Dugan Equine Veterinary Hospital

Roy, Washington
General Info
Dugan Equine Veterinary Hospital in Roy conducts wellness visits by examining posture, flexibility, and climate timing to support active, senior, or predisposed breeds throughout Washington. The consultation begins by examining daily movement patterns through questions about climbing ability, rest positions, jump tolerance thresholds, fatigue levels, and social behavior. The head-to-tail examination process assesses numerous factors including body weight and orthopedic symmetry along with range of motion while evaluating coat health and breathing comfort together with oral condition and sensory response. The assessment of breed-specific vulnerabilities like hip dysplasia and spinal issues alongside allergies and overheating relies on both pet history and physical indicators. The range of services at Dugan Equine Veterinary Hospital includes vaccine programs alongside lab work plus lameness checks and nutritional coaching as well as dental exams and pain evaluations. Seasonal flare-ups and breed-specific risks dictate recheck timing; larger dogs experience winter stiffness while pollen-based spring flare-ups affect others and heat-sensitive breeds show exercise intolerance. Planning may include age-stage adjustments or suggestions for activity-based conditioning. Visit reports delivered to families include detailed home-based adjustments such as traction tips, harness types, temperature awareness, weight targets, and monitoring notes. Return timelines can adjust based on athletic milestones recovery tracking or weather-responsive planning for arthritis-prone or aging pets. Dugan Equine Veterinary Hospital offers Roy pet owners and those in nearby Washington areas an intricate health management framework shaped by movement timing and breed awareness.

Absolutely outrageously priced. Charged me extra because I was out of state and nickle and dimed me on every charge they could think of. Charged me $100 for a $10.50 test at WSU and $60 for a $30 test. Made me pay for a courier to get the blood to FedEx. The bill was over $200 more than the price they told me when I called them. Over $500 for a blood draw and health certificate and I don't even have the health certificate. But, they were able to get it done quickly. Read Less

I have used Dr Dugan for over 6 years now. He has overseen the breeding of my mare and the care of baby. He has helped diagnose lameness and treat it. He does annual teeth exams and floats at our barn. He did the castrations of our colts and did an amazing job, he has a new technique that limits bleeding and errors. Dr. Dugan is easy to work with and truly wants to help. He has also taken care of our cats, dogs, sheep, goats and our pig. He will tell you if something is out of his realm of expertise and not do something he isn't comfortable with and risk and animal. His office staff is excellent and knowledgable. I won't be switching vets at anytime!Read Less
