Dr. Alias is extremely knowledgeable and gentle with our two dogs. His staff are caring and nice. He has a great team and willing to go above and beyond for our dogs. Even when I thought something was wrong with our new pup, we brought him in to ensure that he was okay; Dr. Alias reassured us that the ‘problem’ was completely natural and explain the issue while letting us go without a visit fee. They are supportive and truly care about our dogs. I couldn’t imagine a better veterinarian hospital to take our dogs/kids to.

Our cats have been patients at Cedar River AH for going on 20 years. We were very pleased with the recent services Bo received. He's a senior cat (apx. 17) with a history of intestinal blockages and surgeries (4). Last week he developed what we suspected was another blockage so it was important to have him seen right away. Past delays, before we recognized the signs, resulted in very expensive trips to the ER!
Cedar River AH was able to give him an appointment within the hour. An exam and X-ray revealed that he did indeed have a sizeable hair ball which usually indicates the start of a blockage. He was treated quickly and appropriately, thus avoiding another surgery and hospital stay.
Bo is a medium haired cat who grooms regularly, and we had been having his fur clipped into a "lion cut" since his last surgery in 2013. However, we had allowed it to grow out this winter, which was probably a mistake. Cedar River AH recommended giving him a lion cut again. By that time Bo was NOT happy and put up considerable resistance. Over several hours and with the eventual help of a mild tranquilizer, the job got done. He looks terrific and is none the worse for wear.
We appreciate the Cedar River AH staff and their patience and willingness to work with our very frightened, upset kitty. Many thanks to the veterinarian and to the groomer(s), who did an outstanding job of clipping him.

The entire staff was very nice and down to earth. Easy to talk to and were very kind to my dog. The clinic was clean, but outdated. We went in as a new client last minute due to my small dog stealing some chicken bones. They did an xray and saw that he did not have a blockage. He was dehydrated from the vomiting and diarrhea though so they gave him fluids, an injection, and a bottle of medication. We were there for a total of 15 minutes, which was nice! But that was also the quickest $350 I've ever spent. I would return though because the staff was so kind, accommodating to my last minute situation, and quick! They also have a punch card for nail trims which is nice, because we have to do it monthly.

We have been a client at Cedar River for 10+ years. In the last year, there have been changes at the clinic with Dr. Aluas coming onboard. While we have always thought Cedar River was great, I wanted to note some of the positive things we have experienced in the last year with Dr. Aluas.Our dog suffered from Cushings, now Addisons. These are difficult and expensive diseases to treat. Dr. Aluas has been great at explaining options, tests and medications. In addition, since our lab needs monthly injections by one of the techs, when we come in Dr. Aluas tries to take time out to swing by the lobby to say hi to me and our dog, and to check on how our dog is doing. The staff is also so kind to our dog when he comes in because they've gotten to know him!What is even more great is I had decided to learn to do the injections myself. Dr. Aluas was fully supportive and let me watch the techs give his injections each month even though this takes more time from their day. More recently, I ready to give him his shot myself on our visit and I did with coaching from the tech. I now have his medicine delivered to my door and I'm giving his shots! This saves me a lot of time and money and it shows that Cedar River is about doing the right thing for the client vs worrying about the small revenue lost since we don't have to come in for the monthly shot. I'm really impressed with this and recommend Cedar River highly.

While they are friendly and worked to fit me in quickly in an emergency, they ended up mis-diagnosing and mis-prescribing medication for my cat. I had to take her back twice within a few days - seeing 2 different doctors each time - the first doctor, a female, was very sweet and nice. The second doctor was a male and he handled my cat VERY poorly. He tried to drag her out of her crate using the cone on her head as leverage - literally pulling on the cone to drag her out - he was not nice or caring. The steroid cream he gave her actually made her eye infection WORSE. I spent $200 here for nothing. I had to drive 1.5 hrs to Cats Exclusive on the northside of Seattle, the vet we used to go to (and by FAR the best vet for cats in Seattle hands down.) They gave her some eye drops and she is finally getting better although I had to spend $400 total and hours of agony worried about my cat. I don't think I will ever go back.

Dr. Aluas and staff were awesome! My dog has anxiety when he meets new people and going to the vet once a year makes the situation more difficult. They provided top quality care with a calm demeanor, answered any questions I had all while smiling, which made this visit a breeze. I have 100% confidence in Dr. Aluas. He genuinely cares. Scheduling for an appointment over the phone was easy and prices are competitive. The hospital was bright and inviting, clean, and smelled nice. It has a convenient location with lots of parking. Overall, a great place.

We have been taking our 2 dogs to Cedar River Animal Hospital for a few years now and have always had great experiences there with Dr. Nicholas and the whole staff. With Dr. Aluas taking over, we have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He is a great fit for the already amazing care we have received there. We never feel rushed with Dr. Aluas, so we are able to be much better informed about our pups issues! I never feel like I'm asking him "dumb" questions. Our family had the pleasure of having Cedar River Animal Hospital care for our dog Scooter. We adopted Scooter back in 2005 and were blessed to have him with us for ten years. All that time his wonderful medical care was provided by Cedar River. The entire staff are amazing in their thoughtfulness and loving nature in which they treat their patients. I can tell you Scooter was always excited when we would put up even if he ended up getting a shot. I have recommended Cedar River to countless people and have had the same response from them, This place is amazing, the people who work there are amazing, and we finally found the right place for our pet.

I was critical of their dogged insistence that I owed them money and rather than attempting to contact me, admit that they were in error and attempt to resolve the matter they simply decided to deny any further care to my pets. Very poor business practice to treat an eight year customer's animals this way.

We have always received excellent care for all three of our kitties from the Cedar River team over the years. We recently had to say goodbye to one of our special furry family members who had developed a painful end of life illness. The staff at Cedar River were exceptionally kind and patient as we worked through the letting go process. They stayed very late to give our youngest the extra time he needed in order to deal with such a difficult loss. The vets and staff at Cedar River have kept our senior kitties as healthy as possible, also providing loving, thoughtful and excellent end of life care. Now that we've rescued another fur baby, we do not hesitate to bring her to Cedar River for check-ups and veterinary care as well. The staff is also quite attentive to human animals - meaning they always explain to us the procedures, medicine, tests, surgery, etc. they're recommending for our pets and what we can do to make their lives more healthy. While some may consider services to be a bit pricey, we're fine with whatever it takes to keep our kitty-kids well, and we're grateful.

As soon as I picked up my dog in the evening, the assistant at the front desk gave us detailed explanation about how we should take of my dog durning her recovery plus all the stuff that should and should not happen and if so, what we should do. They provided us a 24-hour phone of an animal hospital so that we could call in case of an emergency.Another thing that made me happy is that the price spent for the surgery was way cheaper than other places that I called before. My dog was feeling great just 3 days after the surgery.Recommending and returning.

New to this neighborhood and with a 6 month old black Labrador, I scoured the streets for my puppy's new vet. Yes, I could have trusted my fellow Yelpers, but I wanted to actually walk-in to locations to get a feel for what Poppy and I would be getting into. After walking in to several nearby offices, I got the best feeling immediately upon entering. Poppy's first appointment, in preparation for her spay, was for a urinary tract infection and third round of shots. As rambunctious as my Poppy Puppy was, Dr. Nicholas and team handled her professionally and courteously; I had been concerned they might kind of shove/order her around making me and her uncomfortable. That was a completely unfounded concern. They absolutely loved her and despite focusing on corralling a puppy Dr. Nicholas explained to me what he was doing the entire time. We even had a few laughs about puppy life. Poppy was at absolute ease without any anxiety.The day of Poppy's spay, the office kept me informed throughout the day. I was truly thankful for their commitment to calling me as I worried about my puppy. All went well and I haven't any complaints.(They would be a five if they were a mobile vet.)I have already scheduled her upcoming shot and have been told they are $20 each. I don't know if this is comparable and I do not care as I know my dog and I are both happy!

I've been bringing my cats to Cedar River for 18 years and the most cats I've had at one time was 5. They are always so caring and accommodating. I've recommended them to several friends, neighbors and family and will continue to do so. I feel that the doctors there have a lot of knowledge and experience and they are very compassionate. I recently had to put down one of my cats and they made a very difficult situation comforting and I have no regrets with the way everything was handled.

I've been taking my shihtzu to Cedar River since we brought him home 4 years ago. I have always been pleased with the staff - the receptionists, nurses and doctors. They always call a few days after any appointment just to see if everything is ok, and it is not too difficult to get an appointment immediately. Most memorable is the time I was referred to an eye specialist on a Saturday, and granted we had to drive to Portland due to an emergency situation, the doctor at Cedar River made the experience as simple as possible (they contacted the specialists, asked them to remain open to wait for us, printed directions and called us later that night to see how my boy was). I cringe, however, everytime it's time to pay, but I would pay any amount for my little boy (and I always believe you get what you pay for)!

Our family has taken our animals to Cedar River Animal Hospital for two generations. My parents took our dogs there growing up and I currently take my two dogs and cat. Both vets are very kind and compassionate. I have had to put down two dogs throughout the years and they made the experience as good as possible. They do not put pressure on you to get every test like some vets and they respect your decisions as a pet owner. The techs are great too, very upbeat and positive. I have reccommended this vet to several of my neighbors who all have been happy. It seems a bit pricy but aren't they all??? I would not hesitate taking your dog or cat here!

This boarding facility I have used for my Rhodesian Ridgeback several times. I kept noticing her bed we brought reaked of urine and was always smeared with feces. And my dog smelled like she was sleeping in her own mess EVERYTIME I picked her up. My husband and I would call everyday to make sure she was eating and given her toys, they constantly lied to us, we would find out when picking her up that the toys we left for her were never used (dingo's). Every day we would call, ""yes she got her dingo today"" and not one was used when we got our bag back. I have a sinking feeling my dog was abused at this place too, she has a few injuries like chipped teeth and bruises I noticed after boarding her. The Vet of this place tells us that they dont have the time to give my dog personal attention (hence the feces/urine smell) and maybe I needed to go to Petco in the future. What a dumb moron, Petco doesnt even take dogs outside to urinate. Bottom line: They can't even keep the dogs clean. Disgusting. They also will lie and tell you whatever you want to hear. You can not trust them.

I grew up with animals and love them. My two dogs ( 4 year old GSD/Husky and 6 month old small breed mix) are my children and where I take them for vet care is very important to me. (My sister is a veterinarian in Ohio.) I wanted to find a vet near my office and the Renton Highlands are a bit sketchy. I took my 6 month old puppy (small breed) to be spayed at Ceder River Animal Hospital. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The office is very clean. Dr. Nicholas is a very friendly and outgoing doctor. He just returned from a trip to South Africa where his patients included a baby hippo, a cheetah and a rhino. He addressed all of my concerns and I felt very comfortable leaving my puppy there. At the end of the day I picked up my sleepy puppy. She was spayed and they used dissolving sutures, so no need to go and have stitches physically removed. She also had two stubborn baby teeth extracted, a rabies vaccine and was microchipped. My puppy came out sore as expected, but is recovering just fine. I would highly recommend Dr. Nicholas and his team. **On a side note, while fostering a GSD for the SPDR over the summer, a team member at Ceder River Animal Hospital removed stitches for me with no questions asked on a female foster that they didn't spay. I appreciate it when those in the service industry go the extra mile like this!!

Dr. Alias is extremely knowledgeable and gentle with our two dogs. His staff are caring and nice. He has a great team and willing to go above and beyond for our dogs. Even when I thought something was wrong with our new pup, we brought him in to ensure that he was okay; Dr. Alias reassured us that the ‘problem’ was completely natural and explain the issue while letting us go without a visit fee. They are supportive and truly care about our dogs. I couldn’t imagine a better veterinarian hospital to take our dogs/kids to.

Our cats have been patients at Cedar River AH for going on 20 years. We were very pleased with the recent services Bo received. He's a senior cat (apx. 17) with a history of intestinal blockages and surgeries (4). Last week he developed what we suspected was another blockage so it was important to have him seen right away. Past delays, before we recognized the signs, resulted in very expensive trips to the ER!
Cedar River AH was able to give him an appointment within the hour. An exam and X-ray revealed that he did indeed have a sizeable hair ball which usually indicates the start of a blockage. He was treated quickly and appropriately, thus avoiding another surgery and hospital stay.
Bo is a medium haired cat who grooms regularly, and we had been having his fur clipped into a "lion cut" since his last surgery in 2013. However, we had allowed it to grow out this winter, which was probably a mistake. Cedar River AH recommended giving him a lion cut again. By that time Bo was NOT happy and put up considerable resistance. Over several hours and with the eventual help of a mild tranquilizer, the job got done. He looks terrific and is none the worse for wear.
We appreciate the Cedar River AH staff and their patience and willingness to work with our very frightened, upset kitty. Many thanks to the veterinarian and to the groomer(s), who did an outstanding job of clipping him.

The entire staff was very nice and down to earth. Easy to talk to and were very kind to my dog. The clinic was clean, but outdated. We went in as a new client last minute due to my small dog stealing some chicken bones. They did an xray and saw that he did not have a blockage. He was dehydrated from the vomiting and diarrhea though so they gave him fluids, an injection, and a bottle of medication. We were there for a total of 15 minutes, which was nice! But that was also the quickest $350 I've ever spent. I would return though because the staff was so kind, accommodating to my last minute situation, and quick! They also have a punch card for nail trims which is nice, because we have to do it monthly.

We have been a client at Cedar River for 10+ years. In the last year, there have been changes at the clinic with Dr. Aluas coming onboard. While we have always thought Cedar River was great, I wanted to note some of the positive things we have experienced in the last year with Dr. Aluas.Our dog suffered from Cushings, now Addisons. These are difficult and expensive diseases to treat. Dr. Aluas has been great at explaining options, tests and medications. In addition, since our lab needs monthly injections by one of the techs, when we come in Dr. Aluas tries to take time out to swing by the lobby to say hi to me and our dog, and to check on how our dog is doing. The staff is also so kind to our dog when he comes in because they've gotten to know him!What is even more great is I had decided to learn to do the injections myself. Dr. Aluas was fully supportive and let me watch the techs give his injections each month even though this takes more time from their day. More recently, I ready to give him his shot myself on our visit and I did with coaching from the tech. I now have his medicine delivered to my door and I'm giving his shots! This saves me a lot of time and money and it shows that Cedar River is about doing the right thing for the client vs worrying about the small revenue lost since we don't have to come in for the monthly shot. I'm really impressed with this and recommend Cedar River highly.

While they are friendly and worked to fit me in quickly in an emergency, they ended up mis-diagnosing and mis-prescribing medication for my cat. I had to take her back twice within a few days - seeing 2 different doctors each time - the first doctor, a female, was very sweet and nice. The second doctor was a male and he handled my cat VERY poorly. He tried to drag her out of her crate using the cone on her head as leverage - literally pulling on the cone to drag her out - he was not nice or caring. The steroid cream he gave her actually made her eye infection WORSE. I spent $200 here for nothing. I had to drive 1.5 hrs to Cats Exclusive on the northside of Seattle, the vet we used to go to (and by FAR the best vet for cats in Seattle hands down.) They gave her some eye drops and she is finally getting better although I had to spend $400 total and hours of agony worried about my cat. I don't think I will ever go back.

They provided top quality care with a calm demeanor, answered any questions I had all while smiling, which made this visit a breeze. I have 100% confidence in Dr. Aluas. He genuinely cares. We have been taking our 2 dogs to Cedar River Animal Hospital for a few years now and have always had great experiences there with Dr. Nicholas and the whole staff. With Dr. Aluas taking over, we have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. He is a great fit for the already amazing care we have received there. We never feel rushed with Dr. Aluas, so we are able to be much better informed about our pups issues! I never feel like I'm asking him "dumb" questions. Our family had the pleasure of having Cedar River Animal Hospital care for our dog Scooter. We adopted Scooter back in 2005 and were blessed to have him with us for ten years. All that time his wonderful medical care was provided by Cedar River. The entire staff are amazing in their thoughtfulness and loving nature in which they treat their patients. I can tell you Scooter was always excited when we would put up even if he ended up getting a shot. I have recommended Cedar River to countless people and have had the same response from them, This place is amazing, the people who work there are amazing, and we finally found the right place for our pet.

I was critical of their dogged insistence that I owed them money and rather than attempting to contact me, admit that they were in error and attempt to resolve the matter they simply decided to deny any further care to my pets. Very poor business practice to treat an eight year customer's animals this way.

We have always received excellent care for all three of our kitties from the Cedar River team over the years. We recently had to say goodbye to one of our special furry family members who had developed a painful end of life illness. The staff at Cedar River were exceptionally kind and patient as we worked through the letting go process. They stayed very late to give our youngest the extra time he needed in order to deal with such a difficult loss. The vets and staff at Cedar River have kept our senior kitties as healthy as possible, also providing loving, thoughtful and excellent end of life care. Now that we've rescued another fur baby, we do not hesitate to bring her to Cedar River for check-ups and veterinary care as well. The staff is also quite attentive to human animals - meaning they always explain to us the procedures, medicine, tests, surgery, etc. they're recommending for our pets and what we can do to make their lives more healthy. While some may consider services to be a bit pricey, we're fine with whatever it takes to keep our kitty-kids well, and we're grateful.

As soon as I picked up my dog in the evening, the assistant at the front desk gave us detailed explanation about how we should take of my dog durning her recovery plus all the stuff that should and should not happen and if so, what we should do. They provided us a 24-hour phone of an animal hospital so that we could call in case of an emergency.Another thing that made me happy is that the price spent for the surgery was way cheaper than other places that I called before. My dog was feeling great just 3 days after the surgery.Recommending and returning.

New to this neighborhood and with a 6 month old black Labrador, I scoured the streets for my puppy's new vet. Yes, I could have trusted my fellow Yelpers, but I wanted to actually walk-in to locations to get a feel for what Poppy and I would be getting into. After walking in to several nearby offices, I got the best feeling immediately upon entering. Poppy's first appointment, in preparation for her spay, was for a urinary tract infection and third round of shots. As rambunctious as my Poppy Puppy was, Dr. Nicholas and team handled her professionally and courteously; I had been concerned they might kind of shove/order her around making me and her uncomfortable. That was a completely unfounded concern. They absolutely loved her and despite focusing on corralling a puppy Dr. Nicholas explained to me what he was doing the entire time. We even had a few laughs about puppy life. Poppy was at absolute ease without any anxiety.The day of Poppy's spay, the office kept me informed throughout the day. I was truly thankful for their commitment to calling me as I worried about my puppy. All went well and I haven't any complaints.(They would be a five if they were a mobile vet.)I have already scheduled her upcoming shot and have been told they are $20 each. I don't know if this is comparable and I do not care as I know my dog and I are both happy!

I have been taking all my pets here for 3 years now and I couldn't be happier! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful and I feel confident my pets are getting the best care available here. I recomend this place to everyone I know with pets. :)

I've been bringing my cats to Cedar River for 18 years and the most cats I've had at one time was 5. They are always so caring and accommodating. I've recommended them to several friends, neighbors and family and will continue to do so. I feel that the doctors there have a lot of knowledge and experience and they are very compassionate. I recently had to put down one of my cats and they made a very difficult situation comforting and I have no regrets with the way everything was handled.

I've been taking my shihtzu to Cedar River since we brought him home 4 years ago. I have always been pleased with the staff - the receptionists, nurses and doctors. They always call a few days after any appointment just to see if everything is ok, and it is not too difficult to get an appointment immediately. Most memorable is the time I was referred to an eye specialist on a Saturday, and granted we had to drive to Portland due to an emergency situation, the doctor at Cedar River made the experience as simple as possible (they contacted the specialists, asked them to remain open to wait for us, printed directions and called us later that night to see how my boy was). I cringe, however, everytime it's time to pay, but I would pay any amount for my little boy (and I always believe you get what you pay for)!

Our family has taken our animals to Cedar River Animal Hospital for two generations. My parents took our dogs there growing up and I currently take my two dogs and cat. Both vets are very kind and compassionate. I have had to put down two dogs throughout the years and they made the experience as good as possible. They do not put pressure on you to get every test like some vets and they respect your decisions as a pet owner. The techs are great too, very upbeat and positive. I have reccommended this vet to several of my neighbors who all have been happy. It seems a bit pricy but aren't they all??? I would not hesitate taking your dog or cat here!

This boarding facility I have used for my Rhodesian Ridgeback several times. I kept noticing her bed we brought reaked of urine and was always smeared with feces. And my dog smelled like she was sleeping in her own mess EVERYTIME I picked her up. My husband and I would call everyday to make sure she was eating and given her toys, they constantly lied to us, we would find out when picking her up that the toys we left for her were never used (dingo's). Every day we would call, ""yes she got her dingo today"" and not one was used when we got our bag back. I have a sinking feeling my dog was abused at this place too, she has a few injuries like chipped teeth and bruises I noticed after boarding her. The Vet of this place tells us that they dont have the time to give my dog personal attention (hence the feces/urine smell) and maybe I needed to go to Petco in the future. What a dumb moron, Petco doesnt even take dogs outside to urinate. Bottom line: They can't even keep the dogs clean. Disgusting. They also will lie and tell you whatever you want to hear. You can not trust them.

I grew up with animals and love them. My two dogs ( 4 year old GSD/Husky and 6 month old small breed mix) are my children and where I take them for vet care is very important to me. (My sister is a veterinarian in Ohio.) I wanted to find a vet near my office and the Renton Highlands are a bit sketchy. I took my 6 month old puppy (small breed) to be spayed at Ceder River Animal Hospital. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The office is very clean. Dr. Nicholas is a very friendly and outgoing doctor. He just returned from a trip to South Africa where his patients included a baby hippo, a cheetah and a rhino. He addressed all of my concerns and I felt very comfortable leaving my puppy there. At the end of the day I picked up my sleepy puppy. She was spayed and they used dissolving sutures, so no need to go and have stitches physically removed. She also had two stubborn baby teeth extracted, a rabies vaccine and was microchipped. My puppy came out sore as expected, but is recovering just fine. I would highly recommend Dr. Nicholas and his team. **On a side note, while fostering a GSD for the SPDR over the summer, a team member at Ceder River Animal Hospital removed stitches for me with no questions asked on a female foster that they didn't spay. I appreciate it when those in the service industry go the extra mile like this!!
