This is the best veterinarian office I could ever want. Everyone I've worked with is compassionate and patient, they truly care about the animals. They have everything right there for surgeries, x-rays, and lab tests with certain tests having to go to a lab like at most vets. The lobby and exam rooms are clean and comfortable, and the area in the back was clean and organized when I was back there once with a very sick pup. You can hear meadowy white noise with birds chirping in the back which I'm sure is calming for the animals back there. The doctors take time to explain things and answer questions and they do take emergencies although you should probably call ahead to be safe. The doctors themselves have called to follow up in the days after a visit, which I really appreciate. If you're looking for a place where the people care as much about your animal as you, with staff keeping them comfy and giving them love and kisses while getting the job done in a clean office they won't mind being at, this is the place for you. Everyone here is so kind, compassionate and accommodating. They treated my large potbellied pig in the back of my minivan. Gave me advice and hope when telling me my best girl had cancer and ringing me out quickly as I cried. Now they take care of our two latest rescue pups! Prices are reasonable and staff is excellent. This is a long over due review and a new review added into it.  This place rocks!  For starters they helped us with our pit bull that had cancer.  They understood the decisions we made were based on her quality of life.  They performed surgeries to remove tumors on her back leg.  Later they amputated her front leg when she had cancer in the bone.  Our dog always loved visiting with these guys and they gave her the best care.  She lived a great life as a tri-pod and her recovery was excellent.  When her cancer changed they told us it was time.  They were wonderful allowing us to be with her to the very end and sent a lovely card later.  Fast forward about three years down the road and we have moved from Mead to Fairfield, Wa.  Our six month old puppy got sick and our regular vet was not available.  We called a place close to us and they wanted to charge initial visit of $103!!!  I felt like she was just a number not a member of our family.  I did not think it over again before hoping in the car and driving the hour to take our puppy to Mt. Spokane.  Heck they weren't open yet so I had not even called them.  However, when I got in and explained the situation they had me fill out the paperwork and took her right back.  I left her there, but I KNEW I was leaving her in great hands.  I was not even back home and they had already ran a blood test and called for discussion.  Another full blood panel to check her organs and then IV's and anti-nausea medication.  They charged me the normal office visit and did not try to gouge me on the initial visit.  Our little Fiona will be just fine thanks to this team!  If you want a group that understands that to many of us these are not 'pets' but are members of our family then I highly recommend Mt. Spokane.  Thank you so much for realizing how serious this could be and taking such good care of our baby, and NOT taking advantage of the situation for unnecessary charges and monetary gain.  You never disappoint! A year and a half ago my horse had a nasty cut on his fetlock. Little did I know it was going to take months to heal on its own due to the size of the wound and the area being on a high motion area. They didn't give me any information on how to properly manage it or anything. I was stuck for several months of a non healing wound. I had to do everything on my own to get the wound to finally heal I was the one who finally got it to heal. Ok place for small pets and staff are friendly. Wouldn't recommend for a large animal. I took my dog, Bella, here to repair her aural hepatoma. The reception staff is friendly and helpful.  They were willing and able to estimate treatment prices for me.  The doctors and vet techs were also informative along the way.  They made sure to follow up on how my dog was healing, and let me know how to try to prevent a recurrence.It's also a well appointed place, set up for various types and sizes of animals. They were great.  My dog has a fatty cyst and we were worried about it.  The Doctor looked at it and thought '80%' it was a just what it was (Fat Cyst)  They didn't push for extra tests, although I got one just to be sure.  I called for my appointment and they got him in right away.  Hooked him up with his vaccinations and a solid check up. My pom/chi has been pretty sick the last 48 hrs. Constant vomiting every 3-5 mins and bloody diarrhea. I called her regular vet (who we have been clients with for 15+ years and 4 dogs) and they couldn't fit her in and to take her to the er vet. So I tried Mt Spokane Veterinary Hospital as soon as they opened and they told me to bring her right in and they would squeeze her into the schedule. Once we were there they took us directly into a room and drew her blood. Vet was in immediately after tests to let us know she has pancreatitis. She will be spending the evening with them for iv fluids and meds. I am so thankful to them for taking care of a new patient on a Saturday and being so caring. I will recommend them to all my pet parents and be transferring her file from the old vet! Read Less

I am a new client to Mt. Spokane Veterinary Hospital and brought my three cats in for their first appointment. The staff at the front desk immediately welcomed me and had all our medical information prepared from our previous clinic. Dr. Ratcliff was very professional and thorough in her examination of my pets and was very gentle and understanding with my "scaredy cat". The vitamin supplement she prescribed to help him gain some weight was available immediately and she called after a few weeks to check on his progress. I love this vet and it is the only vet I will be taking my pets to. The service is amazing and all of the staff there is very gentle with the animals and super friendly. My dog and I have been here only once, but our experience was great!.  The vet give us some noninvasive options for a bump on my dog's leg, instead of guilting us into hundreds of dollars worth of diagnostic tests (which two other vets did).  The treatment worked and my furry companion has completely recovered.  My household includes three other furry creatures, and everyone will now be going to this clinic!
