Dr Iaia and his excellent staff have been instrumental in our cats' good health for nearly 20 years. Great handling of my pet. Dr. put stethoscope on table near cat while we chatted so he could feel safe when she used it. Also while chatting and getting info from me she slyly moved her hand near him so he could sniff if he wanted, and when he did they had a positive interaction while she acknowledged him. He had no prob when it was time to use the stethoscope. It was my cats first time to vet and in car with me (6 years) and we had to do Blood Draw, Fluid Injection, and Anti-Nausea Injection. I was so worried that he would lose trust in me, and maybe freak out, when I gave him up to strangers to go to another room for his treatment. So I asked if I could be present. There were no other animals there that night and they let me be with him during the draw and injections. Both technicians were professional and caring. A few days later I brought my cat back in for a fluid refill injection and because I couldn't go into the usual room they take him in, as there were animals in there, and I wanted to be with my cat, they brought the fluid bag into a private room where he got his fluid injection. This clinic will be my clinic for all my animal care now. There are many caring people who work in clinics all around our nation, but I find their bedside manner and willingness to also work with the owner open to a more 'family friendly' holistic approach. I've been taking both of my cats Oliver and Georgie here for the past four years. My experience with everyone that works at Renton West Vet has always been friendly and compassionate. The vets and the assistants always listen to your concerns and make sure to take every option to help your pet. Recently I had to make the difficult decision to lay my sweet cat Oliver to rest. Dr. Kaitlyn was so sweet and I really appreciated her compassion and thoughtfulness in what was an extremely sad and difficult day for me. Dr. Bart has also looked at both of my cats and he is also very thoughtful and willing to look at every option to help. I also appreciate the kind of nature of Kendra. She is the one I typically speak to when I call to make an appointment and in person when I bring my cat in. I moved out of the area and it was no longer practical to drive to Renton to go to the vet. I asked for a copy of the records for my new vet. I can't explain my shock and frustration to read that while under anesthesia my cat had trouble breathing. I understand there can be complications but the first time hearing about the incident. Which is important to know for future anesthesia needs. My new vet also uses way less sedation which has to be safer. I would not recommend this vet. original review After moving to the Renton area and adopting two kittens, I started looking for a local veterinarian. I read all the reviews and with my complementary first visit coupon in hand, I went to Renton West Veterinary Hospital. The reviews online were fabulous and I was already having problems with my newly adopted kittens. They were both altered the day they were adopted, after a few days I noticed some swelling at the incision site for Dorothy. I called Renton West Veterinary Hospital and they were able to get me an appointment the next day. After Dr. Bart examined Dorothy, he determined that she had a hernia and was going to need surgery as soon as possible. It would be her second major surgery in less than a week. They were comforting while explaining all of the options that I had available. It has been 4 months since Dorothy had her surgery and she is fully recovered. The staff at Renton West Veterinary Hospital care about their patients; they always remember my kids and really care about their well-being. Just saying that I would recommend Renton West to a friend does not do this veterinarian or the staff any justice. I cant imagine taking any of my furry friends anywhere else. Read Less

In addition to "normal" visits for checkups and shots, Dr. Bart has performed acupuncture on our lab that had a spinal chord injury. I have been using Renton West Vet for over 5 years. They have see all three of my animals (which all have had complex health issues). I mostly see Dr. Amanda and I adore her. She has such compassion and has been great with diagnosing and problem solving my animal's issues. When my Adara got cancer last year the entire staff was so caring and loving. Dr. Bart came out to my house to help ease her suffering and I can't thank them enough. They are very well equipped to handle lots of issues and will connect you with great specialist if needed. We are on our third dog now, other two have passed but were all treated by Renton West with much care and kindness. We have been to other Renton Vets and came away with the distinct feeling that they were always upselling meds; a rather unusual way they would approach this methodology. Would come to you at end of an visit with a "quote" for two treatments, one vastly more expensive and "recommended" by the staff. Distinct feeling that profit was as, or more important, than the animal's care. Be weary of the "free" check up offer! These experiences only made up more comfortable with the folks at Renton West. I took my cat in after she gave birth to her kittens and had the staff administer rabies and distemper vaccines as well as draw routine blood work to ensure that she was healthy. The staff was very helpful and attentive to my cat's needs. They were very thorough and made sure I understood everything that was happening with my kitty. I received a call the next day with a thorough explanation of the results of the blood work, and I was happy to find out that she was doing great! They are easy to find and the office was clean, although it did of course smell like lots of animals had been in and out of there. I would definitely take my animals there again. Read Less
