Cat Clinic Of Seattle

Seattle, Washington
General Info
Seattle pet owners depend on the Cat Clinic of Seattle to transform routine disruptions and minor health concerns into practical care solutions throughout Washington. An initial consultation usually starts with a broad discussion where changes and consistencies are examined alongside how the pet integrates into family dynamics. Examinations assess physical condition oral health respiratory rhythm skin and joint flexibility along with any changes in posture or temperament. Veterinarians examine symptoms such as itching and toy disinterest alongside slower movement and appetite changes to establish initial care priorities. The Cat Clinic of Seattle provides an array of services including vaccinations diagnostics allergy and skin support senior pet planning dental evaluations and breed-specific risk assessments. Recommendations are timed to align with owner availability and pet behavior—for example, staggering care across busy months or syncing treatment with activity patterns. Seasonality along with housing setup and diet trends receive attention while social interactions especially for pets in homes with children or senior animals are considered. Structured plans depend on pet needs and family capabilities while adjusting for behavioral signals, medication reactions, and energy levels over time. Frequent veterinary appointments enable the adjustment of healthcare suggestions while detecting overlooked indicators and providing pet owners with clear management tools to avoid confusion and eliminate guesswork. Cat Clinic of Seattle assists pet families across Seattle and Washington to develop confidence through all care stages by establishing routines that initiate early response and adapt progressively.

Long story short: My kitten has runny eyes, nose, and has been having diarrhea for the past month and a half since we got him. 4 vet visits at 4 different veterinarians in 2 different states, each $200+ later, he isn't any better. Each one gave us little to no help and did not improve the state of my kitten. Then finally, I was recommended by another vet office in Seattle to come to the Cat Clinic of Seattle. The staff and clinic environment: My fiancé and I live two hours away from Seattle so during our drive over, the little guy peed in his carrier. But once we arrived the receptionist kindly offered to clean both the carrier and Milo. I was so surprised at how pleasant she was! The technicians were just as sweet and pleasant to speak with as well. The atmosphere here is also very calm, which may be nice for those who have nervous cats. The doctor: We had a 1 hour consultation because Milo's case was quite concerning and we wanted to make sure we thoroughly discussed our concerns as well as options for treatment. The doctor we had is SO knowledgable about cats, and even that is an understatement. He is well up to date on the latest research and would discuss with us the supporting details to each of the treatments he offered. This gave us a piece of mind since we are both researchers and tend to be at ease with supporting evidence. He took his time to address each of our concerns and ideas of what may be causing Milo's condition. Then he laid out a very intricate plan, both short term and long term, and let us know what to expect from each objective set. Closing: We left feeling more confident and at ease. The doctor provided us medication as well as probiotics, and a prescription diet to help with his inflamed intestines, and a prescription note so that we may purchase more probiotics once we are out of the pack he provided us. I recommend, without hesitation, bringing your cat here for ANY treatments/checkups if you want transparency in your pet care and want someone who is knowledgable about feline health. Even though we live a little ways away, it's completely worth the drive as this will be the only clinic we take our cats to. 💕😻💕 Read Less

I came here for my cat's free checkup after adopting her from the Seattle Humane Society. The office staff (and office cat!) were welcoming and the vet was knowledgeable and kind. The also took my cat to the back to comb out some of the mats that she'd developed at the shelter, for free. Knocking down a star because prices are a little higher than other clinics ($78 is the exam fee) but they are a cat specialty clinic so it makes sense. I would highly recommend bringing your cat here! Read Less

Office visit is $78. Which was about 15 minutes of the doctor's time.  Cats Exclusive is $61 for standard half hour visit.    The parking lot has 4 very tiny spots.  They have an office cat that roams the office and will enter exam rooms if the door is open.  It just adds to the stress of my cat to see it loose and me to have to be on the lookout for it.  I brought my cat in, same day appointment, for a flare up of  a well established ongoing condition.  I waned to do the 'usual' for her flare ups and get the ointment the doctor suggested at a previous visit.  My cat got good care but it was difficult to work with Dr. Nemec. I really can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment I had initial contact with the receptionist, I was met with empathy and a plan of action. My cat has been suffering for 2 months from blockage, he had the PU surgery and then began to show signs of a uti. Ugh! I was at the end of my rope trying to find a vet with answers. One vet prescribed an antibiotic that didn't work. Another vet suggested a muscle relaxer and suggested I make my home less stressful. But when I brought my cat to see Dr Angel, I got a solution right away. Her demeanor was really excellent. The staff greeted me as soon as I came in. The place is clean and bright. There are two clinic kitties who roam around. Not only was I finally provided with answers on my cat's ailment, I felt really well taken care of. And my cat is doing great! No more symptoms. The Cat Clinic of Seattle saved our cat's life, and we got an extra year or so with her because of their efforts. Her surgeon, Dr. Nemec, was wonderful! Dr. Mahoney was great too. When our cat was initially having trouble, Dr. Nevin took the first look. He pretty much wrote her off and urged us to euthanize her. We couldn't believe it. We were incredulous, then angry. Whatever happened to first, do no harm? We insisted on surgery, though the vet warned us she might not make it.A series of tests revealed she was in bad shape, but it wasn't hopeless. She got on meds for diabetes, and after her oral surgery by Dr. Nemec and the removal of the infection, she did amazingly well. She later developed some GI tract issues, and we took her to Blue Pearl for that (they are WONDERFUL btw). It was worth the cash to us to have our special cat with us for that extra time. My advice to Dr. Nevin would be - don't make the decision for your client. Lay out the facts and let them decide. Your pushing for euthanasia before test results are back comes off as aggressive and unpleasant, and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Read Less

I brought my two cats here for three or four years while I lived in Queen Anne. Honestly, I just love this place. Dr. Mahoney has a very sweet way with kitties and a very calming vibe with their owners. She has always been extremely generous with her time, patiently listening to me rattle off my concerns about what I think might be wrong with my cats and then helping to dispel my fears. The staff here are also very caring and considerate - you can tell they really like cats and they do what they can to reduce everyone's stress level. They didn't flinch each time I brought in my two barf/poop/pee covered cats - let's just say they don't enjoy riding in the car, even for less than 10 minutes - and were gracious about taking them back to clean them up before their exams. The front desk is very attentive to moving clients to an exam room as quickly as possible in an effort to reduce kitties' stress. They're extremely accommodating if you need an appointment on short notice. I also liked that they have a couple of resident cats that hang out in the waiting room, sunning themselves. It's such a lovely alternative to vets that see both cats and dogs -- about as low stress as it can get taking your furry friends to the doctor, no barking - pretty chill. Seriously, take your cats here. Read Less

I took my cat here for the first time today, she was having some leg/hip trouble. I called and they were able to book me an appointment the very next day. Everyone was incredibly kind -- the woman I spoke to on the phone, everyone at the front, the vet techs, and the doctor. Dr. Mahoney saw my cat and she was great, she listened to my worried babbling about my cat and did a thorough exam. I told her I didn't want to spend too much on costly treatments, which she entirely understood. (Luckily, my cat's diagnosis was good!) A vet tech showed me how to give my cat a pill, which I mostly successfully replicated at home. It was a bit more than what one might expect to pay, about eighty dollars for the visit, plus an additional cost of pain killers, but the service was truly wonderful! The waiting room is even pleasant and quiet (for human and cat), which I *think* my cat appreciated. Definitely quieter than barking dogs! Read Less

Great first visit. In regards to all the comments about surprise pricing, they literally give a pre-invoice and walk you through any of the charges before moving forward. Not only that, when I asked about pricing for spay/neuter over the phone, the first thing they mentioned (in a humble way) is that since it's a specialized clinic that it will be more cost friendly to go through a standard veterinary clinic. So I really think if costs weren't discussed to reconsider the strong words said as it could have been a simple mix up :)Aside from costs, the main reason I'm leaving a review is because this is easily the best pet care I've ever experienced.  My vet clinic in MN was very nice but what a game changer having an all cat clinic.  The vets here were so calm and collected, it's so nice talking to a Doctor that specifically deals with cats all day and isn't stressed out by however many other animals. The vet we were seeing in Mountlake Terrace now seems like a 1 star after having service like this.My kitten was more sad walking to the car and sitting in the car than it was while getting her shots, so I think that says a lot! Thanks, I will be back in a few weeks for her 2nd round.. Read Less

I love, love, love this place! My cats have always hated going to the vet (read this as completely FREAK OUT when they have to go the vet), but at the Cat Clinic they a slightly more at ease, and there is not quite as much blood.  :)  I really think that the lack of dogs (this is a cat-only clinic) really helps my furry children. The people here always take good care of the cats and definitely know how to handle even irritable/non-happy cats. Two down-sides (and the reason for the 4 stars): First, there is a front-desk woman with glasses and short blonde hair that has been quite rude and harsh on several occasions.  Customer service is key when your kitties aren't feeling well.  Second, the prices are very high.  I especially didn't like when one time they had to do a procedure, couldn't complete it, kept our cat all day, and then charged us for housing the cat for a day!  Ack!Pros: mostly great, caring, and knowledge staff that specializes in catsCons: customer service and prices Read Less

After some good early experience with the Cat Clinic I had a recent experience thatconvinced me to never use them again. My cat, Julian, had been resisting my efforts to trim his nails and the doctor there discovered a lot of dark, crusty dirt like matter around the nails which was removed. He then suggested a blood test, which I agreed to, and then gave me an estimate for surgery, with anesthesia and two nights in the hospital, to get tissue sample for analysis. He seemed to think that it was a fungal infection or something called Pemphigus, which is and autoimmune disorder, and said that the blood test was to make sure that Julian could handle surgery and the surgery would help us to make a final diagnosis. All for around a thousand dollars. I was suspicious of his whole approach, it seemed excessive and expensive, so I took Julian to another hospital, Carkeek Animal Hospital, and got a second opinion.  The doctor there said that he first wanted to consult with a feline dermatologist and when he called and said that all we need to do for starters is get some scraping from one of Julian's nails and send then in for analysis. Another wards, start simple and with the obvious. The analysis indicated a bacterial infection and since then he has been on a regimen of antibiotics and shows every sign of improvement. My total costs at Carkeek have been less than $300.00There is no doubt in my mind at this point that The Cat Clinic's recommended treatment was excessive and a callous attempt to take advantage of me even if it meant suffering for my cat. There are way to many people out there chasing after the mighty dollar and some vets. are no exception. Please be careful about who you trust with your animal and do not use the Cat Clinic. I had waited twice as long as they estimated and was in my car with a narrow window of time to pick up my cat. The receptionist told me she couldn't even update the estimate for 20 minutes. I turned around and went to my next appintment and received a call at the point I would have arrived at the cat clinic letting me know she was ready.

Read Less

I just wanted to drop a note and say this is the BEST vet we've been to hands down! We are a military family so we relocate and travel often. We have a cat that many other vets have labeled as "dangerous/need tranqs upon visits". Our baby Errol was having some issues and not only were we seen that day, but for the first time ever he did not flip-out or need tranqs. The doc was wonderful with him and helped us try and narrow things down, also she was upfront about costs and what tests we'd need and what we could wait on.

Very expensive. It is nice to have a clinic just for cats, but their charges are on the extreme end of the spectrum. $300 for a set of x-rays. I run a human clinic and typical payment for a series of X-rays is under $50. Then a charge for keeping my cat to do tests on top of the charge for the tests themselves...
