Loved Lein Animal Clinic! I made a new patient/problem visit appointment for my cat. I called on Tuesday and there were next day appointments available. At the time of our visit, we were roomed right away, had a veterinary tech greet us within a few minutes of rooming to get a history, and the vet was in a short time later. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, the evaluation and treatment plan for Newman was explained well. Thank you! Read Less

The doctor and staff seemed pleasant enough and got me in even though I missed the appt time due to the cat hiding under the bed. However, I don't know that I got a good diagnosis, and the liquid antibiotics is ridiculously hard to give. I would rather have had pills. And it was $42 for one week. I seriously think I got ripped off. I just google it and I could have bought it OTC for less than half for liquid and only $1.42 for pills. I will be in the market for a new animal hospital for next time. Read Less

I love the doctors and vet assistants at Lien!! The online appointment system is great. They get right back to us by email and/or phone. We live on Vashon and they do their best to accommodate our scheduling needs. I also like that they print us itemized estimates/costs for care BEFORE treating our animals so that we are not surprised by how much we will have to pay. And, I am happy that they are a less expensive option than the clinic on Vashon. The only downsides to Lien are the size of their parking lot and that their only payment plan option is Care Credit. Otherwise, I am so grateful for all they have done for our 4 pets! Oh...and I love their extended/evening hours. Thank you Lien doctors and staff! Read Less

I felt like Chuy and I received wonderful care from the moment I arrived...at a reasonable price. I chose to look elsewhere for Chuys care when, after repeated attempts to be seen at my previous vet of nearly 12 years, they could not make the effort to find time to see him for a time-sensitive condition - leaving me to deal with it on my ow . Somehow you were able to find time within 48 hours. For a new unseen patient. That spoke volumes to me. I realize that a long-term relationship is built upon a foundation of many stones. But this 1st one was very well placed. Thank you, Steve Read Less

The Lien Clinic crew is solid! They're thorough, patient and generally good humored. :-) Once, during a health scare, as in my pup was occupying every other thought in the course of the day and nite, I could not have been more grateful for Dr. Woof and her assistant. They know 'fur family values' through and through. You know what I'm talking about. Yep, they know the parents/guardians of their patients would pretty much die for them and they know its not your fault. Its just our job to keep our animal family members alive, comfortable and healthy. Definitely, I could say a bunch of other positive excellent stuff, but this is from the core of my being. Its the Year of the Dog! Be a good guardian and bring your loved ones to the Lien Clinic :-) Read Less

We followed our vet to this practice and its truly a great clinic. Its a bit of a drive for us but its worth it for quality care. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. Our pups get very stressed at the vet (like most) and they do everything they can to acclimate themselves with our pups to help ease their anxiety. We love our vet, Dr.Wolf, and the practice as a whole. Thanks for caring! I'd say the only problematic thing can be parking but most of the time we make it work. Read Less

I was there to see the dental hygienist for my cat. Check in was speedy and efficient. I only waited about five minutes before they took my pet and returned in 20 minutes as promised. Check out was quick and efficient as well. The clinic seemed reasonably busy with a steady flow of clients with cats and dogs. Since I was not there to see the veterinarian specifically I cannot comment on that level of treatment. Bottom line I was very pleased with the efficiency and speed of the clinic. Read Less

We called and made an appointment for our cat to follow up on an existing issue to get a second opinion, after seeing several positive reviews on Facebook and Yelp. I called to verify the cost of the appointment so we knew what to expect, and they said it would be the standard exam fee of $68. Totally fine by us. We went today and were initially very happy as they offered to clean his crate because he got sick in the car on the way over (he's a nervous puker). Kit the vet tech was really personable and nice, listened to my little speech about what our cat has been going through and was very gentle when taking his vitals. Our appointment was with Dr. Coleman, and when she entered the room is when I felt like things went sour. She didn't really seem to listen to us, when we know his behavior best, she kept saying she just agreed with the other vet we'd seen and waffled on a couple of her suggestions on what to do moving forward. We are considering a very serious procedure for our cat so it was disconcerting that she didn't seem confident in any of her answers, and seemed judgmental that we didn't just want to do the surgery (We are weighing our other options). She vaguely referred to his records that were sent over from the other vet but continued to say to do one thing and then said we could also do another thing. It was difficult to get any concrete information from her and she didn't feel engaged at all. We asked for an estimate for the procedure, and if she would recommend a natural supplement to ease his nerves, which she said we could get on Amazon for cheaper. She then left and we waited, and Kit brought us the estimate and the supplement even though we had decided we would buy it elsewhere. He was great about restocking the medicine and he went over the estimate which he said included some medicines that the Dr. "Wasn't sure if she would need or not." The estimate was almost 3 times what we got at another vet and it bothered me that they wouldn't know almost exactly what they needed for the procedure, which makes me feel like she hasn't performed it before. The real kicker of the whole ordeal was when we went to leave, I went to pay the $68 exam fee and was told it would actually be over $90 for a "second opinion fee" because she had reviewed his medical records! We never consented to the additional fee so they did reverse it and we paid the normal $68. I've never heard of a "second opinion fee" and think it's absolutely ridiculous. I even called the other vet we are seeing on Tuesday and asked if that was something we should expect to pay, and they said they've never heard of such a thing. Needless to say we won't be getting the procedure done at Lien and won't take either of our cats there again. Read Less

My husband and I recently moved out of state, and were very sad to have to say goodbye to Lien. We feel so lucky to have come accross them when we got a labrador puppy 1,5 years ago! Our dog has had quite some (minor) health issues, so we have been frequent customers. We have mostly seen Dr. Tweed, who is absolutely amazing. She is great with dogs, patient, kind, understanding, very knowledgeable and when I sometimes didn't understand something because my English wasn't sufficient, she was always happy to explain again. The only reason I take 1 star off is because of an exerpience we had with another doctor. We went in because our dog had allergies, and the topic of spaying came up. I have done lots of research myself and being used to veterinarians in Europe, I have the strong opinion that spaying/neutering young is not good. Dr. Tweed was always understanding of this and let it be our decision, but this doctor strongly disagreed and tried to talk us into spaying our dog at 6 months old. It was a bit uncomfortable, especially since our appointment was not about spaying and we never asked her opinion on this. Read Less

I switched from West Seattle Animal Hospital to Lien Animal Clinic and I couldn't be happier. The front desk staff is beyond friendly. The clinic's online presence and ease of scheduling an appointment online is efficient and convenient. The exam rooms are clean yet comfortable. There is a rug on the floor so your dog feels more at home. They did Oji's entire exam on the floor where he felt more comfortable. Finally, Dr. Wolf is AMAZING. She was so kind and friendly and put my worries to ease about my senior dog. I was able to accomplish everything I wanted to accomplish in one visit! She is a true professional. I was even greeted by another Doctor while I was waiting for my dog to complete blood work - she just wanted to come say hi and talk about Shiba Inus because she has several herself! We are new to West Seattle and are thrilled to call Lien Animal Clinic our new veterinarian for our pup. We had been referred to Lien by a few different people and also the doggy daycare we chose for our dog. Our experience at Lien was great from the time we made the appointment on the phone! Very courteous and personable in making sure that we got connected with the correct vet for our pet's needs. The office is clean and the staff is so very friendly. The veterinarian, Dr. Coleman, spent a lot of time with us for our annual check up and explained a variety of options of treatment for our pup's dental needs as well as her food and seasonal allergy issues. We have brought two generations of our feline family to Lien Animal Clinic. They are open 7 days a week so it is easy to get an appointment and they are always on time. They care for you animal family like they would for your human family. And in worst case scenario, when it is time to say good bye no one could be more sensitive. They light a candle in the waiting room letting people know someone is saying goodbye to a dearly loved pet. They do this to ask those in the waiting room to please be quiet out of respect. Then everyone at the clinic sends a condolence card that they all sign. Very moving. Read Less

I know that there are lots of glowing reviews here and I am so glad that people have had a good experience. I unfortunately did not have the same experience as others. I came to the Lien Animal Clinic because my current vet is in the process of slowing down his practice and is  only available a few days a week and my dog had an emergent situation. The accessibility at Lien is great. They fit you in as soon as possible. The people at the front desk are friendly and Diane is especially compassionate and helpful. Unfortunately, I found the two doctors I worked with to be clinicians, and not as compassionate as I would have liked. I experienced the worst of western medicine, that I reject for me as a human. Testing was needed to determine what was wrong with my dog. I understand that, however, they wanted to test beyond need. I wanted the least invasive way to knowledge so that I could make a good decision about my ten year old dog, without adding to his pain and suffering. Just because you can test, does not mean that you should test. Also, communication between the two vets was not very good. I was lead to believe one thing and found that it was not true. Very confusing. Two startling examples of the clinical approach are when I had to repeatedly ask them to help me to relieve my dogs suffering. I had to advocate for pain medication for my dog and when the prescribed medication did not work and I said, "He is suffering. Please do something." I heard back, "What makes you think he is suffering?" Really? I have known my dog for a decade and I know his suffering. He had lymphoma of the skin - the whole top of his body was raw and inflamed. His body was shaking and he only got up when he absolutely had to. Then when I asked if she would be willing to euthanize my dog, she said, "Well, if you are just going to euthanize him, we should try loading him up with steroids and see what happens." First, the word "just" negated the complexity and heartache of making this decision for my dog and secondly, no, you do not get to experiment on my dog. And by the way, massive steroids are no picnic for anyone. I opted to call an at home euthanizing service who came and helped my dog to his end. I will not be going back to the Lien Animal Clinic. I have mixed feelings about this place. I will still go back when my dog needs care, so my issues aren't enough to switch vets. To put context around this review, I look more critically at businesses that provide services that are really important to me; where the consequences of a mistake might be that I eat a bad meal vs. a medical mistake, my expectations are higher when reviewing the latter. On the pro side: There is genuine caring here, which is a big deal when your pet is stressed out by a trip like this. And I've trusted the medical advice that I've gotten (we've seen a variety of providers here, all good). The vet techs, who end up doing most of the basic handling on a standard visit, are great and really care about us. The overall feel is comfortable (again, important for my high-strung dog).On the con side: It is disturbing to me that they have a tough time keeping track of details. I've asked about details from prior visits (specific items we've purchased, care we've received, etc) and it takes a long time to get an email response, and often it doesn't adequately answer my question. So I called, to ask more questions, and got incorrect information back. I only figured it out by digging up an old receipt. I now realize I just need to keep those documents easily accessible instead of relying on the roulette of who answers the phone / email. On another occasion, I had approved an additional procedure while my dog was under anesthesia, and they did not perform it. They stated they were confused about whether I had approved it, but I never received a call asking to clarify, and they seemed to not know what I was talking about when I asked about it, after which I got a call that they thought I had not approved. We're not talking negligence or anything like that! We will still go here - I just need to adjust my expectations somewhat. The level of caring is genuine, and that means a lot. Read Less

I will never take my animals anywhere else!My 12 yr old cat was acting a bit odd and I took him here as he's been seeing this clinic since I moved to West Seattle a few years ago.The staff have bent over backwards since the diagnosis.  They've been supportive, caring and replying to my near daily emails and calls regarding the care I need to provide for this condition.Dr. Majeski has made plenty of time out of her busy schedule to consult with me over the phone regarding my questions regarding care at this point and have been very emotionally supportive of me and my little boy during this time. She and her staff have provided not only incredible information and care, but the appropriate level of care.  She has kept me grounded when my first reaction was "OMG! He needs a transplant, NOW!" She knows that while money isn't my primary concern, she's providing the care necessary and nothing that's just padding their pocketbook.I trust her and this location with my current furry family member and will do so with any in the future! Very friendly, understanding staff that have been a joy to work with. I have a little blind dog that is aggressive toward strangers in order to "protect" me (she's adopted - slowly changing these behaviors), but they understand that and calmly guide her to the back of the building where she will be more timid (out of my presence) instead of immediately slapping a muzzle on her (which would make things so much worse!). They were also who I turned to when I had to put down my childhood dog, and they were absolutely wonderful and kind during that emotional process. I still plan on coming here even after I move out of West Seattle. Read Less

I wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. We first came to Lien after we took in Moo, the cat about town. After vacs and blood work, we found out that Moo was FIV+. I was impressed by the level of information about this virus and that Lien was an advocate for these kitties. Sadly, Moo died last year at the ripe old age of 14, but now I have another FIV kitty, and it's no big deal. When you see vet care in other countries, especially the third world, you really appreciate the compassionate care our pets receive here. We've been bringing our pets there for about a year and a half. We came to them the first time because our rat was very ill. They treated us with nothing but compassion and empathy when we had to put him down. They allowed us to hold him while they gave him the injections. They treated us just as kindly when his brother passed away a few months later. They've also treated our cats extremely well and listened to our concerns about them, whether it's related to health or behavior. One of our cats actually enjoyed his visit there because of all the friendly attention he got from the vet and the assistants. While our others weren't as thrilled to be there, they were treated with the same compassionate care and attention. One great thing about the vets at Lien is that they aren't afraid to talk about cost. They're up front with their fees, and they're willing to listen and work with your financial concerns. They don't take payments, but they will advise the best course of action based on your financial situation. They could have pushed us for an expensive treatment for our cat's urinary tract infection, but instead they advised a more cost-effective, conservative course of treatment (which ended up working fine). The clinic's schedule is definitely more convenient than other vets as well. The only quibble I have is that a couple of members of the front desk staff can be a little abrupt when checking out, but that has never spoiled the experience for me. Read Less

I worked as a volunteer at Lien for 6 months and I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. I have since moved out of the West Seattle area but I still make the drive over to take my puppy there. The staff is very nice and work extremely well together. The doctors as smart and kind and truly love and respect the animals. It is a small building that has been around for a long time but the staff is very good at making sure things are sterile for your pets. I assisted in many surgeries and they were extremely professional and interested in the well fare of each animal, from the biggest dog to the smallest hamster. I recommend this place to all my friends and family. Being behind the scenes really opened my eyes to how much room for error there is in Veterinary medicine, and I truly trust the people at Lien. When I take my pets there I know that they will be in good hands. I whole heartedly respect and admire doctors Craable, Fritzler, and Fisher. I wouldn't recommend King, though. He can be a bit brash. However, I don't know that I got a good diagnosis, and the liquid antibiotics is ridiculously hard to give. I would rather have had pills. And it was $42 for one week.

I love the people at Lien so much. I started taking my rabbit to them 11 years ago and they've provided us with excellent care for her through her whole life. Now in her old age Dr. Kraabel has been wonderful in helping us keep her as comfortable and happy as can be. It can be difficult to find a vet that is familiar with rabbits as pets but Dr. Kraabel comes to it as a rabbit owner himself and gives just that little bit extra because of it. If you're a bunny owner, you can't go wrong with Lien. Read Less

After 20 years with the same vet hospital, it was time to make the switch to a new vet. Needless to say we were nervous about going to a new clinic and working with a new Veterinarian. However, we did come based on a couple of recommendations, and we couldn't have come away more confident! Dr. Barile was incredibly thorough and attentive (to both our dogs and to me and my big mouth). And the staff was so upbeat and welcoming, too. We breathed a huge sigh of relief upon walking out and have all the confidence in the world we made the right choice. :) Read Less

Our 8 yr old lab mix was dying from stage 5 lymphoma.  She really needed fluids to help her remain comfortable.  Our usual vet is in Capitol Hill and we didn't want to drive her if we didn't have to so they called in a request for fluids to Lien.  I called Lien to find out when the fluids would be ready, we explained our dog is dying and is dehydrated.  They said they were working on it but were short staffed; they said they would call us when it was ready.  They NEVER called.  They NEVER filled the request.  They didn't call the next day or even the day after that.  We ended up piling her into the car to make the long trek to Cap Hill so that she could get the fluids she needed.Based on this outright lack of caring, we will never take our animals to Lien.
