We liked the vets here and some of the techs were very nice. I say some. Our dog split one of his nails right down the middle and his quick was exposed, so we called Banfield in the afternoon of the same day to get an appointment in. We told the tech on the phone that his nail was split right down the middle, quick exposed and still bleeding, they scheduled an appointment for an hour later. My husband takes our dog into the Banfield hospital on time and they turn him away at the front desk saying it's too late in the day to fix it. Well then, why didn't you say that on the phone and schedule for another day for his appointment? OR just explain that it's too late in the day for this treatment. No bandage to wrap up his paw, nothing. I'm very disappointed with how they turned us away even though they were the ones who scheduled the appointment. Our pup didn't get a chance to see the vet. We ended up getting him all fixed up elsewhere same day. Read Less

Very happy with the staff and Dr Crawford. My dog Charlie does not do well with people he doesn't know and he didn't even curl up his lip to any of the staff. Dr. Crawford got down on the floor with them and they loved him! All concerns I had were addressed and I received a call the same day with their blood work just to let me know everything was ok. I appreciate the warmth and caring they showed me and my babies. Thank you! Read Less

Costly but a God send when your fur baby needs care now. Our regular vet doesn't do surgeries so we have been here a couple times. Always clean, friendly and they got our baby in and out quickly.

I highly recommend to anyone to not use this vet or banfield wellness plans. My dog has some very serious health problems, and while the vet decided to hunt and peck for a solution (at the tune of nearly $1000) she got so bad we had to have her put to sleep. Before making this painful decision, we had been taking many videos and attempting to contact the doctor over the course of days when we were all but ignored. The most insulting part of all is that banfield insists on us finishing up the payments on the wellness plan before cancellation. This is a company I genuinely regret doing business with. Read Less

SCAM ARTISTS! prepare to be extorted using your love for your pet against you! they sold me a x-ray and recomended a $1500 surgical procedure to remove what might be cancer. they "wouldn't be able to know for sure untill it is removed and sent to the lab"... long story short it was a rash that needed some $10 cortizone cream. total scam! needs less than 1 star. oh and you cant get out of your plan without paying for any "free" services used. availibility is terrible too. They really care about me and my pet. They've been really helpful making sure we fulfill all the requirements to fly my cat with me to Hawaii. They've been great about explaining things and making sure I understand and answering all of my questions. All the staff I've interacted with have been knowledgeable, competent, and personable. I really appreciate everyone's efforts in trying to make me and my cat, even though he can be difficult to handle, as comfortable as possible while also being safe. Read Less

Front office staff: Seems ok overall, although one member of staff in particular is apathetic and seems to not want to provide the level of customer service that I have experienced at other Banfield vet hospitals. Nurses/Assistants:Worked with 2 directly. 1 was ok ,the other was exceptional.Vets: Talked with 2 directly. 1 was unsatisfactory, the other was very nice.Issues with service:My wife and I have 2 dogs, and have had unsatisfactory experiences with both at this Banfield. My female dog was brought in for a teeth cleaning and was dropped off at 7:30 AM. At 4:30 PM, I called and was told that she wouldn't be ready until 6:00. When I got there to pick her up, her entire front was matted and covered in drool. I had to ask for wipes to clean her up, and couldn't believe that they would release her looking like that. When I asked why she wasn't ready earlier, considering her appointment was so much earlier that morning. The only response I got was that she was finished with later. My male dog has other issues, he began to have seizures in May and our original Banfield vet had a plan put together for him. When we arrive at the Silverdale location, the new vet that we met was not observant or listening to what we had to say. I felt like I was being talked at instead of being spoken to. Secondly, we called yesterday at 12:00 pm  to get his medicine sent to our nearest pharmacy, only to be told that there was only 1 Vet available and that he was running from exam room to exam room, so he would not be able to call us to confirm or send it for a few hours. I notified the staff at Silverdale that my dog had run out of medication and that t was urgent that it get refilled since he has seizures, and was told that the Vet will definitely call me. I immediately called our previous Banfield Vet Hospital 1100 miles away and asked them to send the prescription. Our previous Vet was in surgery, but the tech reassured us that the call would be made in the early afternoon to ensure that our dog would be able to get his meds before their office and the pharmacy closed. At 4:00 pm i got the confirmation that the script from the Yorba Linda, CA location  arrived and I was able to pick up. This morning we finally received a call from the vet at the Silverdale location stating that it looks like the Yorba Linda location already took care of it and asked if we still needed the medication.At this point we are done, and with the next closest location being in Tacoma, and having to pay a toll to get there; the next call to Banfield we are going to make is to corporate to end our wellness plans with both of our dogs. Dissatisfied is an understatement and it is unfortunate the level of care from the staff at this location is not anywhere near the previous location. Read Less

Moved here from out of state with my epileptic dog. I went to the Banfield closest to where we lived previously before we moved and we absolutely loved the doctor and the staff there. We tried the Silverdale location and informed them that our dog is highly reactive, they brought us into an exam room that shares a wall with all of the yelping dogs in the groomer. From there, the vet tried to rough house with my 85 lb dog who did not know this vet, and was overloaded with medication. We werent thrillled with this, and furthermore, the vet deviated from the original plan. My dog has been sedated for 2 months and it should have only been 1 month per my previous vet's plan. They said the only way we could ween him off of one of the 2 medications was to do a $180 blood test that wasn't included in the 6 blood tests I pay for each year on his plan. I didn't have the money at the time so they scheduled me for a time when I "would have the money" to pay for this blood test. In the meantime, they had me keep his medication levels the same despite the fact that it is liver damaging and that he is uncoordinated and sick all the time. We went to an established vet out in Shelton that took one look at him and said he doesn't need to be on both medications. She gave us a plan to slowly take him off one of the meds, and so we cancelled the blood test with Banfield. Furthermore, we tried to call to get a prescription refilled for him, and they never called us back. We had to call our previous vet that is 1100 miles away and they called our local pharmacy; within 2 hours we had his meds. This location is the only Banfield on this side of the water so getting an appointment when you have an immediate concern is not an option, either. I cannot believe the level of disservice that this place delivers. If they can't serve the demand, build another location in Kitsap. We would have to pay a toll to go.to the next nearest Banfield which is a 45 min drive. Super unimpressed! Read Less

Today I brought my dog and cat into Banfield to have bloodwork pulled from my animals for rabies antibody testing so I can being my animals into Hawaii for a Navy Transfer.3 weeks ago I gave them paper work specifically that had instructions for them on how to prepare and ship the blood samples.  Those instructions where specifically left with them for them to be prepared when the time had come to withdrawl the blood and send it to the lab.They did not keep the paper work for the testing and in result they were not ready to prepare the bloodwork which would of cost be around $75 a pet to get the bloodwork done, and instead pretty much forced me to spend $275 per pet to have a lab that was significantly more expensive to complete the testing.They were totally set up for success, and flushed it down the toilet and in turn cost a customer to spend 5 times the amount that was required. I purchased pet coverage for 2 dogs as one is a senior. they were not very helpful in regard to offering an appt when one needed to be seen. Far to busy. Also the vet was not available to talk or go over what I wanted. I felt they tried to get me to do more than I perceived my pets needed. So for those reasons I do not recommend this particular banfield hospital. I have gone to others where I didn't have this experience. Beware unless they change their processes they just want your money instead of paying for services because they care for the pet. Read Less

The ladies behind the counter are always friendly with my dogs (especially the lady with the scarf- i don't remember her name) and one of the vets even sits on the floor for examinations and shots! I love that. It makes getting vaccines much less stressful for them. Sometimes you have to wait at the counter, but I feel like it's because they're very busy. We haven't gone in for any illnesses or injuries, so my experiences are purely from routine checkups and vaccinations.Read Less

Called today September 9th, and told our pet will be ready for pickup next week on September 14. OK. NOW this is where heartless comes in. You know due to their front desk staff you get 2 stars. I have a 8 month old Staffordshire who I brought in to be microchipped. However their vets in general have me scratching my head. My animal is a rescue who works on trust brought up with lots of treats and cooing ( yes I understand that looks like we coddle her but I assure you with her past it is extremely necessary. ). She doesn't like people touching her face and hates needles. I gave the vet the information and told her that she may need to be held by someone so she doesn't try to jump away from them. After waiting awhile for her to come out a lady came out to talk to me about how she didn't like the needle so the first time she jumped and the needle went right through her skin! Of course she jumped I warned you that she may need to be held because she isn't with me or my fiancé and doesn't know any of them. I would feel better if she hadn't then responded with "where did you get her anyway, Mexico?". That question is extremely out of line and doesn't have anything to do with her health? I won't be back. But again your front staff were extremely helpful and nice so they get the stars. Not your vet staff. When I bring an animal to a vet I expect more care to be taken especially when given directions due to her past. Read Less

My dog was sick- for a working bred German shepherd that was ball obsessed to not eat drink or play with his ball and just sleep for two days it was bad. I got him in as a walk in and the doctor was able to diagnose him from the environment information I was able to give. It was a good price for the services offered, the staff was all friendly and took my concerns seriously, and the upfront personnel were understanding. Dr. Crawford was great and explained everything for my husband (whom has not had veterinary training like me) to do when I wasn't home on my one night shift and it was an overall great experience. Even my dog liked it and that's saying something since he was feeing crummy! Thank you banefield! Read Less

I love Banfield! Their Wellness Plans are awesome! I love being able to walk in and not pay for the visit because it is covered under their plan. Because of Banfield my cat with asthma was able to get his medicine cheap, another cat got medicine in time so that she wouldn't become blind in her one eye, my kitten got treated for his feline kennel cough, and my special needs cat is thriving. Another bonus is that you can manage their health records online. Read Less

I just moved to the area and needed to take my dogs in to get their annual checks. The staff was very polite and welcoming of my dogs. The Vet Tech was very informative about what they were going to do that day and discussed with me what other services they provide. The Vet was extremely friendly and you could tell truly loved animals. Was very informative as well and even gave us some vaccinations for our pets on the first day. Will definitely be going back for any of pet needs. Read Less

We liked the vets here and some of the techs were very nice. I say some. Moved here from out of state with my epileptic dog. I went to the Banfield closest to where we lived previously before we moved and we absolutely loved the doctor and the staff there. We tried the Silverdale location and informed them that our dog is highly reactive, they brought us into an exam room that shares a wall with all of the yelping dogs in the groomer. From there, the vet tried to rough house with my 85 lb dog who did not know this vet, and was overloaded with medication. We werent thrillled with this, and furthermore, the vet deviated from the original plan. My dog has been sedated for 2 months and it should have only been 1 month per my previous vet's plan. They said the only way we could ween him off of one of the 2 medications was to do a $180 blood test that wasn't included in the 6 blood tests I pay for each year on his plan. I didn't have the money at the time so they scheduled me for a time when I "would have the money" to pay for this blood test. In the meantime, they had me keep his medication levels the same despite the fact that it is liver damaging and that he is uncoordinated and sick all the time. We went to an established vet out in Shelton that took one look at him and said he doesn't need to be on both medications. She gave us a plan to slowly take him off one of the meds, and so we cancelled the blood test with Banfield. Furthermore, we tried to call to get a prescription refilled for him, and they never called us back. We had to call our previous vet that is 1100 miles away and they called our local pharmacy; within 2 hours we had his meds. This location is the only Banfield on this side of the water so getting an appointment when you have an immediate concern is not an option, either. I cannot believe the level of disservice that this place delivers. If they can't serve the demand, build another location in Kitsap. We would have to pay a toll to go.to the next nearest Banfield which is a 45 min drive. Super unimpressed! Read Less

Today I brought my dog and cat into Banfield to have bloodwork pulled from my animals for rabies antibody testing so I can being my animals into Hawaii for a Navy Transfer.3 weeks ago I gave them paper work specifically that had instructions for them on how to prepare and ship the blood samples.  Those instructions where specifically left with them for them to be prepared when the time had come to withdrawl the blood and send it to the lab.They did not keep the paper work for the testing and in result they were not ready to prepare the bloodwork which would of cost be around $75 a pet to get the bloodwork done, and instead pretty much forced me to spend $275 per pet to have a lab that was significantly more expensive to complete the testing.They were totally set up for success, and flushed it down the toilet and in turn cost a customer to spend 5 times the amount that was required. I purchased pet coverage for 2 dogs as one is a senior. they were not very helpful in regard to offering an appt when one needed to be seen. Far to busy. Also the vet was not available to talk or go over what I wanted. I felt they tried to get me to do more than I perceived my pets needed. So for those reasons I do not recommend this particular banfield hospital. I have gone to others where I didn't have this experience. Beware unless they change their processes they just want your money instead of paying for services because they care for the pet. Read Less

The ladies behind the counter are always friendly with my dogs (especially the lady with the scarf- i don't remember her name) and one of the vets even sits on the floor for examinations and shots! I love that. It makes getting vaccines much less stressful for them. Sometimes you have to wait at the counter, but I feel like it's because they're very busy. We haven't gone in for any illnesses or injuries, so my experiences are purely from routine checkups and vaccinations.Read Less

You know due to their front desk staff you get 2 stars. I have a 8 month old Staffordshire who I brought in to be microchipped. However their vets in general have me scratching my head. My animal is a rescue who works on trust brought up with lots of treats and cooing ( yes I understand that looks like we coddle her but I assure you with her past it is extremely necessary. ). She doesn't like people touching her face and hates needles. I gave the vet the information and told her that she may need to be held by someone so she doesn't try to jump away from them. After waiting awhile for her to come out a lady came out to talk to me about how she didn't like the needle so the first time she jumped and the needle went right through her skin! Of course she jumped I warned you that she may need to be held because she isn't with me or my fiancé and doesn't know any of them. I would feel better if she hadn't then responded with "where did you get her anyway, Mexico?". That question is extremely out of line and doesn't have anything to do with her health? I won't be back. But again your front staff were extremely helpful and nice so they get the stars. Not your vet staff. When I bring an animal to a vet I expect more care to be taken especially when given directions due to her past. Read Less

My dog was sick- for a working bred German shepherd that was ball obsessed to not eat drink or play with his ball and just sleep for two days it was bad. I got him in as a walk in and the doctor was able to diagnose him from the environment information I was able to give. It was a good price for the services offered, the staff was all friendly and took my concerns seriously, and the upfront personnel were understanding. Dr. Crawford was great and explained everything for my husband (whom has not had veterinary training like me) to do when I wasn't home on my one night shift and it was an overall great experience. Even my dog liked it and that's saying something since he was feeing crummy! Thank you banefield! Read Less

I love Banfield! Their Wellness Plans are awesome! I love being able to walk in and not pay for the visit because it is covered under their plan. Because of Banfield my cat with asthma was able to get his medicine cheap, another cat got medicine in time so that she wouldn't become blind in her one eye, my kitten got treated for his feline kennel cough, and my special needs cat is thriving. I just moved to the area and needed to take my dogs in to get their annual checks. The staff was very polite and welcoming of my dogs. The Vet Tech was very informative about what they were going to do that day and discussed with me what other services they provide. The Vet was extremely friendly and you could tell truly loved animals. Was very informative as well and even gave us some vaccinations for our pets on the first day. Will definitely be going back for any of pet needs. Read Less
