This is the same place that was previously located in Lake City.
My kitty had emergency surgery at our regular vet's clinic. He was having difficulty breathing afterward and his doctor sent us to Blue Pearl for overnight oxygen therapy, fluids, monitoring and pain management.
The intake doctor at Blue Pearl had me sign a release for treatment and a Do Not Resuscitate form when I dropped him off. I authorized Blue Pearl to treat my kitty as our vet recommended, oxygen, fluids, monitoring, and pain management. Nothing additional was needed or specifically authorized.
Overnight, Blue Pearl kept him in an oxygen tent and administered fluids, but did not provide pain medication. In addition, they performed unnecessary blood work. I repeat, they were instructed by our vet, verbally and in writing, to monitor, give fluids, manage pain and provide oxygen.
They used the medical release I signed to justify the additional costly bloodwork. The document was worded in a way that gives me no recourse. They gave me an estimate of about $800 to $1700 the night before. The actual overnight bill was just under $600. This was not necessary. This is how Blue Pearl operates. They give you a hefty estimate, have you sign a release and your bill comes out somewhere near the low estimate. The illusion that they perpetrate is that you got by cheap so you should be grateful. On top of that they mismanage your vet's directives. This has happened to me twice at their old Lake City and now at their new location in Shoreline.
Blue Pearl has a history of mismanaging doctor's orders and price jockeying with my previous cat. I went there this time not knowing it was the same Lake City clinic in a new location. I found out who they were the next morning when they called about my pickup time. The caller ID showed their Lake City information. I couldn't believe it.
When I picked up my kitty, he looked worse than when I brought him in. I thought he was dying. I paid the bill and took him back to our regular vet. The photo I added to this review was taken when I dropped him off at our vet's clinic immediately after a night at Blue Pearl. Take a good look. Our regular vet took good care of him and he's home now, recovering well.
It has been my experience that Blue Pearl takes advantage of pet owners in a time of financial and emotional duress. I believe they changed name and location to separate themselves from their history, but they mistakenly kept the same phone number.
I do not appreciate being treated this way. My total vet bills for this crisis have exceeded the $8,000 mark. I had to start a Gofundme campaign to Save Sweet Seamus. I certainly didn't need the additional expense and anxiety that Blue Pearl caused.
If you must use this clinic, please exercise caution and keep your wits about you. To see how they operate, take a moment to look at their placating replies to the people that give them poor online reviews and decide for yourself.
These are my opinions based on my personal experiences. I do not recommend Blue Pearl. Please make sure you check back and read their reply to this review. I'm sure it will be insufferable.

Two and a half hours later still no vet, i guess they triage like an ER, my dog only had a cut on his face that might not even need stitches, i gave up, hopefully my dog will be fine. We can take him to his regular vet today

Decided I needed to bring my dog in at 1:45 am because he would not sleep- something he'd eaten was making his stomach upset. They staff was absolutely wonderful. They even helped me clean the back of the car where he threw up. The facility is excellent- clean and modern. They were also very upfront about the pricing. Most importantly, my dog is fine.

Been here more times than I would like with several of my own dogs and other family and friends' pets. Every time I leave I am so grateful for the prompt, knowledgeable, and caring staff and vets. The only urgent and emergency vet I go to unless not within range. They have saved my dogs lives without a hiccup or hesitation. Cannot recommend more.

Val received us when we walked in and she took our concern seriously and professionally. She communicated very clearly. We saw our nurse, Joseph, who made us feel like we were the only dog family in the place. He put us at ease about our dog's health without making us feel like our concerns weren't valid. For the first time, I saw my dog's temperature taken without her freaking out.
We had gone to our regular clinic first, and they couldn't fit us in. Additionally, the receptionist there wasn't as knowledgeable or effective. When I finally pressed her for an emergency clinic, she recommended Blue Pearl. I'm glad she did.

We had to put down our very beloved Golden Retriever who was very old and at the end of his life. Everyone in the office was so kind to us, and the process so seem less. They kept telling us to take our time and we did. It was excruciating but the care we received made it bearable. Never did I feel rushed or traumatized. It was the most respectful peaceful end to a beautiful life, and we appreciated every kind word and acknowledgement of our grief. Thank you all so much!

Expensive but rightfully so. Some of the most professional and personal people I've met. We looked at transferring to less costly places as a way to continue treatment if Chula's health dip again. The other vets highly recommend we continue with BluePearl as they where the best to handle the situation and we do pay for what we get. The BluePearl facility where outstanding too. Not only cleaner than all the vets we visited but cleaner than many hospitals I've been to as well. I'd hate to do it again but I know where I'm going if need be.

I'd give it 2.8 stars, actually. We've had several really great experiences in emergencies with them, and they have always been really friendly and helpful. They have been our go to after hours vet for some time. But, recently we took our dog to their office, who became mysteriously ill over the course of just a few hours, on a busier night for them. When the Dr finally had time to see her, he actually ended up misdiagnosing her and sending us home with antibiotics and fluids, thinking it was a much simpler issue than it ended up being. Our dog was sick several times through the night, and in the morning her health had so deteriorated that she could barely move and her symptoms were MUCH MUCH worse than the night before. We decided to take her to our primary vet instead of back to Blue Pearl, and they diagnosed her correctly. When we told them that we had already taken our dog to Blue Pearl the night before when she had started showing symptoms, they asked if the Dr. had ordered x-rays or blood tests to make sure all the bases were covered in figuring out what was wrong. When we said they hadn't, they seemed very surprised and skeptical, and recommended we take our pup to a different 24 hour vet. At that point, our pup was seriously ill and wasn't responding to treatment at our primary vet; we were terrified we were going to lose her. We then had to transfer her to a different pet hospital for an overnight stay with 24/7 fluids to get her to start feeling better. If the Dr. at Blue Pearl had been able to correctly isolated the ailment that our pup was suffering from in the first place, it would've saved her A LOT of pain, and saved us at least $2200. We're willing to give them another chance if that time comes, but we will go into it with a critical eye.

My 16 year old dog was having severe breathing issues so I rushed her to BluePearl. I've visited the Renton hospital on several occasions in the past because of their highly knowledgeable and skilled staff. I have complete trust in their care of my pets and couldn't think of anywhere else I'd rather take them to in emergency situations. My dog make a tremendous recovery and was able to come home after 24 hours. Thank you to the entire BluePearl team for taking such great care of her! I highly recommend BluePearl to others seeking emergency care for their beloved four-legged companions!

Our regular vet is in Wenatchee, but I spend part of my time on the west side. We have been to Blue Pearl twice in the past two years, once in 2015 and again two weeks ago. Both visits were to euthanize an aging dog (one at age 15, the other at age 14) when their health declined rapidly and I couldn't get them home to their regular vet in time. The staff and dr. were absolutely fantastic both times. Very professional, yet caring and compassionate. They took us immediately from reception to a room. The procedure was explained to us, and we were given the option to spend some time saying goodbye, or to go ahead with euthanization. As we had already said our goodbyes at home, I asked that it be done quickly so they would not suffer any more and would not be afraid, and my request was respected. I highly recommend Blue Pearl.

The hospital staff at Bluepearl was the most professional, attentive, and efficient group of people I have ever met. My first visit was a consultation with Dr. Robinson in regards to a tumor we found on my dog's back. Winston had a mast cell tumor, a type of cancer, that needed to be removed asap for further testing. Because he is an English bulldog, we knew this would be a surgery with higher risks but after meeting with Dr. Robinson, we left feeling well informed and much more comfortable knowing he was in best of hands. Dr. Robinson explained the procedure in detail and answered all our questions thoroughly. Though we were unsure about another procedure he felt might be helpful, he let my boyfriend and I take our time considering every option before making our decision. During the almost 2 hour long consultation, never did we feel he was in a rush to wrap things up to move on to his next appointment and he remained available to us even afterwards in case we had any additional questions.On the day of the surgery, he called me throughout the day to give me updates on Winston and even after we had brought him home, he called to check on him and to see if we had any questions.At a time when you can easily feel like your world is falling apart, Dr. Robinson and the wonderful staff at Bluepearl helped us stay calm and well informed while looking forward to a positive outcome. I would whole heartedly recommend this hospital to anyone who has a pet they cherish and want to ensure they have the best care available.

The oncologist (Dr. Hererra) was extremely patient and helpful in making sure we were able to make informed decisions about our dog's care. They weren't ever easy decisions, but we were confident that we weren't flying blind. We eventually had to put her to sleep because there was little more we could do. The Blue Pearl staff were always friendly and compassionate, and (as another reviewer said) our experience there was about as good as it could have been, given the situation.A tip for those who are looking at potentially putting their pet to sleep: if you are able, do it at home and not at a clinic/hospital. There are many pet hospice and euthanasia options available (Blue Pearl provided a list) and it's by far a more comfortable experience for you and your pet. We chose Compassion4Paws - we took our dog out in the yard, laid down on the grass with her, and gave her the most love we could while the doctor took care of the rest. The procedure was far more peaceful and compassionate than leaving her at a clinic, and definitely less traumatic.

I am so thankful for BluePearl and the care given to my min pin Bella - on numerous occasions. The last time was a few weeks ago when I had to say goodbye. I had never been though this before and wasn't expecting to make the decision that day, although Bella was quite old and sick. Dr. Misty McNeil was the Dr. on that day. I could not have had a better experience under such sad circumstances. She was warm, patient and compassionate and helped me through the entire ordeal. About a week and a half later they called me to let me know Bella's ashes were ready to be picked up. They were in a beautiful wooden box and came with a plaster paw print with Bella's name on it. I am cherishing them. Thank you Dr. McNeil and BluePearl.

I'm so thankful for everyone at BluePearl who took great care of my baby girl after an unexpected emergency hospitalization, a 4-night/5-day stay here and a diagnosis of a disease I'd never heard of (thrombocytopenia). They were always accessible by phone when I needed info or just some reassuring words when we were separated from our pup. We could visit her at any time and they left us alone in a room and didn't bother us at all during our visits. They kept us informed of the cost each day. While we incurred an expensive overall bill, our dog survived the acute onset phase of her condition and is doing well now, when it seemed for a few days that she was not going to survive. It was so upsetting and we were so relieved when she started doing better. We were told that one of her prescriptions could be filled cheaper somewhere else and I appreciated that advice. All of the staff seemed to recognize her on our future visits and I felt that she had been well cared for during her stay there which was so helpful to see. We were also able to participate in a clinical trial here so worth checking out. Also nice that they can do certain types of x-rays without putting your animal under!

Blue Pearl Animal Hospital saved my dog's life! They were able to get her in right away, assessed, and in to emergency surgery. They called me as soon as the surgery was over and answered my calls and questions throughout the night (she had to stay the night and I kept calling to check on her). They were awesome about post surgery care and following up on test results. I would definitely recommend this place for pet emergency services.

We took our 12 year old Corgi here at our vet's request. It turned out he was in much worse shape than we thought (suspected cancer) and we made the difficult decision to put him down. Though it was a sad experience, Dr Naramor made it a lot less painful than it could have been. She was very understanding, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, and explained everything extremely thoroughly. She also gave us the confidence that we were making the right decision for our dog.Though this experience is not something that I'd necessarily want to go through again, I felt that our experience at BluePearl was about as good as it could have been, given the situation.

I just spent the whole day. The morning I had my two granddaughters who are toddlers. The staff was extremely understanding. It was one more of the worst days I've had, but the staff was wonderful. Dr Lisa was so caring and sweet. I knew Sampson was in great hands!. They kept me informed throughout his whole procedure. The building was easy to find, conveniently located, and very clean, with good parking.
The rooms are comfortable with plenty of room. The staff are courtous and friendly, the Dr's are well educated and on top of things. If you're in need, what a great place to go.I glad I did

At 1am we looked up the closest ER for our beloved dog Reilly. The closest one didn't have as high of a rating as Blue Pearl so we opted to go a little farther for better care. Which is why I'm writing a review so others in the same situation can know my experience. Our 11.5yr old Newfoundland/Retriever got very sick with in hours. When we got to the hospital they were very friendly and acted quick to get a gurney and lift with care my 130lb dog to rush into the back to run tests. Sadly we were only there 15 min when we lost our best friend. It was one of the most devastating loses to our family. In my shock and through out the brief time we were there DR Naramor was calm, to the point, came out to explain our options multiple times, and with genuine sympathy for our situation. After we lost him I couldn't have asked for better bedside manner. She let me talk,cry and go over the day's events multiple times. She said there's no rush to stay as long as I needed with Reilly (we even came back the next day to say goodbye again) and she gave me much appreciated hugs. They brought me tissues and water with out asking. Made a paw print of our boy and 2 days later we received a loving card and a donation they made in Reilly's memory. I hope your never in the same situation but if you are I hope you have the same experience. If only we had more time with our furry family. Thank you Blue Pearl for everything you did to try and save our big guy and for being there for me at a lowest moment.

Blue Pearl has been top notch, a true bright spot throughout what has been a nightmarish experience. Almost two weeks ago I brought my cat in for emergency unblocking of his bladder and ureters after my regular vet (Northeast Veterinary Hospital) had failed to address the problem and ignored me.He had to have very extensive surgery, two blood transfusions, and ended up with serious heart complications due to an underlying heart condition that had gone undiagnosed. I truly thought that I was going to lose my cat several times throughout this process and the Blue Pearl staff was very compassionate, knowledgeable, understanding and helpful at the times when it mattered most. Dr. Walker did an outstanding job on the surgery and thanks to her and the whole team my cat is healing at home, adjusting to a new normal with his heart meds. Thanks to Blue Pearl, we have more time together. I am convinced that this would not be the case had I brought him anywhere else. I am so grateful.

The ladies on the reception desk where totally amazing , however from there it all goes down hill very fast! My dog had a cough and was trying to cough something up but the vet Dr Westerhout said that he was fine nothing wrong, maybe a slight cold but he is fine and I should stop worrying. After taking my dog to the vet this morning he has been diagnosed with Bronchitis and its infectious and he is on medication now.
BE WARNED I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG HERE AGAIN, MISS DIAGNOSIS AND A TOTAL WASTE OF BLOODY MONEY

Just want to thank the staff at BluePearl for helping our family through one of the most difficult decisions we've ever had to make. Dr. Hann was an exceptional communicator and we have the utmost confidence in him. Ultimately, our aging Berner could not be saved but throughout his stay, BluePearl let us come visit for hours, kept us informed, etc. A vastly different feel than the other ER vet we had experience with in Seattle. We hope to never have to come back but if we do, we'd make the drive to BluePearl.

But late night emergencies? They suck. Waited over 2 hours and when we told the Vet the dog had bad teeth issues issues and that's why we suspected he was sick, she blew us off. Ended up taking him to another Vet and he had 5 abcessed teeth that had to be pulled and antibiotics given!!! Primadona Vets who ignore owners or feel threatened by someone who may just know what they are talking about, have NO BUSINESS BEING IN BUSINESS.

Dr Divine and team are angels. We took my cat, Paul in for lethargic behavior, and it ended up being much worse than expected. Her team helped us have five weeks with him that we likely wouldn't have had otherwise. When it was time to say goodbye, she explained everything and was extremely comforting. I don't know how I'd be able to handle the situation if he was in any other hands. They made this as easy as it could have been, all things considered. It brings me comfort knowing that if anything were to happen to my other boy, we have a safe place we would be able to go, where they would treat him like he was their own. Thank you to your entire team for everything that you do.

Tremendous experience here. I rarely write reviews on Google, but Dr. Waldrop and the other ER doctors were compassionate, warm, direct, diagnosed our kitty's issue, and discussed several options with us. Though our cat did not get better, we were so grateful for the excellent care received here. Also, the other staff was so incredibly kind throughout the whole experience.

My17 year old cat Molly was breathing really hard and I called blue pearl in Renton and they said bring her in the immediately took her in the back put her in oxygen chamber didn't exam Came back and the news wasn't good I ended up having to put my cat Molly down and they made the decision easier and we so nice and so helpful though the hole in the whole process of having her cremated and so thoughtful they even sent me a card afterwards with actual handwritten writing not some computer made card I give him a 5-star rating and I love them and I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else!!!

I took my bunny here a month ago and I'm really glad I did! This was the first time that I've ever had to do something like this and I was impressed by how everyone was super nice, knowledgeable, and showed a lot of care. It was really hard leaving my bunny there overnight but I knew she was in good hands. They even went out of their way and gave me a small pet carrier to take her home in. I definitely recommend this place.

Blue Pearl has become my go-to when I've had an animal emergency outside of my normal vet's office hours. They are the only emergency vet I've found that is willing to see exotics (rats) and the staff there have always treated myself and my pets with compassion and respect. I think they very reasonably priced for emergency care and I've never felt like I was overcharged, although they are more expensive than my regular vet. I certainly hope I don't need any more emergency vet visits anytime soon but I am very glad to have Blue Pearl around if I do. Bonus: free coffee and hot chocolate in the waiting room.

Our little dog was unexpectedly in heart failure and our primary vet sent us to BluePearl as she needed a cardiologist. They partnered closely with our primary vet as they completed their evaluation and they carefully explained everything to us as they outlined a care plan. Leaving her there overnight was followed-up with phone calls and emails regarding her progress and recovery plan. We are so happy to have her back home with us 24 hours later. While there I witnessed the staff's caring approach to other emergencies that came in the door and saw other clients confident and grateful for the care their pets were receiving. 5 stars are not enough.

We had a really great experience here. Our cat broke his leg and needed orthopedic surgery, they were able to do it the same day. Everyone we talked to and worked with there was really friendly and helpful, they kept us well informed and answered all our questions fully.
The surgery was not cheap, but it came in under the initial estimate. The doctor wanted extra follow up x-rays a few months later and they did not charge us for these. I'd highly recommend Blue Pearl.

Avoid Schreiner, and be wary of Waldrop. It's detailed, enjoy. August 9th 2016. The fight for justice has begun. I was asked by the Medical Director at BluePearl how she could help me. This was my reply (sent to her yesterday):- Dear Ms Davidow I was under the impression that I should be waiting for you to contact me from the way Elizabeths email was worded. But not to worry about that. You ask how you can help. Thats a fairly loaded question for me right now. And I have to say that you cannot directly help me at this point. But I fully intend to make certain that no other animal and no other owner should be treated the way that I and my cat have been and with that I would appreciate your assistance. Please allow me to give you the full story. Its fairly long. My cat, Rosa, was diagnosed with CKD in July 2015. She was referred to BluePearl for an ultrasound with Alan Schreiner (please do not ask me to call this man Dr as far as I am concerned he does not deserve the title as no true doctor would do what he has done, qualifications notwithstanding). Rosas primary vet, Dr X at Y Animal Hospital would also sometimes query things with him. Despite gradually worsening kidney values, Rosa did extremely well. She was proteinuric, which was managed with benazepril; however she also tended towards high potassium which caused me to query once or twice whether or not benazepril was the best medication for her. In March of this year, we tried changing up her medications to see if we could stabilize her kidney values, which had declined gradually over the months. We stopped the benazepril for 3 weeks; however, at her next check up we found that doing so had caused her albumin level to drop just below range (by 0.1) from within range so we reintroduced it as clearly she needed it. Dr X was concerned that if her albumin did not stabilize in normal range, this was going to cause her severe problems and that the loss of protein molecules through her kidneys would worsen the kidney damage. .......and then.

When someone in my apartment complex moved and left their cat to fend for itself outside I noticed it had injuries on it's face. I got the run around from so many agencies on how to rescue the poor thing. I went and got a live trap and I was able to surrender it to BluePearl so it got the attention it needed for it's injuries and when it's better it will go to a shelter. They made things a lot easier to get it to safety than any other place I was referred to.

I can't say enough good things about the folks at Blue Pearl (formerly Acces). We've had to take my dog here twice - once for a bee sting and once for a back injury - and both times everyone from the receptionist to the vet tech to the doctor were nothing but kind, compassionate, professional, and knowledgable. They take such good care of my little guy that I'd choose them as a regular vet (we also love our vet!) and the fact that they are open 24 hours gives me peace of mind - they can take care of anything that comes up with my dog, at any time. I'm so impressed with the quality of care that was provided to my dog Booger last night! I took him in because he was showing signs of severe back pain/nerve issues. The ladies at the front desk were sweet, caring, efficient, and got me in right away. Dr. Anna Moore was amazing -- super knowledgable, empathetic, and quick to formulate a treatment plan. The bill was totally reasonable, which was another pleasant surprise (based on my previous emergency vet visit experiences, I figured I was going to have to shell out a month's rent!) Overall, I'm just very very thankful for Blue Pearl -- Thank you :)

Such a friendly place. I took one of my chickens into the emergency care they provide, I came in with tears rushing down and my chick in my arms. Immediately someone rushed out to help. They asked my permission to sedate her so she'll be more comfortable. I said yes, and they took her back to examine her. The receptionist gave me some tissues and made sure I was okay. She had me fill out a form, and not even 15 minutes later I was taken back to a room. The vet came in and told me what was wrong with my sweet chick. They gave me a few options. She had a brain disease that could infect the other chickens. As I was being told my options and I was asking questions they were very honest in what would be best. She told me in great detail all about a medicine I could give her. It wouldn't cure her but would most certainly help her. I knew this wouldn't be the right choice sense there was a chance she could make the other chickens sick. After a few other options the vet and I came to a conclusion that what would be best for my chick was to put her down. It was a hard choice, but they made sure I was sure. They did it free of charge, and even wrapped her up and let me take her home so I could burry her in my backyard-which was very sweet. They took a print of her paw and said that they would mail it to my house when it was ready. A few days after I received a handwritten letter in the mail. They were saying how very sorry they were about what happened and sent their condolences. Such a sweet little family at Blue Pearl. They treat your pets as their family too.

My dog was recently diagnosed with a type of oral cancer that is usually curative with surgery. In my dog's case, this meant removing part of the jaw. I was so worried about my dog, and the surgery, and the cosmetic aspects of a surgery - that removed part of his jaw. But, DR. SPINA at Blue Pearl did an AMAZING JOB. Not only did Dr. Spina remove all of the cancer, he also did a fabulous job with the cosmetic aspect the surgery. My dog looks amazing and is eating and drinking without complication. Dr. Spina and the oncologist Dr. Herrera both also have great bedside manor. They answered all of my questions (no matter how anxious I was or strange the question) and consulted with each other about my dog's case, which is even rare for human doctors to do! The staff at Blue Pearl was also great. When I picked my dog up from a scan he actually whined for a tech after she left the room, he apparently had bonded with her earlier in the day. It felt so good to know he was well-cared for when I couldn't be with him. After having been through this type of surgery with a pet, I know how hard it is to make a decision. So, I hope that if you are in this situation and reading this that you are comforted to know how grateful I am that Dr. Spina was able to do my dog's surgery and how great everyone at Blue Pearl was with my dog! Thanks so much to Dr. Spina, Dr. Herrera, and the Blue Pearl team!

Dr. Hann and her team saved my kitty. Hands down. I am SO thankful for BluePearl on Lake City Way. Here's why:1) Great clinical knowledge. Dr. Hann and team were great about explaining my cat's condition (she had out of control diabetes and had gone ketoacidodic in addition to kidney issues and severe dehydration); they really delved in the 'why' and the 'how' of what was happening. They thoroughly answered our questions and gave us detailed differentials. They were very straightforward with us, and gave a very balanced analysis of a very serious situation. 2) Great communication/coordination. Our kitty had to be hospitalized, and we received calls twice a day about her condition. We even got her discharge summary via email, which was GREAT. They were wonderful with answering questions over the phone, and I really felt like we were kept in the loop. 3) Great customer service. Our questions were always answered accurately and promptly. Our needs were really taken into account as we planned the care of our cat. They were great at being up front about costs and why things were being done. No charge was a surprise at all. They were also so very kind to me when I was weepy and worried. They were kind when I cried because my cat was doing so poorly, and they were kind when I cried because my cat was doing so well after their care. Her diabetes has been regulated, her kidney function is greatly improved, my cat is acting like herself again, and while recovery will be a long road and we are dealing with a chronic condition, I'm watching my cat groom herself right now thanks to these wonderful people.A note on cost- our now former primary vet (we selected a new one) wanted to charge $800-$600 for an abdominal ultrasound. Our cat needed it, but BluePearl charged HALF as much. They also were great about facilitating items that could be done at home rather than having to charge us for additional services and stays that were unnecessary.I will be going straight to BluePearl for any complicating or emergency pet situations (or even second opinons). They were GREAT, and my dear kitty is alive today because of them.

Brought in my Greyhound who had scratched open the sutures on his face (our fault for taking his cone off to "give him a break" from it). He got his hind foot up, ripped the whole thing open, and had blood running down his face. On a Saturday night after 9pm. So off we went, he was seen pretty quickly (I expect to wait in an emergency room, and he was seen faster than in any human ER I've been to!). Later that night we picked him up, all stitched up again. I expected him to have a giant scar after traumatizing it like that, but it was closed so skillfully that it healed beautifully.
Also, our girl is a blood donor there, and she loves her visits- she's treated like a star every time!

WARNING!
This is the same place that was previously located in Lake City.
My kitty had emergency surgery at our regular vet's clinic. He was having difficulty breathing afterward and his doctor sent us to Blue Pearl for overnight oxygen therapy, fluids, monitoring and pain management.
The intake doctor at Blue Pearl had me sign a release for treatment and a Do Not Resuscitate form when I dropped him off. I authorized Blue Pearl to treat my kitty as our vet recommended, oxygen, fluids, monitoring, and pain management. Nothing additional was needed or specifically authorized.
Overnight, Blue Pearl kept him in an oxygen tent and administered fluids, but did not provide pain medication. In addition, they performed unnecessary blood work. I repeat, they were instructed by our vet, verbally and in writing, to monitor, give fluids, manage pain and provide oxygen.
They used the medical release I signed to justify the additional costly bloodwork. The document was worded in a way that gives me no recourse. They gave me an estimate of about $800 to $1700 the night before. The actual overnight bill was just under $600. This was not necessary. This is how Blue Pearl operates. They give you a hefty estimate, have you sign a release and your bill comes out somewhere near the low estimate. The illusion that they perpetrate is that you got by cheap so you should be grateful. On top of that they mismanage your vet's directives. This has happened to me twice at their old Lake City and now at their new location in Shoreline.
Blue Pearl has a history of mismanaging doctor's orders and price jockeying with my previous cat. I went there this time not knowing it was the same Lake City clinic in a new location. I found out who they were the next morning when they called about my pickup time. The caller ID showed their Lake City information. I couldn't believe it.
When I picked up my kitty, he looked worse than when I brought him in. I thought he was dying. I paid the bill and took him back to our regular vet. The photo I added to this review was taken when I dropped him off at our vet's clinic immediately after a night at Blue Pearl. Take a good look. Our regular vet took good care of him and he's home now, recovering well.
It has been my experience that Blue Pearl takes advantage of pet owners in a time of financial and emotional duress. I believe they changed name and location to separate themselves from their history, but they mistakenly kept the same phone number.
I do not appreciate being treated this way. My total vet bills for this crisis have exceeded the $8,000 mark. I had to start a Gofundme campaign to Save Sweet Seamus. I certainly didn't need the additional expense and anxiety that Blue Pearl caused.
If you must use this clinic, please exercise caution and keep your wits about you. To see how they operate, take a moment to look at their placating replies to the people that give them poor online reviews and decide for yourself.
These are my opinions based on my personal experiences. I do not recommend Blue Pearl. Please make sure you check back and read their reply to this review. I'm sure it will be insufferable.

Two and a half hours later still no vet, i guess they triage like an ER, my dog only had a cut on his face that might not even need stitches, i gave up, hopefully my dog will be fine. We can take him to his regular vet today

Decided I needed to bring my dog in at 1:45 am because he would not sleep- something he'd eaten was making his stomach upset. They staff was absolutely wonderful. They even helped me clean the back of the car where he threw up. The facility is excellent- clean and modern. They were also very upfront about the pricing. Most importantly, my dog is fine.

Been here more times than I would like with several of my own dogs and other family and friends' pets. Every time I leave I am so grateful for the prompt, knowledgeable, and caring staff and vets. The only urgent and emergency vet I go to unless not within range. They have saved my dogs lives without a hiccup or hesitation. Cannot recommend more.

Val received us when we walked in and she took our concern seriously and professionally. She communicated very clearly. We saw our nurse, Joseph, who made us feel like we were the only dog family in the place. He put us at ease about our dog's health without making us feel like our concerns weren't valid. For the first time, I saw my dog's temperature taken without her freaking out.
We had gone to our regular clinic first, and they couldn't fit us in. Additionally, the receptionist there wasn't as knowledgeable or effective. When I finally pressed her for an emergency clinic, she recommended Blue Pearl. I'm glad she did.

We had to put down our very beloved Golden Retriever who was very old and at the end of his life. Everyone in the office was so kind to us, and the process so seem less. They kept telling us to take our time and we did. It was excruciating but the care we received made it bearable. Never did I feel rushed or traumatized. It was the most respectful peaceful end to a beautiful life, and we appreciated every kind word and acknowledgement of our grief. Thank you all so much!

Expensive but rightfully so. Some of the most professional and personal people I've met. We looked at transferring to less costly places as a way to continue treatment if Chula's health dip again. The other vets highly recommend we continue with BluePearl as they where the best to handle the situation and we do pay for what we get. The BluePearl facility where outstanding too. Not only cleaner than all the vets we visited but cleaner than many hospitals I've been to as well. I'd hate to do it again but I know where I'm going if need be.

In my haste leaving my house, I accidentally left my wallet at home. They kept reassuring me not to worry about going back home to get it until my pooch was ok. I'd give it 2.8 stars, actually. We've had several really great experiences in emergencies with them, and they have always been really friendly and helpful. They have been our go to after hours vet for some time. But, recently we took our dog to their office, who became mysteriously ill over the course of just a few hours, on a busier night for them. When the Dr finally had time to see her, he actually ended up misdiagnosing her and sending us home with antibiotics and fluids, thinking it was a much simpler issue than it ended up being. Our dog was sick several times through the night, and in the morning her health had so deteriorated that she could barely move and her symptoms were MUCH MUCH worse than the night before. We decided to take her to our primary vet instead of back to Blue Pearl, and they diagnosed her correctly. When we told them that we had already taken our dog to Blue Pearl the night before when she had started showing symptoms, they asked if the Dr. had ordered x-rays or blood tests to make sure all the bases were covered in figuring out what was wrong. When we said they hadn't, they seemed very surprised and skeptical, and recommended we take our pup to a different 24 hour vet. At that point, our pup was seriously ill and wasn't responding to treatment at our primary vet; we were terrified we were going to lose her. We then had to transfer her to a different pet hospital for an overnight stay with 24/7 fluids to get her to start feeling better. If the Dr. at Blue Pearl had been able to correctly isolated the ailment that our pup was suffering from in the first place, it would've saved her A LOT of pain, and saved us at least $2200. We're willing to give them another chance if that time comes, but we will go into it with a critical eye.

My 16 year old dog was having severe breathing issues so I rushed her to BluePearl. I've visited the Renton hospital on several occasions in the past because of their highly knowledgeable and skilled staff. I have complete trust in their care of my pets and couldn't think of anywhere else I'd rather take them to in emergency situations. My dog make a tremendous recovery and was able to come home after 24 hours. Thank you to the entire BluePearl team for taking such great care of her! We took are dog there on an emergency when he broke his leg. They were very quick to see him and talk to us. He was an old dog with heart problems. I appreciate that they didn't make us feel guilty for not doing more test of x-rays under the circumstances. The vet explained the situation to help us make the best decision for Rufus. Our regular vet is in Wenatchee, but I spend part of my time on the west side. We have been to Blue Pearl twice in the past two years, once in 2015 and again two weeks ago. Both visits were to euthanize an aging dog (one at age 15, the other at age 14) when their health declined rapidly and I couldn't get them home to their regular vet in time. The staff and dr. were absolutely fantastic both times. Very professional, yet caring and compassionate. They took us immediately from reception to a room. The procedure was explained to us, and we were given the option to spend some time saying goodbye, or to go ahead with euthanization. As we had already said our goodbyes at home, I asked that it be done quickly so they would not suffer any more and would not be afraid, and my request was respected. I highly recommend Blue Pearl.

The hospital staff at Bluepearl was the most professional, attentive, and efficient group of people I have ever met. My first visit was a consultation with Dr. Robinson in regards to a tumor we found on my dog's back. Winston had a mast cell tumor, a type of cancer, that needed to be removed asap for further testing. Because he is an English bulldog, we knew this would be a surgery with higher risks but after meeting with Dr. Robinson, we left feeling well informed and much more comfortable knowing he was in best of hands. Dr. Robinson explained the procedure in detail and answered all our questions thoroughly. Though we were unsure about another procedure he felt might be helpful, he let my boyfriend and I take our time considering every option before making our decision. During the almost 2 hour long consultation, never did we feel he was in a rush to wrap things up to move on to his next appointment and he remained available to us even afterwards in case we had any additional questions.On the day of the surgery, he called me throughout the day to give me updates on Winston and even after we had brought him home, he called to check on him and to see if we had any questions.At a time when you can easily feel like your world is falling apart, Dr. Robinson and the wonderful staff at Bluepearl helped us stay calm and well informed while looking forward to a positive outcome. I would whole heartedly recommend this hospital to anyone who has a pet they cherish and want to ensure they have the best care available.

The oncologist (Dr. Hererra) was extremely patient and helpful in making sure we were able to make informed decisions about our dog's care. They weren't ever easy decisions, but we were confident that we weren't flying blind. We eventually had to put her to sleep because there was little more we could do. The Blue Pearl staff were always friendly and compassionate, and (as another reviewer said) our experience there was about as good as it could have been, given the situation.A tip for those who are looking at potentially putting their pet to sleep: if you are able, do it at home and not at a clinic/hospital. There are many pet hospice and euthanasia options available (Blue Pearl provided a list) and it's by far a more comfortable experience for you and your pet. We chose Compassion4Paws - we took our dog out in the yard, laid down on the grass with her, and gave her the most love we could while the doctor took care of the rest. The procedure was far more peaceful and compassionate than leaving her at a clinic, and definitely less traumatic.

I am so thankful for BluePearl and the care given to my min pin Bella - on numerous occasions. The last time was a few weeks ago when I had to say goodbye. I had never been though this before and wasn't expecting to make the decision that day, although Bella was quite old and sick. Dr. Misty McNeil was the Dr. on that day. I could not have had a better experience under such sad circumstances. She was warm, patient and compassionate and helped me through the entire ordeal. About a week and a half later they called me to let me know Bella's ashes were ready to be picked up. They were in a beautiful wooden box and came with a plaster paw print with Bella's name on it. I am cherishing them. Thank you Dr. McNeil and BluePearl.

I'm so thankful for everyone at BluePearl who took great care of my baby girl after an unexpected emergency hospitalization, a 4-night/5-day stay here and a diagnosis of a disease I'd never heard of (thrombocytopenia). They were always accessible by phone when I needed info or just some reassuring words when we were separated from our pup. We could visit her at any time and they left us alone in a room and didn't bother us at all during our visits. They kept us informed of the cost each day. While we incurred an expensive overall bill, our dog survived the acute onset phase of her condition and is doing well now, when it seemed for a few days that she was not going to survive. It was so upsetting and we were so relieved when she started doing better. We were told that one of her prescriptions could be filled cheaper somewhere else and I appreciated that advice. All of the staff seemed to recognize her on our future visits and I felt that she had been well cared for during her stay there which was so helpful to see. We were also able to participate in a clinical trial here so worth checking out. Also nice that they can do certain types of x-rays without putting your animal under!

We took our 12 year old Corgi here at our vet's request. It turned out he was in much worse shape than we thought (suspected cancer) and we made the difficult decision to put him down. Though it was a sad experience, Dr Naramor made it a lot less painful than it could have been. She was very understanding, gave us plenty of time to say goodbye, and explained everything extremely thoroughly. She also gave us the confidence that we were making the right decision for our dog.Though this experience is not something that I'd necessarily want to go through again, I felt that our experience at BluePearl was about as good as it could have been, given the situation.

I just spent the whole day. The morning I had my two granddaughters who are toddlers. The staff was extremely understanding. It was one more of the worst days I've had, but the staff was wonderful. Dr Lisa was so caring and sweet. I knew Sampson was in great hands!. They kept me informed throughout his whole procedure. The building was easy to find, conveniently located, and very clean, with good parking.
The rooms are comfortable with plenty of room. The staff are courtous and friendly, the Dr's are well educated and on top of things. If you're in need, what a great place to go.I glad I did

At 1am we looked up the closest ER for our beloved dog Reilly. The closest one didn't have as high of a rating as Blue Pearl so we opted to go a little farther for better care. Which is why I'm writing a review so others in the same situation can know my experience. Our 11.5yr old Newfoundland/Retriever got very sick with in hours. When we got to the hospital they were very friendly and acted quick to get a gurney and lift with care my 130lb dog to rush into the back to run tests. Sadly we were only there 15 min when we lost our best friend. It was one of the most devastating loses to our family. In my shock and through out the brief time we were there DR Naramor was calm, to the point, came out to explain our options multiple times, and with genuine sympathy for our situation. After we lost him I couldn't have asked for better bedside manner. She let me talk,cry and go over the day's events multiple times. She said there's no rush to stay as long as I needed with Reilly (we even came back the next day to say goodbye again) and she gave me much appreciated hugs. They brought me tissues and water with out asking. Made a paw print of our boy and 2 days later we received a loving card and a donation they made in Reilly's memory. I hope your never in the same situation but if you are I hope you have the same experience. If only we had more time with our furry family. Thank you Blue Pearl for everything you did to try and save our big guy and for being there for me at a lowest moment.

Blue Pearl has been top notch, a true bright spot throughout what has been a nightmarish experience. Almost two weeks ago I brought my cat in for emergency unblocking of his bladder and ureters after my regular vet (Northeast Veterinary Hospital) had failed to address the problem and ignored me.He had to have very extensive surgery, two blood transfusions, and ended up with serious heart complications due to an underlying heart condition that had gone undiagnosed. I truly thought that I was going to lose my cat several times throughout this process and the Blue Pearl staff was very compassionate, knowledgeable, understanding and helpful at the times when it mattered most. Dr. Walker did an outstanding job on the surgery and thanks to her and the whole team my cat is healing at home, adjusting to a new normal with his heart meds. Thanks to Blue Pearl, we have more time together. I am convinced that this would not be the case had I brought him anywhere else. I am so grateful.

My dog had a cough and was trying to cough something up but the vet Dr Westerhout said that he was fine nothing wrong, maybe a slight cold but he is fine and I should stop worrying. After taking my dog to the vet this morning he has been diagnosed with Bronchitis and its infectious and he is on medication now.
BE WARNED I WILL NEVER TAKE MY DOG HERE AGAIN, MISS DIAGNOSIS AND A TOTAL WASTE OF BLOODY MONEY

Just want to thank the staff at BluePearl for helping our family through one of the most difficult decisions we've ever had to make. Dr. Hann was an exceptional communicator and we have the utmost confidence in him. Ultimately, our aging Berner could not be saved but throughout his stay, BluePearl let us come visit for hours, kept us informed, etc. A vastly different feel than the other ER vet we had experience with in Seattle. We hope to never have to come back but if we do, we'd make the drive to BluePearl.

Ended up taking him to another Vet and he had 5 abcessed teeth that had to be pulled and antibiotics given!!! Primadona Vets who ignore owners or feel threatened by someone who may just know what they are talking about, have NO BUSINESS BEING IN BUSINESS.

Dr Divine and team are angels. We took my cat, Paul in for lethargic behavior, and it ended up being much worse than expected. Her team helped us have five weeks with him that we likely wouldn't have had otherwise. When it was time to say goodbye, she explained everything and was extremely comforting. I don't know how I'd be able to handle the situation if he was in any other hands. They made this as easy as it could have been, all things considered. It brings me comfort knowing that if anything were to happen to my other boy, we have a safe place we would be able to go, where they would treat him like he was their own. I took my bunny here a month ago and I'm really glad I did! This was the first time that I've ever had to do something like this and I was impressed by how everyone was super nice, knowledgeable, and showed a lot of care. It was really hard leaving my bunny there overnight but I knew she was in good hands. They even went out of their way and gave me a small pet carrier to take her home in. Blue Pearl has become my go-to when I've had an animal emergency outside of my normal vet's office hours. They are the only emergency vet I've found that is willing to see exotics (rats) and the staff there have always treated myself and my pets with compassion and respect. I think they very reasonably priced for emergency care and I've never felt like I was overcharged, although they are more expensive than my regular vet. I certainly hope I don't need any more emergency vet visits anytime soon but I am very glad to have Blue Pearl around if I do. Bonus: free coffee and hot chocolate in the waiting room.

Our little dog was unexpectedly in heart failure and our primary vet sent us to BluePearl as she needed a cardiologist. They partnered closely with our primary vet as they completed their evaluation and they carefully explained everything to us as they outlined a care plan. Leaving her there overnight was followed-up with phone calls and emails regarding her progress and recovery plan. We are so happy to have her back home with us 24 hours later. While there I witnessed the staff's caring approach to other emergencies that came in the door and saw other clients confident and grateful for the care their pets were receiving. 5 stars are not enough.

They were compassionate, thorough and had all meds there with follow-up care instructions. For such a traumatic situation, it was the best experience and outcome I could have hoped for.

We had a really great experience here. Our cat broke his leg and needed orthopedic surgery, they were able to do it the same day. Everyone we talked to and worked with there was really friendly and helpful, they kept us well informed and answered all our questions fully.
The surgery was not cheap, but it came in under the initial estimate. The doctor wanted extra follow up x-rays a few months later and they did not charge us for these. I'd highly recommend Blue Pearl.

Avoid Schreiner, and be wary of Waldrop. It's detailed, enjoy. August 9th 2016. The fight for justice has begun. I was asked by the Medical Director at BluePearl how she could help me. This was my reply (sent to her yesterday):- Dear Ms Davidow I was under the impression that I should be waiting for you to contact me from the way Elizabeths email was worded. But not to worry about that. You ask how you can help. Thats a fairly loaded question for me right now. And I have to say that you cannot directly help me at this point. But I fully intend to make certain that no other animal and no other owner should be treated the way that I and my cat have been and with that I would appreciate your assistance. Please allow me to give you the full story. Its fairly long. My cat, Rosa, was diagnosed with CKD in July 2015. She was referred to BluePearl for an ultrasound with Alan Schreiner (please do not ask me to call this man Dr as far as I am concerned he does not deserve the title as no true doctor would do what he has done, qualifications notwithstanding). Rosas primary vet, Dr X at Y Animal Hospital would also sometimes query things with him. Despite gradually worsening kidney values, Rosa did extremely well. She was proteinuric, which was managed with benazepril; however she also tended towards high potassium which caused me to query once or twice whether or not benazepril was the best medication for her. In March of this year, we tried changing up her medications to see if we could stabilize her kidney values, which had declined gradually over the months. We stopped the benazepril for 3 weeks; however, at her next check up we found that doing so had caused her albumin level to drop just below range (by 0.1) from within range so we reintroduced it as clearly she needed it. Dr X was concerned that if her albumin did not stabilize in normal range, this was going to cause her severe problems and that the loss of protein molecules through her kidneys would worsen the kidney damage. .......and then.

When someone in my apartment complex moved and left their cat to fend for itself outside I noticed it had injuries on it's face. I got the run around from so many agencies on how to rescue the poor thing. I went and got a live trap and I was able to surrender it to BluePearl so it got the attention it needed for it's injuries and when it's better it will go to a shelter. They made things a lot easier to get it to safety than any other place I was referred to.

I can't say enough good things about the folks at Blue Pearl (formerly Acces). We've had to take my dog here twice - once for a bee sting and once for a back injury - and both times everyone from the receptionist to the vet tech to the doctor were nothing but kind, compassionate, professional, and knowledgable. They take such good care of my little guy that I'd choose them as a regular vet (we also love our vet!) and the fact that they are open 24 hours gives me peace of mind - they can take care of anything that comes up with my dog, at any time. I'm so impressed with the quality of care that was provided to my dog Booger last night! I took him in because he was showing signs of severe back pain/nerve issues. The ladies at the front desk were sweet, caring, efficient, and got me in right away. Dr. Anna Moore was amazing -- super knowledgable, empathetic, and quick to formulate a treatment plan. The bill was totally reasonable, which was another pleasant surprise (based on my previous emergency vet visit experiences, I figured I was going to have to shell out a month's rent!) Overall, I'm just very very thankful for Blue Pearl -- Thank you :)

Such a friendly place. I took one of my chickens into the emergency care they provide, I came in with tears rushing down and my chick in my arms. Immediately someone rushed out to help. They asked my permission to sedate her so she'll be more comfortable. I said yes, and they took her back to examine her. The receptionist gave me some tissues and made sure I was okay. She had me fill out a form, and not even 15 minutes later I was taken back to a room. The vet came in and told me what was wrong with my sweet chick. They gave me a few options. She had a brain disease that could infect the other chickens. As I was being told my options and I was asking questions they were very honest in what would be best. She told me in great detail all about a medicine I could give her. It wouldn't cure her but would most certainly help her. I knew this wouldn't be the right choice sense there was a chance she could make the other chickens sick. After a few other options the vet and I came to a conclusion that what would be best for my chick was to put her down. It was a hard choice, but they made sure I was sure. They did it free of charge, and even wrapped her up and let me take her home so I could burry her in my backyard-which was very sweet. They took a print of her paw and said that they would mail it to my house when it was ready. A few days after I received a handwritten letter in the mail. They were saying how very sorry they were about what happened and sent their condolences. Such a sweet little family at Blue Pearl. They treat your pets as their family too.

The staff there treated me like they knew my cat her whole life, and like they were my friends. This was my first time ever there! My dog was recently diagnosed with a type of oral cancer that is usually curative with surgery. In my dog's case, this meant removing part of the jaw. I was so worried about my dog, and the surgery, and the cosmetic aspects of a surgery - that removed part of his jaw. But, DR. SPINA at Blue Pearl did an AMAZING JOB. Not only did Dr. Spina remove all of the cancer, he also did a fabulous job with the cosmetic aspect the surgery. My dog looks amazing and is eating and drinking without complication. Dr. Spina and the oncologist Dr. Herrera both also have great bedside manor. They answered all of my questions (no matter how anxious I was or strange the question) and consulted with each other about my dog's case, which is even rare for human doctors to do! The staff at Blue Pearl was also great. When I picked my dog up from a scan he actually whined for a tech after she left the room, he apparently had bonded with her earlier in the day. It felt so good to know he was well-cared for when I couldn't be with him. After having been through this type of surgery with a pet, I know how hard it is to make a decision. So, I hope that if you are in this situation and reading this that you are comforted to know how grateful I am that Dr. Spina was able to do my dog's surgery and how great everyone at Blue Pearl was with my dog! Dr. Hann and her team saved my kitty. Hands down. I am SO thankful for BluePearl on Lake City Way. Here's why:1) Great clinical knowledge. Dr. Hann and team were great about explaining my cat's condition (she had out of control diabetes and had gone ketoacidodic in addition to kidney issues and severe dehydration); they really delved in the 'why' and the 'how' of what was happening. They thoroughly answered our questions and gave us detailed differentials. They were very straightforward with us, and gave a very balanced analysis of a very serious situation. 2) Great communication/coordination. Our kitty had to be hospitalized, and we received calls twice a day about her condition. We even got her discharge summary via email, which was GREAT. They were wonderful with answering questions over the phone, and I really felt like we were kept in the loop. 3) Great customer service. Our questions were always answered accurately and promptly. Our needs were really taken into account as we planned the care of our cat. They were great at being up front about costs and why things were being done. No charge was a surprise at all. They were also so very kind to me when I was weepy and worried. They were kind when I cried because my cat was doing so poorly, and they were kind when I cried because my cat was doing so well after their care. Her diabetes has been regulated, her kidney function is greatly improved, my cat is acting like herself again, and while recovery will be a long road and we are dealing with a chronic condition, I'm watching my cat groom herself right now thanks to these wonderful people.A note on cost- our now former primary vet (we selected a new one) wanted to charge $800-$600 for an abdominal ultrasound. Our cat needed it, but BluePearl charged HALF as much. They also were great about facilitating items that could be done at home rather than having to charge us for additional services and stays that were unnecessary.I will be going straight to BluePearl for any complicating or emergency pet situations (or even second opinons). They were GREAT, and my dear kitty is alive today because of them.

Brought in my Greyhound who had scratched open the sutures on his face (our fault for taking his cone off to "give him a break" from it). He got his hind foot up, ripped the whole thing open, and had blood running down his face. On a Saturday night after 9pm. So off we went, he was seen pretty quickly (I expect to wait in an emergency room, and he was seen faster than in any human ER I've been to!). Later that night we picked him up, all stitched up again. I expected him to have a giant scar after traumatizing it like that, but it was closed so skillfully that it healed beautifully.
Also, our girl is a blood donor there, and she loves her visits- she's treated like a star every time!
