We've taken our 2 Rescued puppies here since they were babies. We moved up to the North end, but now we're back and visiting WSAH again and couldn't be happier. One of our babies was rescued from a Taiwanese meat farm, and is skittish around people he doesn't know to this day. But the doctors here are always friendly and patient. They take the time to get him to calm down and relax (as relaxed as he's able to get, ) and always give great care to both of our furry little babies! The prices aren't cheap, but they certainly aren't any more expensive than any other vets we've been to. Add to that excellent care and treatment and it's definitely worth the price! Fiendly and efficient staff. Can accommodate last minute appointments and open later than other places on week nights. Great for working parents. I've always felt the care is high quality here and the doctors are always able to answer my questions. I have been going to WSAH, mostly to Dr. Quincy, with all of my fur kids since the mid-90's. I can't say enough good. They are a little spendy, but so very worth it! They take time and care. Dr. Quincy followed my one dog from 8 weeks when I adopted her until her passing at age 14, and every visit was filled with love. Cats, Dogs, even Rats have been treated with the great care of the doctors, nurses, and office staff there. Even my rescue pit, who is terrified of the whole vet system, has been treated with respect and gentle kindness. These doctors and support staff are just amazing people, full of love, full of compassion, and so very competent at what they do! Read Less

I can't imagine a better vet experience. They have a large staff so you can often get same day or even same hour appointments. And even though you may see a different doctor, the staff is all so organized, efficient, and unified in their approach it never feels alienating or impersonal. Prices are also reasonable. Read Less

I've taken all my pets here for over 15 years. My Katey became suddenly ill over the weekend and they got her urgently, coming out to the car and helped carry her in. All the staff were gentle and caring. Dr. Lee took time to explain findings and never pressured me to make a quick decision. She recovered completely and I brought her home today. That's two cats and two dogs they've cared for over the years. I really got lucky when I picked them out of the phone book all those years ago. Read Less

A couple weeks ago, I went to a veterinarian close to my home in Shoreline. I've been here in Seattle less than 2 years and just didn't know where to go. The veterinarian there had little-to-no connection to me or my dog, Buster. It seemed just ok at the time, and overpriced, but what are you gonna do?A week later, I met someone who raved about Dr. Gomez and West Seattle Animal Hospital, so I took Buster there for a second opinion.Let me tell you: NIGHT AND DAY folks! Dr. Gomez is a truly amazing veterinarian and human being. Her compassion and thoroughness took my concerns and Buster's health BEYOND my hopes and expectations. My dog is 18 years old and has been in great shape his entire life. But recently  have been "issues" and a seemingly rapid decline in his overall health and mobility. -Thinking that he might be on his way over the rainbow bridge, I NEED someone professional, with a heart, to BE THERE when it's time to let him go and possibly euthanize him. I was NOT looking for a "He'll be fine" attitude. I want the truth and to know what we're really dealing with. Dr. Gomez was incredibly thorough in looking through all of his previous vet. records (in front of me...not in some back office), asking many questions, providing me with well-informed answers, as well as simply SITTING ON THE FLOOR with Buster to keep him calm and more comfortable. NEVER has a vet. done this before. I know I will be a total mess when the time comes to let my companion go. I have not one shred of doubt that Dr. Gomez is the right choice for Buster's care now and moving forward, as well as to be the one to assist with Buster's "letting go"...when the time comes. We've been taking our Poodle to West Seattle Animal Hospital for the past three years. Dr Gomez is amazing - she does all exams on the floor, taking the time to build a rapport with Jasper before even touching him to begin an exam. She is respectful of the human members of our family, too, and has been open to our ideas about atypical approaches to care (i. e. we wanted to delay neutering, and test titers rather than assume vaccinations are needed on a strict schedule. )  I especially appreciate that she will give an honest assessment of the pros and cons of each of our ideas, using her knowledge and experience to truly analyze the approach, rather than unthinkingly adhering to any particular "party line" about appropriate care. It is convenient that this practice is open 7 days a week, and into the early evenings. The office staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby can be somewhat chaotic, but they do a good job of getting incoming patients into exam rooms quickly. Four stars instead of five because the "bedside manner" of the various vets seems to vary quite a bit, and West Seattle Animal Hospital as a whole is a little big and impersonal for my taste. We would switch to Lien Animal Clinic (highly recommended by our Vet friend), or follow her, if practical, if Dr Gomez were to leave this practice. Read Less

We've been fans of West Seattle Animal Hospital for over 20 years.  This group of veterinarians, nurses and staff are top notch!  Props to Dr. Quincy and Gomez!We started coming here when we lived in West Seattle, but as we've moved around King County (from Issaquah to Greenlake and places in between), we still take our pets here.What I love about WSAH, is their hours.  They're open everyday and in to the early evening, including weekends, which makes it easy for us to make and get appointments for our girls.We've never had a bad experience and I feel they tell it like it is.  When we've gotten estimates for procedures, they always offer  "low" to "high" estimates, so there's not too much of a surprise.WSAH, you have lifelong customers with us!  Thanks for taking such great, compassionate care of our fur babies! After searching through various sites for reviews I decided to take my cat, who was having some health issues, here. Over the course of two weeks I had three different appointments with three different veterinarians with each experience being a positive one.Each vet made my many questions feel reasonable, rather than like a burden, and gave me honest and direct answers. Everyone there, front desk staff included, made my very stressful time a little easier. And, of course, my cat was well taken care of because of their knowledge and treatments.Their schedule also seems to allow room for last minute appointments which is another big plus. If you're unsure of where to take your pet or need a an appointment immediately, definitely consider this place as a first option. Read Less

I had a particularly good experience here with Erin, the nurse. It was late on a Saturday night right before closing and I called because my poor little schnoodle was vomiting repeatedly. I was freaked out because it was the weekend and I was not looking forward to going to an emergency clinic. Even though it was time to close, Erin talked me down off the ledge and the info that he gave me was spot on. He did this all in a very calm, collected way and on top of that, made me feel like he had all the time in the world to help me. Normally we go to Lien, but this office has been perfect for grooming, last minute appts, and weekend/evening availability. Dr. Gomez is great! Had a kitty with FIP (horrible, incurable, untestable disease) and had to put our sweet guy down one weekend when Lien was closed. Dr. Gomez was very loving and understanding and gave us lots of time with our little dude after we had to let him go. Ugh. I don't know how vets do it! But Dr. Gomez does it well. Read Less

We took our newly adopted dog here for her wellness exam because we are new to the area and received a coupon in the mail for a free exam. Such a great idea, so we made an appointment. The front office gals were friendly and after some paperwork and about ten minutes wait we were taken back to an exam room. After a little wait our vet or vet assistant came in and began the exam, but did not introduce themselves and was not very personable. She was very educated about dogs and dog behavior which was helpful, but she seemed to have a hard time explaining and relating information to us. She could relate more to our dog than to us and after the exam was over and we left I felt like we were just another client that they would soon forget. Read Less

Dr.Saks is amazing. We had seen her before with our older chihuahua, The Hulk, for some pain he was experiencing and she was very thorough, gently and kind. We went in this time with our 6 year old chihuahua, Chloe danger, for knee problems. She was limping with her back left leg in a lot of pain. We explained that she had a history of this and dr.saks listened and did her own examination. She explained what was going on in great detail and was very sweet and gentle with our little one. She also has a cataracts and we showed her the medicine Chloe was given before. She wasn't familiar with it and wasn't sure we needed to give it to her. HERE'S the MOST amazing part. The next day she called and said she has done some more research and talked to an eye specialist. After the research she found a drop we should give her and called in the prescription. She went above and beyond. She definitely didn't have to research that or put in the time to call and explain her findings. She wonderful and I feel so comfortable taking our babies to someone who cares that much about their comfort and well being. Read Less

This is my first time going to any sort of animal hospital because I recently adopted a furry new friend that was due for a dental cleaning. The rescue that I adopted her from recommended me to go here so I did and everybody was very helpful in making this an easy transaction. They left a reminder voicemail to remind me of my appointment and to not feed my dog anything after a certain time before dropping her off, squeezed her in for some shots the same day since it was almost due, & gave me a detailed call when she was done to explain to me everything that was performed and was informative on how to take care of her afterwards. I like this location, it's kind of a bitch of cross that narrow West Seattle bridge to get here, but it's in a nice location with plenty of free street parking (or at least at the times I went). In case you miss the sign because it shares a building with multiple businesses, it's right across from QFC on the street floor that is right there when you walk in the doors. I typically hate going to the doctors  or any form of healthcare industry, but everybody was very upbeat and friendly so it made my visit more enjoyable because it seems like everybody has pets of their own and is excited to see every pet that walks in.Thank you for taking care of Eevee's teeth, she is one happy camper with clean teeth now! All the staff there are attentive and caring. The service is exceptional and they always show true caring for all pets. But the best part are of course the Veterinary Doctors who are very special. The vets there show true love in their dealings with animals. It is evident that they take their calling seriously. For them animals are always important live critters that need special care and help and assistance sometimes. My sweet boy Brooklyn only attended WSAH once and was there for about 2 hours. His issue was quite severe so was moved to ACCES. Sadly, he passed away that evening. Yesterday I received a card in the mail from the staff at WSAH, which they all signed personally, giving me their condolences. How kind! It touched my heart. When I'm ready for a new puppy, we'll definitely be going to WSAH. What a special group of people! Side note: ACCES was also wonderful - incredible and compassionate staff.
