I have brought my Pitt/boxer to this clinic ever since I rescued her at 4 weeks old, and she is now almost 7. She had to go to another emergency vet on 1 occasion for stitches which was very traumatic for us.... Ever since then she has had major anxiety when I need to even bring her in for regular check ups. It gets si bad at time that as I am walking through the door, I will have to pick her up and carry her inside and she'll even climb onto my lap (@ 65 lbs). The staff will come up to and then calmly speak directly to her relax and she then feels comfy enough (usually) to walk back with them. These people are amazing with her ! I recommend this specific clinic to anyone who has a pet/family member who also has had any prior issues with other vet clinics. You are not just a number here.... They want to really get to know who each client is and explain any procedure completely in a way you can understand. What a bunch of swindlers. Why am I being charged an exam fee every single time I take my cat in for a visit? Why are you telling me I have SEVEN DAYS to get the recommended treatment before you try to charge me another exam fee? Why are the prices you quote for his flea medication that he's going to need to take monthly constantly changing according to the treatment I seek when I fill the prescription? Why can't I just buy a years supply so I only have to pay the exam fee once a year when I go to fill it?Why am I being charged an exam fee to fill the prescription at all? Why can't I be quoted for exactly the treatment I am seeking so I know exactly how much I am spending instead of sitting in the dark while you draw up some exorbitant fee sheet that I have SEVEN days to pay for before you try to charge me more money!? In my 5 years of experience with Value Pet in Renton, the entire staff, from techs to veterinarians, represent the best of compassion, competence, and consistency of care. Recently, they helped my bunny Sophie in her final day of life, offering the most compassionate, gentle and comforting care to both of us. She was given priority in triage, and everyone who touched her did so with the most incredible caring I had ever seen. I will never forget that experience, feeling blessed that Sophie was in exactly the right place when she needed special help on her final day. She was 11 years old. Two weeks later, my cat developed a sudden high fever, listlessness and refusal to eat, requiring emergency care. Following discharge from the emergency hospital, I took him to Value Pet where he was hospitalized for continued diagnostic workup and treatment. Again, the prompt, compassionate and high quality care by Dr. Kay and the staff was exactly what he needed to get him back on his feet, healthy and happy at home. If you love your pet, do NOT take them to this clinic. My poor pup got neutered here today. The doctors and staff didn't care to explain anything to me. My dog has been miserable all day and after taking his bandage off on his arm I discovered that they left the IV needle in him. I called an emergency room and they immediately took it out with no charge. They were shocked to see that the value pet clinic had left it in his arm. I'm never taking him back to this clinic ever again. They don't seem to care about the well being of my pet. Read Less

Value Pet Clinic has friendly staff and Doctors. They are knowledgeable in their jobs and obviously care about the animals they see. The prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other Vets. My senior dog, Trigger, began having grand mail seizures one night and we were terrified. We had no idea what was happening. We brought him into Value Pet Clinic first thing in the morning (he had been there before for check-ups and shots) and they got him in right away. The doctor explained our options and listened to our concerns. He prescribed a seizure medication that has kept Trigger seizure free! I bring all my animals to Value Pet Clinic and have recommended (and will continue to recommend) them to others. Read Less

I always take our dog to Value Pet clinics.. My dog need prescription good so it's so much easier just coming to his Vet for it. They are also very friendly and very gentle with my little dog. Let me start by saying that if I could give zero stars, I would. I have been coming to Value Pet Clinic for the last three years or so, and they started off great! I have three small dogs, and they have the usual small dog teeth issues the require an annual cleaning, along with water additives, dental chews, etc., which I do all of. I started going to Value Pet Clinic because it was more affordable than the other vets that I could find for doing their annual cleanings, along with needed vaccinations each year. This past November, I took two of my dogs in, and they gave me their "worst case scenario" estimate for a dental cleaning. Trying to keep that in mind, I went ahead and had both their cleanings done. When it came time to pay, I was charged the entire "worst case scenario" price, along with additional charges of about $80. My total was over $800 for both dogs! I just took my other dog in for an exam and estimate because she is due for her cleaning. I decided to come here again because I know she has the best teeth of all my dogs, and she should only require a basic cleaning. I ended up spending an hour for a shot and exam, and there were no other patients in the building being seen. The wait times have increasingly gotten longer, and longer each time I've come. When they finally brought me the dental estimate, I was floored. It was almost $800, which included a 10% discount for Dental Health month, so it would have been $880! That was the total for both my dogs a few months ago! And the doctor said today that her teeth weren't bad at all and had just a little tarter. You can imagine my surprise at this "worst case scenario" estimate for a dog that just needs a basic cleaning. And going off the history of my last cleaning, there is no way I would bring her here for this cleaning, because they charged me the "worst case scenario" last time! I have no idea why their wait times, and their prices have gotten increasingly longer over the years, but I will NOT be going back to Value Pet Clinic ever again. They need to consider a name change, because there is no Value in their Clinic at all. Read Less

I don't normally write reviews for anything....but the staff at this clinic made a very bad and sad day more comfortable. My 9 year old dog was fading away fast from something and he needed to be out of his pain. The staff and doctors let us take our time, they were very compassionate through the whole procedure. I can't believe I waited so long to give this place a review. I love Value Pet Clinic. I had a 13+ yr old diabetic cat that I had been giving insulin shots for years, he was obviously dying and needed to be made more comfortable. While we didn't have very much money they did everything they could to save our beloved cat. They even showed me how to do my own saline injections into him because we couldn't afford to put him on an IV. I've never seen another vet that was more concerned about the animals recovery vs insisting on making money. All the way up to having to put him down and cremating him we were impressed with them. Dr K is very condescending while talking to you. At one point he even quizzed me on why we don't give certain medicines to cats- Um... that's why I came to you so you could tell me what my cat needs. He also does not like cats and I don't think he knows we can hear him through the door. As for the care for my cat he was extremely rough with him he poked my cat in the eye at one point, forced my cats mouth open for an overly extended amount of time telling me to put my nose in his mouth and smell. My cat is not an aggressive cat and this was the first time he has ever hissed at and clawed at someone. I don't think I will be going back if this doctor is still there. At least he was able to tell me what was wrong and give me medicine and the nurses and other staff are amazing- one even came in and gave my cat water because the doctor was running behind - I was the first one in that morning so I don't know how he was behind already. My 3 dogs have been treated there multiple times. I found the staff friendly, informative, & professional. The front desk staff operate very efficiently, with the utmost focus on customer service. The Vets are generally very good. It is a bit of "potluck" with which Vet you will see. In my experience, all provide comprehensive, professional service. However some of the Vets there are more atuned than others in working with/approaching & as a result achieving successful exams on anxious dogs. These Vets display an awareness of dog behavior/psychology. There are some Vets there that do not seem to put stock in this approach. When I lost a dog to a fast acting blood desease, the staff at this clinic was responsive, supportive, & sincerely empatheric. Besides the "potluck" in which Vet you see, another "con" is the wait time. I am not sure if this is due to Vet staffing, inconsistent triage, or what, but when I go, there, I am ussually there for quite a few hours. Read Less

I took a puppy there to be neutered with a coupon thinking this trip might not cost me too much ... hopefully. But I was wrong !! 1st they told me I have to pay $35.00 extra because my puppy has a something different than the standard puppy ... what ... really ?? My puppy also has a not so serious ear infection. They had given me 2 different medications, I went ahead and paid for them right away. Anyway, my total bill came up to $255.00 at the end, they said my puppy has a slight ear infection ... I trusted them and handed them my credit card. Later I found out I could had saved 60% of my money if I buy the same medicine from the Internet !! I called them right away and ask why they did not give me choices before I pay for the medication, but the lady was very rude and I take it as "my lucky day" :( Will never go back there !! Read Less

I have taken my Whetta, Jasmine and Spencer here for a very long time for ALL their needs. They were at my side when my poor Whetta had to be put down and allowed me all the time I needed the room with her to grieve. They take excellent care of the two I have left and I can't say enough good about the staff. I have recommended them to several people nd will coninue to do so. Keep up the great work. I started taking my dogs to Value Pet Clinic after my regular vet office of 5 years began to charge $55 dollars just to walk in the door. Not to mention a drastic 40% increase in their fees and prescriptions. I felt desperate because I love my animals and I am a strong believer in taking good care of my animals if the need arises. So I tried out VPC and have been very pleased with the level of care both of my dogs have received. I also encouraged a friend to visit and she was also impressed with the level of care for the cost.Just a side note. If your animal requires a prescription medication for a period of time your vet will fax a prescription for you to 1-800-PETMEDS and their prices are bar none the lowest around. It may take 2-3 days for delivery, but amounts to a huge savings in precription meds needed for your animal...especially long term meds. As an example, a 30 day at the vet $18-21 dollars depending on the med can cost only $3-4 dollars online. Huge savings for all of us struggling to make ends meet.Good Luck! Read Less

We took our kitties there because of a coupon for spay / neuter, but were impressed with it's cleanness ( no urine odor !! ) and I didn't have to make an appointment for taking the cats in for their shots either ! We spent much less time waiting there than when I took my cats to a closer vet that I had an appointment at ( I was 2 hours waitng at the other place )( and that place smelled and the cats came home with fleas and eye goops from the other animals wandering around ). So I now have taken my extended family's cats to Value pet clinic. The cats have been calm because it does not smell. Read Less
