We have brought our dogs to see Dr Hofmann over the past 10 years and have been amazed by the compassion and care from both her and her staff. She always takes the time to explain things which we truly appreciate. Two years ago, both of my dogs became deathly ill at the same time and their livers started to shut down and they started rapidly losing weight. Dr Hofmann explored all of the options and looked at the different possibilities as well as getting them back on the right track again. She consulted other Vets and ended up sending us to a specialist. Both of my babies made it out alive from whatever was making them sick. Like most of you, we truly love and adore our furry family members and good healthcare for them is especially important to us. Our previous vet was excellent but we needed to move away from the clinic system and settle in with an appointment based vet. After doing extensive research of the vets in our area it became clear that Maple Leaf pet corner was head and shoulders above many of its peers. I followed Dr. Heidi Miller from Edmonds Vet Hospital.  She's so friendly, casual, and jokey that you forget she's a medically trained professional imparting expert information.  She never skimps on time taken to explain what's going on, always calls to check in the following day after a procedure, and both she and the MLPC staff take wonderful care of my dog (you can tell a lot about a vet office by the way your dog approaches the front door...while not thrilled, mine never hesitates and walks right in).  It's spendy, yep, but worth it to me...I also never feel I'm getting sold an unnecessary procedure or medication for my dog.  Tia is in kind, expert hands. Absolutely love this place!! Brought my cat Mitts in for an eye infection. I was so worried about him. They were wonderful with him. The vet and her assistant were compassionate,kind and caring towards my baby. Mitts was very comfortable there. It's cozy and inviting for the animals. They answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed or unimportant as I have with other vets. As soon as we left Mitts was in better spirits and his eyes were looking better already!! With my high-maintenance diabetic panther and all the places he and I have lived, I can safely say that Dr. McNeal and the folks at Maple Leaf Pet Corner are the best at what they do anywhere in the country (let alone in Seattle). They are all incredibly smart, pragmatic, and efficient. They're also open and kind - it has never been a problem that Draco doesn't do crates, nor do they hide their more difficult-to-watch procedures (like drawing blood) in the back behind closed doors. It's a tragedy that I can't take them to our next home, but Dr. McNeal and her team saved my best friend's life on numerous occasions, so I guess we can't be greedy. Read Less

The reviews on here are on a good indication of the quality of this office! Since I brought my cat, Luda, home in 2010 I have seen veterinarians on every side of the lake, seemingly in every neighborhood from Aurora to Juanita to Bellevue. I'm happy to say, we will be continuing to see Dr. Neil at Maple Leaf Pet Corner from now on!What I really appreciate is about a week after having come in for a weight-check and a behavior consultation (cranky kitty), I called them and not only was I remembered, but Luda and her visit were remembered as well. I always feel like I get a lot out of my discussions with Dr. Neil, both during my office visit and over the phone. Everyone at Maple Leaf Pet Corner has done a lot to answer all of my questions. I got a recommendation for a spray and diffuser with Feliway from Rita, who works in the office (possibly as a vet tech?) and a followup call from the Dr. Neil. Their recommendation was on point and Luda's mood has improved considerably!Of mention: Their hours are fantastic and they are flexible with scheduling appointments. The office is on a busy street (Lake City Way) with limited street parking, but I appreciate that they are in my neighborhood. Not a well-stocked office, but All the Best Pet Care ($$$) is within walking distance and Pet Pros ($$) is just a bit further north on Lake City. Read Less

Dr's Karen Hofmann & Julia McNeal and the rest of the staff at Maple Leaf Pet Corner are by far the most caring and compassionate group I have found for a veterinarian. They are excellent with animals; gentle, patient, sympathetic,  taking the time the animal needs to be comfortable. My dog is my family and they treat him that way without judgement.  They are thorough, comfort the animals sincerely, and are careful to ensure my comfort as well. Whether a routine check-up or an urgent need they are flexible in getting your pet in, willing to work with you on payment,  which can be a challenge at any other vet. They are caring and show true concern about your pets needs. Routine vaccinations and other needs are not forgotten as they send out reminders, call to remind of appointments,  and call to check on your pet after a procedure. I will soon be living in West Seattle where there are numerous vets, but will continue to make the trek to Lake City to retain them as my baby's vet. That is how impressive they are. Having pets essentially all my life, I've been to many different vets and Dr's Hofmann and McNeal and team are by far the best! My husband and I take our ChiPin here and we love this place. We found them on Yelp and while they aren't in our neighborhood they are worth the 15 drive. They always take such good care of our fur baby, even offering to clip her nails during her appointments since she doesn't like them being clipped. When she ate 5oz of chocolate they took her right away and gave her meds as well as activated charcoal to soak up the toxins from the chocolate. I met them upon helping my first dog after a senior accident and they were kind enough to refer me to a specialist place when my dog needed more serious care.  I unfortunately lost that dog shortly after and they were still so comforting and kind.  Both my boys did and now only one adore Dr. Julie and melt like putty in her hands.  I would recommend anyone going and taking there pet to her, she is a great value, and her staff care about pets like they are their own.  All the 5 star reviews she has are really worth it. WOW! Taking your four legged child to the Vet isn't easy, finding one that you love is even more difficult.I thankful had met Karen Hofmann while she was shopping at University Village and she said she would love to meet my 5 lb Pomeranian, Violet.So finally 4 months later, I did and I have to say that from the moment I walked in, they were so warm and welcoming! Even Buzz, their resident dog came out to greet us as first time guests.Violet got her yearly shots. We got her flea medicine and Karen just gave insight as to what to watch for, like her sliding kneecaps (there's a far more official term, but that's not my trade) and other advice. Our last vet in Minnesota constantly was trying to up our bill with some new stupid add on but that was not the case one bit here.Karen even clipped Violet's nails herself and Violet didn't go into hysterics as she normally does. I am extremely happy after my first visit at this vet today! My recently adopted cat is quite shy and I was a little nervous about taking her in, but she ended up being very comfortable in this caring environment.When you walk in to the clinic, a staff member is immediately ready to help you. If you're a first time visitor, the paperwork takes about 2 minutes to complete (bring past vet paperwork if possible). Within 5 minutes of walking in the door, I was in a check up room getting started with my appointment. Two of the staff members spent lots of one on one time with me and my cat, discussing every little thing I could come up with. They were patient, informative, and made sure I knew all of my options in regards to treatment. They even presented me with an estimate before actually doing anything.Once we got going with treatment stuff, it was all quick and smooth. Not rushing, as they obviously respect you and your pet, but they are definitely efficient.Two of the best things from my visit that stuck out in addition to the friendly and hard working staff: 1. My cat was very comfortable and they were sensitive to her 2. Every question I asked was answered thoroughly (I ask lots of questions!).I'm so very glad to have found a good place for my cat, and will be coming back regularly! WE LOVE DR. KAREN HOFMANN!!!!As any pet owner would agree with me, pets are NOT just pets. They are part of the family, and like most, my spoiled baby! So choosing the *right* vet is serious business.We found Maple Leaf Pet Corner through the reviews on Yelp and we have been coming here for the last 3 years for our pup, Lucy. After a somewhat rocky start, we felt at ease and appreciated that the staff here will go out of their way to make our visits comfortable. Lucy has a lot of insecurities/fears/anxiety and can be difficult when there are other animals present in the office, so I love that I can pop my head in and let them know of Lucy's arrival, in which they would let us go straight into an empty room for her exams. Dr. Hofmann is very pleasant. understanding, caring, sweet, thoroguh, knowledgable, etc. THE LIST CAN GO ON!! Her calm demeanor is also very very helpful when you have a million thoughts going on in your head. I started taking my dog to Maple Leaf when she was just 6 months old. My sweet dog, who is a rescue and quite terrified of people is a different dog when we go the vet. She is easygoing, relaxed and just loves Dr. Hoffman. Because she had such a good experience early on, she seems to assume anyone in that building is okay. She'll let people touch her, whereas out in the real world, she tries to get away. She also likes other dogs to keep their distance, but she'll let the clinic's mascot dog walk right up to her and she shows no fear or upset. I have no complaints whatsoever, and even referred someone to them who was also very happy with the care she received for her cat at the end of the cat's life. Read Less

They refused to discuss our cat's diagnosis with us. They gave us medicine to treat her, and we later learned that when we got her treatment refilled, they decided to change her medication without informing us. At one point, one of their employees mentioned to us that the treatments they give us are not actually the products listed on the labels, as they will open things up and add additional medications that they feel are necessary, without labeling them. When we asked them about all of this, they told us that their belief was that most pet owners are not well enough informed to make competent decisions about the treatment of their pets, and so their policy was to not provide information to pet owners so that the owners would have no way of trying to be involved in decisions about treatment. In the end, we took our cat to another vet, and learned that, because of improper treatment at Maple Leaf Pet Cornet, our cat had nearly died. Fortunately, our new vet has helped us to undo the damage caused by the improper treatment from Maple Leaf Pet Corner. We will absolutely never take another pet here. Read Less
