The staffs are super friendly but you will realize soon enough everything what they offer will cost. I took my dog for allergy and had to through all the tests (fecal test for allergy? I am not a vet, but sounds not related) and ended paying $500. The medication I payed first time was $3.27 / tablet, and asked more for a refill then I payed $ 4.15 / tablet. It is quite impressive the tablet's price went up so much within a month. They are friendly but they will eat your money. Overall, just can't trust them anymore. By the way, a vet near this place charged only $2.47/tablet ... the locations are 2 miles apart. Hello? Read Less

The text message updates really meant a lot. As an owner we want to know how things are going along the way but don't want to be bothersome either. So getting the text message updates really made it easy to keep in touch with the surgery techs. They were wonderful about quickly responding as well..... Wow are these people friendly!!!! I brought our 9 month old pup for his first visit ever. I did home vaccines so I only needed rabies shot. They were so nice about it. Took a copy of my papers then gave back original. Gave him 1 other shot he needed and took a general look at him. Everything went great. Warm feeling waiting room, not all white and creepy. My family used the Everett location and now that I have my own dog I use this one closer to my house 10/10. The answers to my questions were great and educational. Also the first time I called I set the wrong date for my appointment, I called back the next day to reschedule and they were so helpful and polite about it. Read Less

I love how they take care of my kitty, follow up with my questions, and seem to be constantly finding ways to improve their service. They were also the only vet I went to who recognized on sight that my cat was a Devon Rex so I felt comfortable that they'd know how to care for her specific breed. My two star rating is due solely to cost of this clinic.  We were thrilled at the cleanliness, friendliness and professionalism of the establishment. That all changed when we got the estimate for a dental cleaning for our 15 pound dog.  $870 to $955. This did not include the mandatory blood panel which was an additional $300 or the added cost of any extractions which would be anywhere between $75 to $150 per tooth depending on the tooth pulled.  This dental cleaning for our 15lb dog would total $1170 to 1250 not including any teeth being pulled!!!!After getting home I called 5 vets (including South Seattle vet, Third + Stewart, Helping Hands) in the Seattle area for estimates. All vets had specials ranging from a TOTAL cost of $250 to no specials of $377 (extractions are not included in the price as a general rule). These prices also did not include any meds that might be prescribed to go home with us. I would love to go to Northgate vet because they are in our neighborhood but if they are trying to scam clients like this for a dental procedure how overpriced are their other services.   When we declined the dental service there was marked change in the assistant who gave us the estimate which then spoke to us about their character.    Buyer Beware. Northgate was recommended to me by my veterinarian of 20+ years back in NY. Dr. Baxter and her team have provided care for both my dog and my two cats since I moved to Seattle 2 years ago. No matter the situation, they've gone out of their way to provide convenience for me and high quality care for my pets. Cosmo (my Border Collie) is greeted as though he is royalty for every visit. It makes trips to the vet far less stressful. When my cat Mary had to be put down (Lymphoma), they sent me a thoughtful card signed by all of the people who treated her as well as a beautiful potted Iris. Such a thoughtful gesture. Their front desk is a mess. When my cat, CoCo, was diagnosed with liver failure I was stopping in a few times a week to get her rehydrated. I would always call a half hour ahead and was told drops in were fine. The final time I took her in I checked in at the front desk and was told it would only be a few minutes. They made me wait 45 minutes with CoCo, who was terminally ill, for a 10 minute drop in procedure. I mistakenly took my new cat Pippin there and they kept piling on weird charges. He had an ear infection and when he went to get his ears rechecked they went ahead with another full physical (without letting me know) and charged me for that despite the fact that they'd just given him one less than a month before. One of the front desk was extremely unprofessional with me over the phone and when I tried to quietly and politely let another staff member know that I wasn't happy with her behavior she came out of the back room to argue with me. As someone who works in the medical field and in customer service I found all of this appalling. To make matters worse when they finally got around to sending an "apology" email they couldn't even be bothered to get my name right. Needless to say I am never going back and I feel like an idiot for not leaving sooner. Read Less

I have never had a bad experience with a vet, and didn't think that was possible until today. I brought my cat to this clinic for a check up so I could get his script refilled, immediately a $56 visit turned into a $450 visit as they suggested I do bloodwork, urinalysis, and vaccines. The office was very very busy and loud. Loud music was playing through speakers in the ceiling. Several loud, unmuzzled dogs on long leashes clearly held priority. There was only one entrance for all pets, and a small "quiet room" that was not quiet and was just made of Windows. Not a single person at this clinic even touched him while I was present. My cat and I were both stressed. The vet and assistant looked like they had never worked with a cat before. They had me leave while they did the exam and blood work. I did not have confidence in this and was worried for the whole 40 min wait. They called me after 40 mins and said they would charge another $70 to sedate my cat. I said I would take him elsewhere. In all the years I have owned cats, They have never needed sedation. My cats certainly don't like visiting the vet, but previous vets have handled them appropriately to do an exam and run tests. Even though absolutely nothing was done, I was still charged $56 dollars and his script was not filled. It took 3 hours for all this. This clinic has no compassion for cats and it is clearly just a business. I also tried to politely speak with a "manager" in order to resolve this somehow, but the vet just gave me excuses and blamed the car ride there. I would not suggest bringing your cat here, it will just cost you money because this clinic does not have your pet's interest in mind. Read Less

I hate to have to write this as my family has been coming here for 30yrs, long before the newer owners took over. I have to agree with the earlier review on yelp that this place is all about the money and profit. If you go in there with a pet that is ready to be in a better place, all they see is $$$$ signs I took my 15yr old dog in here when she was having issues, knowing that I was about 90% going to have to put her down as it was her time. I was sold a bunch of false hope with words like "road to recovery" etc. Then was sold $200 worth of special diet food, their own house brand go figure. Turned everything into a 180 and suddenly I thought my dog may not be so bad after all. $1000 in about 1hr of visit plus meds and special diet food, and was not given any real answers. $99 exam fee at the emergency vet just a few blocks away and they instantly determined my dog's abdomen was full of blood and she had tumors all over her organs that had ruptured. According to this vet, who was realistic about the situation that my dog was at her time, could not understand why an expensive diet plan would be sold at this stage. Maybe this was just one particular vet, but the lobby is now full of "products" for sale.. the vet himself spoke very quickly and very much resembled a used car salesman. Everyone else at the front desk was very nice, and even one lady who checked me out thought it was a little weird I was buying 60 cans of special diet food. This place is not ethical and there are much better clinics out there, I am actually curious if this is normal practice at Northgate Vet Clinic. Read Less

My dog is elderly with medical issues. I newly moved in the area and was looking for a clinic that is caring and can provide emergency service (24/7) similar to service I came from. They don't have 24/7 in-house but they're affiliated with another clinic that can provide that service. The staff were friendly; they listened to my concerns; they recorded my observation on chart/file correctly; the doctors listened, talked me through health and care issues, and they followed up. Tests were recommendations I either decided to do or not. It depends on your comfort level of risk whether you want to go for additional tests. After much thought, I blame my choice of this vet clinic as the primary reason my cat is dead. I took my 10 year old cat in on a Thursday before a three day weekend when the primary doctor ""Smalley"" was taking the next 4 days off. My cat had a blockage in his intestine and should have been operated on that day. Doctor ""Smalley"" turned my cat over to a doctor ""Baxter"" who finally called me late the next day. She said she would call me right back to confirm arrangements for surgery on the next morning, but then she never called back. After I called and left two messages, I finally got a call back Saturday evening and all she had to say is that they could fit my cat in on Tuesday after the holiday. In hindsight, it seems like doctor ""Baxter"" dragged her heels, either because she was too busy to care or maybe because they couldn't arrange for surgery until after the holiday and didn't want my business to go to a 24/7 clinic? Doctor ""Smalley"" finally operated on my cat on Tuesday, five days later, and even though he said he would call right after the surgery, he didn't. I didn't receive a call to update me until it was too late. My cat died. I believe in my heart that he would still be here if I took him to an emergency 24/7 clinic over the weekend that could have performed the emergency surgery. Today I received the bill for the surgery with no note or card or anything, just an invoice with a request to provide feedback on citysearch... I think a short note with some sort of condolances should be a gesture that any good vet would take the time to do - because their heart would demand it. I was left with the feeling that neither of these ""doctors"" is in this business for the right reasons. And if you love your pet, I think you should find someone else to care for it. It just might not be convenient for this clinic to provide your pet with the care it needs. Read Less

They were so friendly to my cat Spiderman, and even took a Halloween picture! The Doctor was very knowledgable and got Spiderman feeling better and looking himself the next day! My favorite part is the Pet Portal online account they set me up with for free! They let me know that I could even refill my pet's prescricption online and it's cheaper! It's also another great way to communicate with the Doctor about Spiderman's condition. I highly reccommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a clinic that is great with pets, efficient with healthcare, and makes it a fun and positive experience! Read Less

Hello? Read Less

My family used the Everett location and now that I have my own dog I use this one closer to my house 10/10. The answers to my questions were great and educational.

Read Less

The staff were friendly; they listened to my concerns; they recorded my observation on chart/file correctly; the doctors listened, talked me through health and care issues, and they followed up. Tests were recommendations I either decided to do or not. It depends on your comfort level of risk whether you want to go for additional tests. Sometimes all the tests can do is tell you what health issue it is not. Read Less

This is the second time I've accompanied my partner to this clinic, and we won't be coming back. She has now been asked at least 4 times for her dog's previous records, and even been blatantly lied to about speaking to her dog's previous clinic. Every employee failed at organization; the same questions were asked over and over again, the same expensive tests were ordered again after coming back without problems (noting ""good practice"" as the reasoning after questioned about it) and almost all staff members were incredibly rude until it was time to sell another unnecessary test. It's truly sad when a business exploits their customers' love for their pets to sell more, and I would never trust these people with my loved ones. Read Less

Read Less

I walked into Northgate Vet on a Saturday afternoon, to see if they had any openings. They fit me in same day, even though the clinic was bustling with activity and pets. Read Less
