Dr. Watson is good, but some of her tech and a receptionist are incredibly opinionated and rude. Some tech treats you as you know nothing and Ivonne the receptionist is the most offensive. She is not willing to listen to the client concern. The office manager never returned my call. Just to compare I called the local vet who does some holistic care and the receptionist who answered the phone is fantastic. I asked the same questions, and she was delighted to answer that. The receptionist has to be pleasant and polite because they are in the front to represent the clinic. If I need the real holistic care, I will take my dogs to my old vet even I have to drive far. We left our lab here. She was sick for days when we picked her up covered in her own feces Her face was swollen and had open sores from pushing so hard threw the cage. We were not called or told she had been stressed. The vet did return our calls and was rude and had no information to offer. She has never been the same since. I would not recommend. This vet was engaged to care for my senior female rescue lab for several months after I took her in. She was suffering ear nasty infections, and they told me they had a laser treatment they claimed would cure the problem. After 2 expensive sessions, it did nothing! Nor did any of the other treatments they recommended. I finally cured it myself by using a reviewed over-the-counter ear product that worked great. She was also lethargic and unhappy, and not eating well. So they tested her for Cushing's disease, said she was positive and put her on an expensive supplement. Her distended belly was one of their reasons. Then she came down with fleas, which I traced back to their clinic, the only place she could have contacted them. She next developed a horrible whooping cough, accompanied by regular regurgitation of copious amounts of clear mucous fluid. I returned her to this vet who examined her by taking her temperature and listening to her heart and lungs. They then told me "She isn't sick. Take her home, and if the cough isn't better in 2-3 weeks, bring her back." I knew something was very wrong with her, so I took her to another vet for a second opinion. Within 15 minutes they'd discovered she was suffering from congestive heart failure, an enlarged heart and atrial fibrillation! Her heart rate was over 300 bpm! "It sounds like she has a tennis ball banging around in her chest! Get her to the emergency vet hospital immediately!" The emergency vets told me if I'd waited the 2-3 weeks she would likely have died! They also said she didn't have Cushing's and the distended abdomen was from massive fluid build up caused by her long-term heart failure! After lots of tests and meds, she's now recovering and doing quite well. After my very poor experiences with these people, I would not recommend this vet clinic to my worst enemy! In my opinion, they are incompetent to the point of being dangerous to your pet! Read Less

After a bad experience at another boarding place in Poulsbo last summer, I was very hesitant to leave my boy. Last summer when we picked him up from a place with the initials AC, he had a skin infection, he was sick, he had barely eaten and had lost weight. He was completely fine when we had dropped him off there. He also didn't seem very happy when I picked him up. However, choosing Big Valley was the best decision! The employees there were wonderful with Dozer. They sent me awesome pictures of him playing with his new friends. He looked so happy. He was clean, as were his toys, when I picked him up. He even ate and gained weight (he's a Saint Bernard and is still growing). We are absolutely thrilled with our experience at Big Valley and will continue to use them! Thank you!! Read Less

I had given him a bath when I left and when I got him back, it looked and smelled like he had been wandering the streets for weeks. His feet were covered in pee and he was strangely very oily. 5. Since I have gotten him home, he has been listless and sleeping. When he first saw me when I picked him up at this place, his head was bowed and he looked at me like he did something wrong. I think it was because that place seemed like punishment to him. He perked up a bit and realized he was not in trouble when I finally got him to the car.
