Kindness Animal Clinic

My husband and I had a very sick Chihuahua we adopted as a puppy ( large heart murmur) and was told he wouldn't live longer than 6 mths, but we were blessed with 8 whole years! The vet we eventually had to start taking him to in Pendleton,Oregon all started with him needing emergency services and the need for heart meds. We also were given a shot that we were told to always carry with us in case he had another episode..THANK GOD WE NEVER USED IT as Dr. Garver informed my husband it would've killed him and his prescribed meds were too high of a dose for his condition. My husband eventually had to bring Felony Handsome in to be put to sleep and the entire process was extremely difficult and hard as would be for any loving fur baby owner Although highly sensitive to it all and angry as well at the time there isn't any other vet we would put our trust in for all our babies needs and care. Dr. Garver and his staff are all very knowledgeable and genuinely care about their wellbeing. I've heard many negative opinions of Kindness Animal Clinic prior to our experience and even after, but now we have our own opinion which is always a positive retort. Thank you everyone at KAC! Kindess Animal Clinic is a bit of a drive, about 25 minutes for me, but SO worth it. The vet has been accredited with the American Animal Hospital Association for over 25 years, and is the nicest guy. My dog still gets into things he's not supposed to, and if I bring him in too many times in a month, he won't charge me for re-checks on his status. Not only that, but the vet techs are so wonderful to my dog that he doesn't even notice if he gets poked with a needle. I've heard people say he's overpriced, but to be completely honest, he isn't. He knows exactly what's wrong with your pet and all the possible outcomes, so you don't have to spend tons of money on random treatments that are trying to take a stab at the problem. Plus, you can send them pictures of your pet to ask if their symptoms are worthy of a vet visit, also saving you a chunk of change! 10/10 would recommend. Read Less

I have taken all of my pets to Kindness Animal Clinic since I moved to Monroe many years ago. My pets ARE my family. I have always found their care to be excellent, and the staff kind and compassionate. My dog actually loves to go in to see Dr. Garver and the staff because they always give her treats and belly rubs! I like that this clinic is AAHA certified because I know that means that must meet the highest standards. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of my furbabies! Read Less

The staff at kindness animal clinic were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. My dog had a very frustrating on going skin problem that multiple vets tried to treat, Dr Garver was able to successfully treat her and keep her comfortable while she was healing. I felt like he understood our frustration and treated her like she was one of his own dogs. I would highly recommend bringing your pet here! Read Less

As we know, all animals are different and I have a baby who does not like to go to the vet, and they do all possible to make sure his appointment is quick, comfortable and not stressful. After 3 visits and spending $450 on our dog to be treated for an unknown skin condition, we brought our pup in for a fourth time to be seen today, because the treatment given in the first 3 visits wasn't working. My husband arrived a total of 6 minutes late abd was told we couldn't be seen. As we live 30 minutes away, he asked if there was any way to be seen today because we really needed answers for our pup. He was then told rather rudely "we've already moved on to our next patient, you will need to make another appointment." Having only weekend availability, he then asked to come in next Saturday and was told our pup couldn't be seen until the 17th. A total of 2 weeks away!! Now I work in a clinic as medical assistant and more than understand the stress of keeping a doctor's schedule moving smoothly, but, I also know that we work out patients back in when their condition warrants it. I'm not sure how sick the other animals being seen today were, but your staff could have at least tried...and in the past I know they have worked with us wonderfully!! I literally have never had an issue until now!! I would have gushed about you all a week ago!! Now, I'm upset and concerned that after this many visits and the amount of money I've spent to treat my dog (with very little results mind you) that we could be so easily dismissed!!! That is just poor patient care!!! For a clinic that was highly recommended to me for their wonderful and compassionate care, I'm appalled and so very disappointed in our experience today!! My poor pup is still suffering and not only can you not find out the cause, but you obviously don't care to try!! Now I'm left with a severe financial deficit for my one income household, and have no answers to boot!!! Thanks for NOTHING!!Read Less

Our Rat Terrier wasn't feeling well this morning so we came here BC I found a coupon for a free exam because payday is still three days away. Not only did they honor my coupon, they diagnosed and treated our family pet. Then it came time for pain meds and I explained I'd have to come back on Friday. Nope....they had a coupon for that too! This will be our vet from now on. Thank you to the staff who treated us with sympathy and compassion. "Kindness Animal Clinic" has exceeded what I expected and the name fits perfect! Read Less

I have been taking my animals to Kindness Animal Clinic for 16 years, ever since we found a tiny, undernourished and sick kitten. We called our regular vet (at that time) and they were unable to even see her for a week. So we called Kindness Animal Clinic. Kindness was able to get us, who they had never met before, in for an appointment on the same day. We have never looked back. Since then, they have cared for all of our animals with the same skill and compassion as they did at that first visit. That sickly kitten is now 16, and they have seen us through several health issues to keep her as a healthy, happy member of our family. Dr. Garver is always willing to answer our questions (even when they come up after the appointment), is willing to discuss treatment options, and has never pressured us to make a decision we are not comfortable with. He has seen our family through new kittens and puppies, middle aged health concerns, and the passing of beloved pets, and has always guided us through their care with expertise and sensitivity. The staff at Kindness Animal Clinic treat my dogs like family, they know what my dogs like and dont, as well as there favorite treats. When it came time to make the painful decision to euthanize my dog Zeus, Dr. Garver and his staff helped make the painful process as easy as that situation can be. Dr. Garver and his team are absolutely amazing! Not only are they compassionate and caring, but they also understand that our dogs are part of our family and not just pets. They always take the time and listen to our concerns, recommend the approaches/treatments possible, and provide detailed information regarding options and the costs/effects of each solution. Additionally, the team goes above and beyond when it comes to scheduling appointments and emergencies. We have never had to wait long to see Dr. Garver and when our time comes, it does not feel rushed. He spends adequate time examining our dogs and resolving any issues. I feel fortunate to have such a caring and skilled veterinarian in our area. I also appreciate the care his front and back office staff provide - they are always cheerful and welcoming. And, as someone with a busy schedule, I find the texts, calls, and emails his staff sends to remind us to schedule appointments for follow up care and to confirm upcoming visits very helpful! Dr. Garver and his exceptional staff won me over with the incredible, above and beyond care they provided my beloved pit bull Clyde. From the meticulous removal of over 2400 pieces of wood when he impaled himself on a stick all the way through saying good bye to him last spring. When I adopted my Wee Beasty Tucker last week I never thought twice about who his health care provider would be, I will only ever bring my fur babies to Dr. Garver. I could not be happier about my experience! I selected Kindness Animal Clinic as it was the only AAHA practice in Monroe. I have been told this is very important - it means the practice is regularly inspected and must meet very stringent requirements. They are also a Feline Friendly clinic, again the only one in Monroe. I like that I am always able to see Dr. Garver - he knows my pets well and is very good with them, plus he is highly skilled. The whole staff is excellent and the clinic is very clean and well equipped. They were able to give me an estimate and worked with me to find a plan that fit my budget. They are into preventive care which will help me keep my pets healthy and also save money in the long run. I highly recommend Dr. Garver and Kindness Animal Clinic! Read Less

Kindness animal clinic has been by far the most thorough clinic I've taken my pets to. Their prices are par with everyone else in the area, they always provide estimates and are always available via phone when I have questions. i was warned they were expensive but when I price shopped they were cheaper if not the same price as other clinics in the area. I think people think they are pricey because they offer preventative care options instead of just sending you on your way and seeing you next time there is a problem. I think prevention is cheaper than a chronic problem or an emergency!Read Less

Great place. I have been taking my dog here for about 5 months now. They are very knowledgeable and take a really good care of my dog. They call you and check on your pet very often after every visit to make sure your pet is feeling better.  You can also send them pics and videos if you have any concern.  Would highly recommend this clinic. I stopped in here on my way over the pass. It was 70 out and I didn't want to leave my puppies in the car on a hot day because I needed to use the restroom. They watched my dogs so I could use the restroom and gave me leashes to borrow on my way over the pass and back, since I left mine I home. Above and beyond customer service for someone just passing through!! I can only imagine the top notch service we will receive returning with out pups if needed in the future!! All my babies come here...3 cats (one is asthmatic) and 1 medium dog. Both Dr. Garver and Dr. Murdoch are awesome, plus the staff here are so sweet. We recently took in a rescued cat living on the streets for heavens knows how long....declawed and dumped 9 years old sweetie....Dr. Garver and team were so wonderful with her. We have been taking our three dogs there for over 10 years. They have always been professional and kind. If we need to be seen right away they can always get us in. Dr Garver in particular is a very good vet. He may seem abrupt to some but he is always right on. If he were a pediatritian I would take my children to him. The cost is at times a little high but I would rather pay for great service than pay less for less quality work. Read Less

We adopted a 1 year old cat from Purrfect Pals.  With the adoption we received a voucher for a free vet exam.  Kindness Animal Clinic was not on the list of clinics that accepted the coupons but when I called them to ask, they said they would honor the voucher anyway.  The front desk staff was great... friendly and happy!  When I took Scarlett in we were seen right away.  They took thier time with her and told me what vaccinations needed updating and the estimated costs.  I never felt pressured to do everything immediately and I actually thought everything I was quoted sounded very reasonable.  The assistant and the vet were calm, caring and very tender towards her.  They basically handled her the way I would have.BONUS:  We had to go out of town over this last weekend and needed to find boarding for Scarlett.  I called Kindness and not only do they board her but they would play with her, weigh her and let her out to socialize with other cats that may be there.  The cost from Thursday morning until Monday afternoon was only $66.00.  I was expecting it to be much more.But... even though I am very impressed with them,  I still can't wait to pick her up from the clinic on my way home tonight!
