This is a place where people REALLY care about animals. Even the receptionists are extremely knowledgeable, and understand that your dog or cat is your baby and you would absolutely die if anything happened to them.I found Green Lake Animal Hospital through a friend's recommendation, and went with my shy, skittish rescue dog. Xena is a lab/boxer mix, so she's not exactly little. From the receptionists to the vet tech to the veterinarian herself (we use doctor Edwards), they all got it, and were extra gentle. But they all had steady hands because it was very clear they knew exactly what they were doing.Within just the first two months Xena had a ton of visits - she needed every single shot updated, was treated for Kennel Cough, then tapeworm, then an eye infection! So we've gotten to know this place pretty well. They don't force you to get a full vet visit if you don't need to, which saves time. For example, dropping off a fecal sample to see if your pup has worms. Or calling and asking for a refill of medication. It's very personal care, too. I had a vet tech call to make sure Xena's eye infection had cleared up. And on the next visit, one tech said she would grab a vet to make sure the eye infection was gone, just in case. And they didn't charge me for a full visit. When we came in to update her shots, I had a tech spend 25 minutes with me discussing my dog's diet and weight and my concerns as a first-time dog owner. And, they'll send you email or text reminders when your pet is due for shots or follow up care. And they have pet medical charts available online. One drawback - all the care they give each pet and their family (and they really care for the families too... They've takes me through a bunch of stuff over the phone when I'm freaking out about something or other!) means you might have to wait in the waiting room a little past your appointment. When this first happened to me, I was only seen a half hour after my appointment time. I was so upset... Until the next time I visited and the staff went the extra mile for me.Another thing - they tend to be slightly more expensive. But they are up-front about the pricing if you ask. A standard vet wellness visit costs $69, and shots are around $35. Read Less
