I was referred to this veterinarian by Safe Rescue cat shelter when my previous vet to see my very sick cat in a reasonable time frame. These people saw him the very next day. He seemed so deathly ill that their recommendation was to put him down. He had FeLV. At that time I agreed because he was almost in a coma, face planted down in the exam table not moving, not very responsive to his environment. But they sent blood off to the lab for a work up and gave him an IV antibiotic. We had scheduled today for euthanasia but he rallied in the last to days so much that I brought him in but told them I di d not want to put him down and wanted to try a human antiviral drug on him that had been effective for seven out of seven cats in the one small study that existed and those cats had zero side effects. One of them even developed antibodies and was able to hold the virus repressed after treatment. I brought her a synopsis of the study and she looked it up and agreed to give it a try. She also talked to other vets in the community and found some of them were already using this treatment. This vet clinic has enough doctors and facilities that you can get your pet in fast, they are more reasonably priced than my old vet, about half as much actually, and they are willing to listen which I've found to be rare in doctors, whether they be people or pet doctors, and when I walked in everyone there was familiar with my pet. All and all I can't express my appreciation for these people adequately. I wish I could find people doctors this good! Read Less

I started taking both of my huskies here about a year ago and we have had nothing but great experiences every time we’ve been in. The staff is super friendly and helpful along with a clean and welcoming facility. We have done 2 major surgeries along with regular checkups and shots with all great outcomes. They usually can get you in right away or with a very brief waiting period. The staff here at cascade pet hospital is outstanding and they are all very well loved by my pets! I highly recommend them. We switched vets to Cascade after moving further north, and they've been phenomenal so far. If one of our dogs is sick they've always been able to schedule an appointment the same or next day, prices are much lower than our old vet, we've never had to wait in the lobby, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I had to rush my puppy to the emergency room and for 36 hours he stayed there before coming home with prescriptions. It cost me over $1,200 and after a day home he started getting worse. Dr. Rudolph saw him on very short notice (same day I called), gave him the CORRECT prescription (which he did not have), and did it all for an absolute FRACTION of the price. I don't know what we did to deserve a vet like this in our life, but I can guarantee you my wife and I will drive across the city for the rest of our lives to see them, and only them, for any pets we bring into our household. Not to mention the other technicians and receptionists were equally as caring and friendly. There was no judgement and we received immediate help in a time where my wife and I were very stressed out. On top of all that we received two phone calls, one that night and one the next morning just checking up on my puppy. If you're looking for a clinic that cares more about the animals than their paycheck, I think you have found your home.Read Less

I really can't say enough about Cascade Pet Hospital. My dog goes apey when we pull up. He's actually happy to be getting his monthly shot or his nails trimmed. The staff are excellent when it comes to keeping me informed and take time in explaining any and everything going on with him. Our cat, Sissy, has been having chronic issues with mysterious hot spots and pain for about a year now. After trying about a million things and seeing one practitioner after another, we were finally referred to Dr. Rudolf for chiropractic care. Immediately, the adjustment started making a huge difference in Sissy's ability to move, and she visibly felt better. This office has been a godsend, and the staff is all very nice. They always let us stay as long as we need to in the room if we're waiting for a ride, and have assisted us on numerous occasions with clean-up when our cat had some anxiety and peed in the carrier on the way there (the only downside is how far the clinic is from our house!). The services are quite affordable as well, compared with most vet bills. I highly recommend Dr. Rudolf for chiropractic care- it might make a huge difference in your pet's wellbeing. Read Less

When Pixie wouldn't go to a male vet I looked around for a female vet who also did chiropractic and acupuncture. Dr. Rudolph fit the bill. Changed to this vet after not getting good service at another vet. I should have changed earlier. Unfortunately it was discovered my dog had bone cancer. Cascade was very supportive and helped in giving my dog a few more months until the inevitable happened and we had to put her down. They were very helpful in that too. It's been a month now and I still look around for the dog (out of habit). Cascade sent a nice card afterwards. Still trying to decide if and when we get a new companion. I've gone through this a number of times and it doesn't get any easier. I've always ended up with a new dog, but as I get older, I'm starting to wonder if I can keep up with them anymore. Love this vet. The staff is very nice and personable. My sweet dog was just diagnosed with cancer, a tumor. Dr. Snyder did a wonderful job and was able to remove all of it! I was also a bit of a freak afterwards and called almost daily. They were patient with me and let me come in as often as I wanted to look at her incision.Also, my dog popped one of her incisions over the weekend. Cascade Pet Hospital partners with an Emergency Vet and I was able to send in a photo for them to look at, to see if it's necessary to bring her in (and it wasn't.) That probably saved me a couple hundred dollars right there.They are very good about trying to keep costs low and don't try to get you to do tests that aren't 100% necessary. Read Less

Wow, moved here from SF. Was referred to Dr. Rudolf by my doggie day care provider. Their location is not super convenient, but I am glad we made the trek. I called once and left a message for Dr. Rudolf. She called back the same day and I missed her call. I called a couple days later and she personally answered the phone. We determined that all I needed were a couple booster shots for my boys and that I didn't need an appointment. We went in the following day and were greeted by a lovely, spirited, vet-tech/receptionist named Faith. Before I knew it, both pooches were immunized and the smallest Vet bill EVER, we were on our way. Can't say enough nice things and I am glad we made the trek. Read Less

Edit: I received a call from Dr.Rudolf about this review and due to her concern about the situation I have changed this review from 2 stars to 4 stars. I will likely return to this vet in the future. I used this clinic for a few years and I thought they were pretty good. I liked Dr.Rudolf and the other vet tecs and office staff were always nice and friendly. It was after my most recent visit I decided to find another vet. I naively relied on them to take care of my cat, but it turns out they were not giving her feline leukemia vaccine. I know many of my friends cats that have died from this easily preventible disease and they were not even recommending this shot. This alone was enough to switch, but on this same visit I had the unfortunate Dr. Rachael Snyder. While she was perfectly pleasant to me, she should know that doors are not sound proof and swearing at her staff is not appropriate. I will take my business to a vet that does not abuse the staff. Started coming here when our older dog developed an inoperable tumor, and we figured it was probably time to move away from Banfield (where we had good experiences, honestly) and seek a more personalized vet experience for her evolving condition. Dr Ulrike Rudolph really is the vet we always wanted and all our pets deserve. She is kind, thorough, funny, honest, and never talks down to you. She will give it to you straight, but always with plans of attack to help your pet live the best life. She also refreshingly combines both traditional and alternative medicine principles to find the best solution (like chiro and acupuncture which was miraculous in helping our dog with debilitating back pain). Our old girl lived more than another year with the help of Dr. Rudolph and her crew, and Cascade was who we called when we knew it was time to let her go. Even in that, our veterinary extended family (and we do think of them this way) was compassionate and infinitely patient and loving with us that day--they came to our home, were so gentle with her, and I will always be grateful. For the third time, yelp decided to filter all my reviews about this amazing pet hospital. This is by far the best pet hospital I've been to. The employees here are friendly and knowledgeable. Unlike some other pet hospitals I've been to they actually take really good care of your pet. The cost of taking care of your pet is affordable. Staff was very nice and helpful, no complaints there.However, their prices were exorbitant. Initial checkup, two shots, an earmite medication my 9 month kitten very likely may not need (they tested her negative there): $126. Ok, alright, not bad. Estimate for her spay: $426, not including the bloodwork, which is $60 the day of the spay or $30 beforehand! So, do they tape the whole thing and throw a cat mitzah in their honor for graduating to adulthood? I mentioned that I saw a coupon for them in Valpack (I was wrong, different vet) and then they told me about the kitten package, 15% off services. I love my cat, but I can't drop that much cash when other vets charge far, far less.To add insult to injury, my cat picked up the most aggressive fleas I've ever encountered there. Read Less

Dr. Rudolph is the only vet I will bring my dogs to. She treats and cares for them as though they were her own pets and she's incredibly knowledgable. I have a dog that has seizures and she is the only vet in town that has been able to stabilize my pup for the long term. I think seattle is lucky to have her. Read Less

The entire staff at Cascade Pet Hospital is incredible. You can tell that each member of the staff really loves animals and I feel like they are as invested in my cat as I am. Every time I bring my cat in, the whole staff says hello to her and asks how she is doing. With another cat of mine that sadly passed away to FIP, both doctors took the time to answer my wife and my questions succinctly and make sure that we understood what was happening, what our choices were, and what we should expect. Dr. Ulrike Rudolf is just AMAZING and her whole staff is super friendly! There aren't very many vets around here that practice both alternative and complimentary medicine for pets and it makes such a difference when you combine the two! My mini wiener dog Oona is a patient who has received two acupuncture visits with some chiropractic (two weeks ago was not walking or eating, now is like a brand new puppy!) I hate registering for websites, but I just have to write something to defend the amazing staff at Cascade and I hope other Cascade fans will do the same. After disappointing visits to most North Seattle vets a friend recommended Cascade Pet Hospital. That was December of 2003. Dr. Hansen and the Cascade staff cared for Bruno for the next 7 years and when a new doctor came I was very anxious. My Bruno was 14 years old and the transition was hard.... FOR ME. Bruno LOVED Dr. Rudolf and I was so relieved. She is knowledgeable and compassionate. She got right down on the floor with my old guy and pet him and loved him and gave him the best medical treatment possible. Last week I had to put sweet Bruno to sleep. Seizures, brain tumor, rapid physical and mental decline meant it was time. Friends gave me numbers for people who could come to my home for his farewell, but I chose to bring him to Cascade Pet Hospital to say goodbye. After seven years of loving care I trusted them with the final act of loving care. Thank you Rebecca. When I'm ready to adopt another dog I will go straight to Dr. Rudolf and the staff at Cascade for the best care in Seattle. Read Less

After reading a few of the reviews here I can hardly believe we are talking about the same clinic. My husband and I have been taking our dogs to Cascade for the past four years now and have nothing but good things to say about our experience there. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and you would be hard pressed to find a doctor as compassionate and caring as Dr. Hansen. Before we lost our 14 yr old dog last year to cancer, Dr. Hansen not only went over all of our treatment options but took the time to talk to us about how we could make the most of our time left with her. She was not only concerned about making sure our dog was as comfortable as possible but she also cared about how we were doing and helped us through the difficult process. Terrible place to take an animal that has serious problems. I took my 7 yr old cat in and they diagnosed him with kidney disease. They didn't go over ANY treatment options. They just gave me pills to help his appetite. They are careless and insensitive with animals. Take your sick animal anywhere other than here. Read Less
