informed during the procedure, and a called me after my sweet boy was out of surgery. Other than him being a little more "laid back" when we brought him home.... he was more like himself than I thought he would be. Very good experience here and with Dr. Tate. I have recently took my dog to this establishment, and was very pleased with the overall staff, and care that they provided my animal. The veterinarian and Veterinary assistants were very informative about the care that I need for my animal. Our first dog, Gizmo had been a long time patient of Wilderness Animal Hospital. When he was put to sleep, due to advanced liver cancer, the staff was so accommodating and understanding that we weren't just losing a dog, we were losing a family member. A week after, we received a sympathy card with heart felt apologies and a paw print from our dog, in the mail. It was beyond thoughtful. We will be customers for life. Thank you! Read Less

I went here many times, but once after my dogs visit and we were about to leave they asked if we would like his nails clipped and we said sure. They did not disclose how much it was or if it cost extra than the already initial vet visit fee. Well needless to say and 3 minutes later they clipped his nails and charged us $20. I couldn't believe the price, which made me complain and they said that they would refund us. Well they never did refund us. So I will never return to this vet again. I felt scammed. Read Less

For as long as I can remember, this has always been the vet my family has brought our pets into. From basic vet visits, to allergic reactions, to emergency surgeries; this place has not let us down. Ever since my boyfriend and I got pets we've taken them all here too, both dogs and a cat. Recently remodeled, it is a very welcoming and calm environment. The lobby/waiting area is very large, with a lot of seating. There are also many exam rooms, I think I counted 6. Calling to schedule an appointment is always done with ease, and you are able to get in fairly quick - sometimes on the same day. There is a small section of product for sale, including flea treatments, soft claws, treats and more. The doctors are always very compassionate to our furbabies, no breed judgments either (we have one pitbull). They treat them all the same! Lots of love and wagging tails. We've taken our pets here for various things; but two of the major ones were for a Pyometra surgery, and currently for a hematoma. The Pyometra surgery ran quite expensive (but it was a rather important and dangerous one). Always good about giving you information and follow ups after appointments. They also don't try to push things on you, such as our dogs hematoma - instead of jumping straight into a $800 surgery, they recommended antibiotics and steroids and a first, and cheaper, option. Seems to be working just fine.Overall, I would recommend this place for most vet needs. I would feel comfortable leaving any of my pets with these people and that they would provide adequate care to them. Read Less

Where to start?? What a great, wonderful, and professional staff. All the times that we have had to come in with the families fur babies they are always there to assist and explain with a smile on their face. Last week our family had to send our long time family pet to Dog Heaven. They were so wonderful and patient as they allowed the family to take a few last photos with him and enjoy the last minutes before he laid to rest. Yesterday the family received a beautiful card from the Vet and staff in the card was a homemade card which had our dogs paw print on it was so awesome and such a great thing to get as after the fact we had wished we would have done something of the sort.
