Brought my kids in to look at kittens after they lost their cats in a house fire and had waited almost 2 years to get new kitties. One son picked an older kitten and the other had to look at a few as each one they gave him and he liked they would then tell him the kitten was reserved. He finally found one he wanted that they said was available and we completed the application on the spot for both kittens. After a couple days I called to see where they were on our application and they said the one kitten my son had finally picked was reserved by someone who must have gotten their application in before us. WHAT?? Then they said they would get the application done in the next day or so for the other one. I waited 3 more days to give them time even though my kids have been on me to call every single day. I just called them and unfortunately for my children, they adopted both cats out and again used the excuse that my application must have come in later. My kids are heartbroken and very upset. I guess the hour plus sitting in their stinky clinic and getting my children so excited doesn't matter to them. Read Less

I recently took my sugar glider in to be neutered and everything went smoothly! I was able to contact them via email and received a very quick response, scheduling on my end was a little tricky but they were very understanding and patient with me. Heather (? ) at the front desk was very helpful in calming my nerves as it was the first time I was leaving my baby. They kept me updated and always called when they said that they would.  And to top it off they have complementary hot beverages and little candies, this stuck out to me because arriving so early I did not have time for coffee or breakfast before dropping my little guy off. When I picked him up it was clear he was very loved while he was there.  Recovery time was minimal, he was up playing and back to his usual self the same evening. **Thank you so much for treating my little guy as if he was your only patient and not just one of many. Only picked 1 star because I had to in order to submit this review, you really get 0 from me. Your clinic has been around long enough to know better than using heating pads designed for human use, for recovering patients. Its not the 90s any more, time to catch up with the times so you don't bring reproach upon yourselves. It's 2017. Bear Huggers?? Warm blankets? Also maintaining body temperature intra-op? Properly trained techs and assistants who should be monitoring vitals during surgery. This dogs injuries and eventual death was absolutely preventable! That's as nice as I'm going to be about it. I dropped off a wild hummingbird here today which this place let die without so much as a phone call.  I dropped the little guy off this morning when they opened the door at 8am and they assured me they would transfer him to Sawyer Vet Hospital in Kent.  I offered to take him that minute to Kent and they said no, not to worry, they would take care of him. I nursed this guy all night and he was improving this morning.. I called Kent Vet at 1:10 pm and my guy had not arrived... so, i called Renton Vet Hospital to check on my guy and only then did receptionist tell me she would drop him off AFTER her work day.  (What?!! -- when I offered to get him immediate care and drive him myself!).  Everything not going as told, I called Kent Vet again at 6:25 --after their business hours and they answered the phone---and again, at 6:25pm...still, my little guy hadn't arrived from Renton Vet Clinic.  So...My friend who works nearby Renton Vet Hospital dropped by the office to find out what the heck happened to our sweet dear bird and we were informed that 'he died.'  --- no call, no nothing...all day.  I gave this place $100 donation because they assured me he would be in good care.  They didn't care for him, and didn't even care to call me either.  Horrible service. I came it at the last minute on Halloween. I'd seen the signs but never been in. They were close to closing, but my little cat had something wrong with her jaw, it looked like she'd been hit or kicked and couldn't shut her mouth right. They got us right in, the nurse was gentle and patient, the Dr. saw us quickly, he was also very gentle. He assessed her with a minimum of fuss or trauma (and she was VERY upset and in pain) and got her jaw in, was able to tell it wasn't broken, got her shots for pain, swelling and antibiotics and got us on our way in less than an hour total. He even got us better meds for our ongoing fight with ear mites that we can already tell is working. The total cost was amazingly low for a last minute visit on a holiday with shots and flea/mite meds. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get the flea/mite meds because we all know last min vet appointments are very expensive, but the cost was low enough I had plenty. The way they handled our walk in appointment, so late, so close to closing with a hurt kitty they'd never met before and how fast and cheap they got us out was amazing. They were so friendly and efficient. We're switching to them permanently. Just can't say enough good things.Read Less

I am very happy about the service that I received at the Renton Vet Clinic. My kitten broke her right femoral head the other day and was yelling in pain. It broke my heart seeing her unable to walk, eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. The vet was kind enough to move his schedule around, cancel his lunch, and squeeze in an appointment just a couple days later. She's doing so much better now and has returned to her playful, happy self. Plus they saved me over $2500 from the previous quote I received from another vet clinic. I have been going to this place for a few years. Very convent to get there. I had a geriatric golden retriever who had chronic ear infections. My sister came with me to an appointment and she brought to my attention that these people are not very nice or sympathetic.  I was grieving over my dog because I knew he was old and it was getting close. I feel like I was in denial. But she opened my eyes to the care I was receiving and my dog. Well it came to that sad day when I had to say good bye to my dear friend. The receptionist keep calling my dog "her" and my dog was very much a boy. (look at the chart and see if the dog is a boy or  girl). Especially when it is very emotional to have to put your dog down. I appreciate the time they gave me with my dog at the end but they made us wait over a hour. It was very emotional going through this already. She called my dog a girl 3 times and after the 3rd time I was so mad that she could not get this right after telling her several times. After it was done we began to leave and she said she will be ready for pick up in about a week. She is a he! Look at the freaking chartAbout a week later I received a message that my dogs ashes were ready for pick up. I go and pick up "his" ashes and had to wait in the lobby for at least 10 minutes. So after all of this it took them almost 3 months to send a sorry for your loss card. Really? I have been through this a few times and sometimes the smallest gestures mean a lot. I will not take my other dog there. I am currently looking for a new vet. Read Less

After moving up here from Ventura CA we were in the process of finding ALL new places for our family (you know how it sucks to find new hair salon, dentist, physician etc..) so when it came time to have our furkids checked out I asked around and this place came up. I took a drive by and first impression was "what the.."? Kind of tucked off Ranier Ave and needed a little paint. Our last vet, who we loved, had a fancy-schmancy office with pretty signs and fancy furniture. We have 3 rescued "gourmet" kitties and a neurotic pit bull so  need a vet who is knowledgeable AND will work with us and our oddball pack of pets. Made an appointment and got into see Dr. Brawley. Best decision we could have ever made! First off, the place is old and well worn but it is super clean. Sure it smells like dogs and various other animals, but it's a Vet office! When we met Dr. Brawley, I had to laugh. He looks just like a vet you would draw in a comic book...short, thick glasses, and twirley mustache. He has raised Persians and other gourmet kitties so he knew exactly what to do with our felines. He was funny and really talked to each cat as if it was his own. He has lots of stories and will spend time explaining things so plan on spending time there (which is a nice change from most doctors). Next we took in Soda-Pop, our dorky pit bull and I admit that I was nervous. Soda does not like everyone and you have to be gentle with her or she wigs out. To my surprise, Dr. Brawley sat down on the floor and did not force things. He knew exactly how to work with her (dare I say -a virtual Cesar Milan!) I was so impressed. We left with our pack and the bill was very reasonable. Definitely a gem along that part of Ranier avenue. I love having a vet we can trust and can call on to fit us in whenever we need something. 5 stars for sure! Read Less

The worst, the absolute worst vet clinic ever. I am new to the neighborhood and took my two older cats in ti be micro-chipped. The tech said because of my cats age, she would have the vet come in to ok it. I guess I should have asked if that was going to cost us because by the time we left two hours later, we had been charged for the veterinarians time (unwanted) and a urine test for a non-existent infection (my cat is nineteen and has been tested for peepee issues  but they declined to believe me). One of my cats was microchipped, the other was not because the vet doesn't like to microchip cats who "are going to be dead in two months anyway". Interestingly, this vet charged me 340.00 dollars for what my Seattle vet did six months prior for 125.00.  I went in expecting to spend 90 dollars to tag my cats and left feeling that my love for my cats was exploited to make them money. I will have to continue to drive my cats 10 miles farther for services in order to stay with an honest vet.  Now that I am over the horror of their successful extortion I will just accept it as an expensive lesson and never go back (or recommend it obviously). UPDATE - Won my small claims court judgment against this place on Feb 7 as a result of the incident below and, of course, they have yet to pay me. Dr. White is crazy and irresponsible! Is THIS the kind of place you want to take your precious pet for vet care? USE THIS VET AT YOUR OWN RISK! THEY DESERVE NO STARS!!! I had been taking my dog here for the past 3 years - since she was a puppy - and since she is *very* healthy, rarely needs anything but yearly check-ups. However this review is not about her; it's about a ferret this office asked me to assist them with but then turned around and charged me vet visit fees while the ferret was *temporarily* in my custody awaiting transport to a local ferret shelter AND while knowing that I am currently unemployed and have been for two months now. The details of this incident are below and will reveal how GREEDY and UNETHICAL this office is so CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!I'm known around town as "the ferret lady" because I used to own and foster ferrets and this is how I initially met Dr. Brawley. In Dec 2013, I was contacted by the office's receptionist who started pleading with me to please "help them out" with a ferret who had been surrendered to their office by a client who found it wandering in a parking lot nearby. Despite that I have two young dogs who have high prey drives, I agreed to help the office by TEMPORARILY housing the ferret until a local ferret shelter was available the coming weekend to take him permanently. AT NO TIME did I EVER assume ownership of the ferret and this was made very clear to the receptionist when I picked the ferret up that night. The following day, I discovered the ferret was dragging its back legs around and clearly needed to be evaluated before being taken anywhere else (which is the responsible thing to do) so I took the ferret BACK to the office and asked for an exam and xrays to be done so I could have a better idea of what to tell the shelter or the ferret's future new owner.IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when I went to leave the office with THEIR ferret once the exam was finished and was handed a bill for $115!! Despite knowing my unemployment status, this office had the AUDACITY to charge me for services that should have been done BEFORE THE FERRET EVER LEFT THEIR OFFICE INITIALLY but Dr. Brawley said he would kindly waive the office fee of $45 and write it off as a 'shelter ferret expense'. First of all, how unethical is that - given that it was NOT a shelter ferret and the shelter had no ties or responsibility to the ferret at that time. The receptionist demanded I make payment in full at that moment despite that I had NEVER EVER carried an outstanding bill (not even one penny's worth!) with their office in the entire 3 yrs. I used them. Regardless of the amount of the bill, it was always paid in full before leaving the office with my dog.Reluctantly, I paid the entire bill up front because by that time Dr. Brawley was busy with a patient and therefore I was unable to speak to him to clear up the confusion (and the staff refused to interrupt him for this - despite that *I* was kept waiting 25 minutes after I arrived and the entire exam kept me there 90 minutes!). KEEP IN MIND THAT LEGALLY I HAD NEVER ASSUMED OWERNSHIP OF THIS FERRET AND WAS SIMPLY DOING THE OFFICE A KIND FAVOR BY BRINGING THE FERRET TO MY HOUSE. In fact, when I brought the ferret in for the exam, it still didn't even have a name and I told the receptionist to pick a name because the ferret was 'essentially' still theirs.I have tried unsuccessfully to reach Dr. White via a letter and phone messages and will now proceed with a small claims court case to recover the money owed to me.THIS is how this office operates and treats its long-standing clients so I feel it is important for the public to know how unethical and greedy they are. YOU COULD BE THE NEXT VICTIM and there are PLENTY of other veterinarians in the area who are MUCH MORE QUALIFIED and have MUCH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE than this. Don't be fooled; this office is not doing you any favors and the bottom line is all about making money. If they TRULY cared about their clients' precious "kids", they would NOT EVER choose to sell Hill's Science Diet products because of how crappy the ingredients are! They are a sell out and YOU could be the next victim! Read Less

I have lost 2 cats at this clinic. The first was a very loving blue point Siamese. He came in with bladder issues, was hospitalized, and started getting better. We last visited with him on a Friday, then we got a call Monday to let us know he was gone. The second was a 3 month old chocolate point Siamese. He and his brother came in with bronchial issues, having a hard time breathing. A visiting vet (???) gave a very cursory check and told us it was just a cold. One of them was dead before morning. We took his brother in to another clinic, where he got a real exam, a real diagnosis, and they saved his life. The office staff was not kind to us. Wanted us to pay a very large bill without reviewing what was included (would not give us a printout until we paid). Once I paid and examined the bill, quite a few inaccuracies, so they had to process a credit. Sometimes the main office gal really was short with us. Go elsewhere. Read Less

Get good consistent services and save your pets' lives.Read Less
