I have been a client of this clinic off and on for twenty years. Some of my cats have received very good care from Cats Exclusive. The vets I have dealt with there have for the most part been knowledgable and competent. My issues with Cats Exclusive are:- Turnover. I like having a longterm relationship with a vet, but here the relationship is with the clinic, not the vet. I'll start seeing one of their staff vets, like him or her, and then find that he/she has moved on and I have to start over with a new vet. This has happened several times over the years. I can't even remember the names of some of the vets who treated my cats.- Cost. This clinic is expensive. They are also sometimes a little, um, overly businesslike in their dealings with clients. I have spent literally thousands upon thousands of dollars there over the years, and have never, ever not paid a bill, but they still treat me like I'm potentially going to stiff them. It's another way in which I feel that there is a certain lack of commitment to client relationships and client satisfaction. I've been with them for years, but I don't seem to be recognized as a longtime and loyal client. I was even told once that I could not pick up a cat's ashes until I'd paid the balance due of $4 from his euthanization. I no longer remember why there was a $4 balance due, but I will never forget fighting back tears while digging through my wallet for four lousy bucks while the receptionist stood there with my cat's ashes. - Lack of a customer service orientation. I get that their focus is on their patients more than their patients' owners, and I don't mind that, but I really have wished on more than one occasion that they would give me even some small indication that they value my business and value me as a client. My worst experience with Cats Exclusive was a time when I found and rescued a stray kitten with a prolapsed rectum. I took her to the clinic on my way to work the morning I found her, and asked them to examine her, give her a bath and let me know what her prognosis was. They insisted that I had to pay up front, because apparently they thought I was just going to abandon her there (another indication that, despite the fact that I'd been their client for over a decade at that point, they really didn't know me at all). So I left a hefty deposit with them, went to work, and called them later in the day for an update. The vet who examined the kitten got on the phone with me and rather coldly suggested that the kitten was in bad shape and since she was a stray it would probably be better to just put her down. Again... clearly, they had really never bothered to get to know me. I informed them that I had no intention of putting her down, and that I would be there to get her shortly. I left work, went and got her, and took her to another vet to be cared for. It took a long time and a lot of effort (and a lot of money) to get her well, but she did eventually get well, and she lived a long and happy life with me. I didn't return to Cats Exclusive for a couple of years after that incident, because it left such a bad taste in my mouth.I have recently moved to another part of the Puget Sound region and I will likely switch to a vet that's closer to my new home. I wish I could say that I'm so loyal to Cats Exclusive that I would drive any distance to get my cats cared for there, but that's just not the case. I am no more loyal to them than they are to me, which is to say, not particularly. Read Less
