I'm new to the area and was really nervous about finding a new vet. The fact that they do a free new patient exam is AMESOME so I took my dog in to see them. The staff up front was great and really sweet. The vet tech, Harmony, that came in was fantastic. Really relatable, helpful, and down to earth. And finally our vet Dr. Ryan was seriously amazing. Very friendly and kind. He assured me that my senior citizen best bud was in great shape and was aging gracefully. My dog loved everyone and so did I. I'll 100% be going back that's definitely our new vet. Highly recommended!

Staff was very personable. I needed a new vet due to relocation to the area.
I appreciated that the veterinarian listened to my concerns and didn't just blow me off or tell me to keep waiting another six months to see if the issue resolved. Got an antibiotic shot and we were on our way which finally cleared up the upper respiratory infection my kitty had been struggling with for over 6 months.
I also appreciated that he was honest with some of the costs and didn't recommend costly tests that were not likely to result in a different outcome from trying the antibiotic.

My husband and I made an appointment for our Boxer mix after he had gotten bitten by other dogs. At the time of the incident we cleaned and wrapped his wounds, and a week later he was scabbing nicely ...
My husband and I made an appointment for our Boxer mix after he had gotten bitten by other dogs. At the time of the incident we cleaned and wrapped his wounds, and a week later he was scabbing nicely with no visible signs of infection, but his behavior had changed. As much as we don't trust most doctors, human or otherwise, because of our past experiences with them, we made an appointment just to explore if he may be having an emotional response to the trauma he'd gone through.
We called and got an appointment time the very next day. The vet tech was very knowledgeable and suggested that we give our dogs their boosters at this time. The vet agreed that the problem may be psychological but he wanted to rule out physical pain first. He prescribed an anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic just to be safe, but recommended holding off on our Boxer's booster shots in case he might have an adverse reaction to something in the pills.
The vet tech suggested that since we had our Chihuahua mix with us (we didn't want to leave her in an empty house by herself) and that since our Boxer wasn't getting his shots today that we could update our little dog's shots while we had her there instead.
After initially being hesitant about a vet visit, we had a great experience with the veterinarian, a pleasant interaction with the vet tech, quick service at our appointment time, two prescriptions for our Boxer, and two booster shots for our Chihuahua for less than half the cost I was anticipating. AND the office called this morning to see how our Boxer had been adjusting to his prescriptions!
This office has blown us away, and as long as we live here, we will sing their praises and never go anywhere else for our fur babies.

Everyone at VCA Olympic Animal Hospital is fantastic; from reception, to the vet techs, to Dr. Dammeyer - and the other vet we saw, Dr. Ryan. We've had our golden retriever a few times in the last year, from a normal yearly checkup, to a pair of emergencies - a split nail and a crazy staph infection that came out of nowhere.
Each time, the staff there has been fantastic - greeting us and our dog like we're family, taking care of us like we're family - and never, ever letting us leave without answering all of our questions (in fact. Dr. Ryan was so thorough in his explanation that we almost wanted him to stop talking -- it's one hell of a great "problem" to have -- an animal medical professional who wants to make sure you know exactly what is going on and exactly how they're going to treat it?! It was fabulous!)
We're moving soon and we won't have our pets back again, but I can't stress enough how great VCA Olympic has been to us. The prices were very reasonable (especially coming from Denver, where we usually paid about two to three times what we paid here!), the staff friendly, thorough, and you can tell right from the beginning that they really, really care about their patients and their families.

I appreciated that the veterinarian listened to my concerns and didn't just blow me off or tell me to keep waiting another six months to see if the issue resolved.
