I'm not sure this place is actually open anymore. They still have decorations up from March and they don't have an option to leave a voicemail. Their website and their physical location do not disclose business hours and instead display alternative numbers for other vet locations. If this is the case, I'm disappointed in the lack of communication to existing customers. Read Less

Lady is a total whack. A few years back I had taken my Siberian husky in because she was having health problems. My family was horrified to hear that her diagnosis was a stomach mass and that she needed to be kept overnight or she would die. We didn't have much money but we decided to do it anyway because she was part of our family. We let her know, she said she could do the surgery and everything for ~$800, we couldn't do it. She told us she could figure out to ~$600 to save her life. We thought we'd stumbled on a miracle until we came back the next day to pick her up. The news we got the next morning was that there was no stomach mass and she had misdiagnosed her because she'd forgotten that huskies have generally tense stomach muscles. She then proceeded to tell us that while she was inside our dog, she decided to remove her entire uterus and ovaries. This information hadn't even been run by us beforehand. She just decided to remove her internal organs without permission, or even letting us know that she thought there may be a reason for this consideration. We were appalled, and if she couldn't get worse, she rings up the bill for $1,500. Our agreement was remove the stomach mass to save her life for $600, and then she removed her uterus and ovaries and charged us $1,500.Upon later diagnosis, we discovered the real problem was her liver. She was prescribed special food, but because the hours of this place are inconvenient (or at least used to be), we had asked her to give the prescription to another vet. She refused to do so, and had every excuse of why she couldn't give the prescription to another vet. We were stuck buying the prescription food from her until our dog passed. It's insane what this place put our family through. This lady will take advantage of your emotions to overcharge you. I'm never bringing any of my pets back here nor will I ever refer people. I'm not sure about this place yet. I moved to MLT from Greenwood, and wanted a local vet. I chose A Pet Care Clinic based on Yelp reviews.  I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, but I'm not certain I will come back. I haven't totally written them off yet, though.I brought my older pug dog in for an annual exam. I really appreciated how the vet got down onto the ground with him (he hates to be lifted up), even though it obviously wasn't easy/comfortable for her. She determined that my dog's anal gland was impacted, so I took him home and hot-packed it for a week. We returned and there was no change, so she felt that it must be a tumor and he would need surgery, and could potentially be incontinent (not likely, but potentially). I asked, but how do you know it's a tumor and not just a really impacted gland? She responded that either way it needed to come out, which sounds reasonable. But... just in case... I took him to his Greenwood vet. The old vet got that gland expressed in about 5 minutes and saved my dog unnecessary surgery and me $$. I don't fault her for this, though. It sounds like it was pretty badly impacted, and maybe hard to 'read.'After the initial visit, I couldn't decide if I liked this place or not. The vet is wacky and colorful, saying "asshole doctor" instead of proctologist, making off the cuff comments and jokes. Also, she said twice that she welcomes a second opinion, but that it would essentially be a waste of my money, unless I was one of those microsofties. I don't know. Not enough contact with them to really fairly rate the service. Read Less

I went here with my puppy who developed a very sever skin problem. As I continued taking my dog to A Pet Care Clinic the skin condition got worse. I was worried for my puppy naturally. I tried everything they wanted me to, because I put trust in them as professionals. During one interaction with the doctor instead of hopeful support, I received advice "sometimes we just need to let the soul free from the body" my puppy was only a few months. This was the final straw something was off with her outlook on this situation. I did research on my own for what the problem could possibly be. It sounded like it was mites. When I suggested this to the doctor she did a scraping she didn't find anything so she prescribed two different medications which were just for the skin problem and told me he doesn't have mites, but even if he did we need the skin problem to go away first. However with the research I did the mites were the cause of the skin problem so if they were left alone there was no chance to fix the skin problem. My dog had a very bad reaction from the second set of meds. Worried for the life of my puppy I brought him else where for a second opinion. At this point my puppy's skin was so bad he was dripping blood from his wounds. At 5 months he didn't play he just laid around and wasn't eating. The second opinion place found it was mites, prescribed the proper medication to the problem and insisted I go to a skin specialist to also get testing. The specialist and the new veterinary clinic has great communication with one another and solved the problem together. Thanks to their knowledge, compassion, and dedication. I now have a fully recovered 70lbs 8 month pup. I also found out the A Pet Care Clinic is very over priced. I honestly think that this doctor has become jaded, and lacks a sense of compassion. They are not up to date with the supplier they have. I also think that she is over whelmed since it's only two people that work there full time. The receptionist and the doctor. Being only two regular people that work there their communication with one another is very poor. Their posted hours of operation are not really the hours that they are there. My suggestion is to go else where this place is run down, unprofessional, desperate for pay (hence the expensive prices) and lack a genuine sense of compassion.Read Less

This was my first visit, and she will definitely be the family doc for the furry kids.  It's a small practice, just the Vet and her assistant.  I got there early, was in the room quickly, and the initial paperwork only took a few moments.  The vet is personable, easy to talk to, and was great with my cat.  She listened to my concerns and took the time to explain my options and answer all my questions.  I went home with tartar control spray, meds, and these amazing "treats" that are hollow to put a pill in so it's easier for them to take.  (My cat ADORES the chicken ones!)  She has two sweet, friendly little dogs in the office that didn't bug my cat at all and were extremely well behaved.  Everything was cozy but very clean and welcoming.  The charges were extremely reasonable.  Office visit, tartar spray, medication, AND treats was all only about $160.  She even offered that if I didn't have a scale, to drop by and they'd weigh him.  (My cat is officially chubby.) I'll be bringing both my boys to her for care.Biggest bonus? Open until 7pm Tues and Thurs, and I got in with 1 day notice. Read Less

I went here with my puppy who developed a very sever skin problem. As I continued taking my dog to A Pet Care Clinic the skin condition got worse. I was worried for my puppy naturally. I tried everything they wanted me to, because I put trust in them as professionals. My suggestion is to go else where this place is run down, unprofessional, desperate for pay (hence the expensive prices) and lack a genuine sense of compassion. See More Read Less

I have known Dr. Chris Cannon since 1987! She took over Dr. Johnson's practice first in Scriber Lake before she moved to her current location, she will always be frank with you about the price, and will try to keep the bill down too!, and she will tell you, up front, if it's really feasible to save a pet, I have trusted her with Rabbits, cockatiels, African Greys, Green Finches, and Cats, and she is always right on point with a diagnosis too! And I would NEVER take a pet anywhere else, you can never go wrong with her, she is funny, has a great personality, and you can always rely on her too! Read Less

Read Less
