This is a really hard one to write, but only because of one vet. Dr. Weiser was the vet for our beloved family member, Moose, who passed away at age 15. Dr. Weiser was always there for us and Moose, recommending as many treatments and alternate treatments as she could as he got up there in years. She never failed to follow up with us, even if it was a weekend or well beyond working hours. She knew all 3 of us very well, and on the day we knew it was Moose's last, there wasn't another vet we would have trusted to help him cross the Rainbow Bridge. That being said, we came back with our other Labrador and new puppy a few times a couple months later, and it's as if the office was completely changed. Suddenly, there were 3 new vets and we weren't being booked with Dr. Weiser, even when we'd asked for her specifically. The most disappointing part was that Carkeek has been purchased by Banfield. Despite having been loyal customers for 5 1/2 years, we weren't notified of this change, and instead I was just asked to sign a policy stating that I agreed with Banfield's policy. I adamantly DO NOT- I've heard way too many stories of mistreatment, poor medical treatment, and all around cut corners and cheap treatment from Banfield.I expressed my unhappiness at the sudden change, and in return, the staff member at the desk immediately tried to sell me a "wellness plan" that I would pay monthly - of course, it was a Banfield plan. When I once again stated that I wasn't interested in anything to do with Banfield, the office manager was brought in. She put me on the spot and told me to tell her about my "problem" with the change. Awkward. As if all of that wasn't enough, the vet we saw was condescending and inexperienced. She handled our 4-month old puppy roughly, talked down to me when he didn't react well (because holding a dog off the ground and shoving a hand in his mouth should have no reaction, apparently), and dismissed any questions I tried to ask - specifically, how much to increase his feeding as he got bigger ("you're feeding him enough").We had brought our dog in for shots, which used to be a quick, 10 minute procedure that didn't cost an office visit. Now, the vet insists on seeing them and charging $70, even if the visit isn't necessary. At least the fee was waived for this time, but the damage has already been done. We've seen so many vets cycle through Carkeek, and while we're incredibly disappointed to have to leave Dr. Weiser, there's far too many negatives for us to consider coming back. I can't recommend Carkeek Vet any longer. Read Less
