Wonderful place to have your pet's needs taken care of. We have had our cats and a bunny neutered here. Unfortunately we also had to have one of our dear sweet cats put down here. We and our cat were treated with love and compassion. Beautiful facility staffed with loving and caring people. Open Monday-Friday 7am-6pm Their services include preventive care and wellness exams, dentistry, internal medicine and surgery, radiology, diagnostic labwork, vaccines, pharmacy, microchips and flea treatments. This practice is VERY busy yet has eliminated Saturday hours. I had a very sick kitten and the earliest they could get us in was 5 days. And then this weekend my dog collapsed on Friday night so I had to take him to our new vet Saturday morning. I've been forced essentially to take my business elsewhere, because they just aren't there for me when I need them. Read Less

I've come here for over 10 years now. I've used other vets as well when I lived in Bremerton and have periodically needed emergency services from Pilchuck. This is by far the best place. All the vets do great work and it's really fairly priced. All the staff seems very passionate about their work. I do think Dr. Thomson needs to be a better listener. She talks a mile a minute and when you finally are able to ask a question or voice what you see happening, she starts answering before you've completed your thought. So anyway, I don't see her anymore. Her work is good and she's nice, but talking to her frustrates me. Read Less

Honestly worst animal hospital. Our yorkie got attacked by neighbors dog. She was bleeding and we brought her in and asked them to look at her. The women replied saying we only have one Veterinarian right now and he only does appointments. The place looked like there literally was no one there for appointments with only our car and a FedEx truck. We left that day with our Yorkie passing away. Read Less

I came in for a second opinion, not looking for a different vet. By the time I left I had decided that I would never go anywhere else but here. This clinic is extremely clean, the reception staff is very friendly and can answer any question. Dr. Black is clearly a passionate vet and is in it for a love of animals. My previous vet had told me my cat needed dental cleaning that would cost the upwards of $600. Dr. Black said that he actually doesn't need it at all, and if I had gone through them it would have only cost $300. I am so happy I found this place! Read Less

THese folks are the best pet caregivers I have ever encounteredr my 50 years or so having and taking care of my pets. My Mini Austrailian got a marrow bone lodged around his lower canine teeth and his chin. No matter what i tried, nothing worked. As it became inflamed, the pain increased. I called around to several vets who either quoted me in the thousands to remove the bone to $800.00. Or they wouldnt even give me an estimate until I brought him in. BANFIELD couldnt give a rip. In fact, they told me they were closing in 29 munutes. I even carried their pet wellness, which by the way is a total scam. Do not purchase it. Well, finally i called Clearview Vetrinary hospital who also were scheduld to close shortly after I called, byt said they would stay open for us. They didnt quote me a figure, but they said it would be affordable. Apon arrival, My dog Roper and i were greated with big smiles and the sraff treared him so gently because they knew the stress he was endurung. We were put in a privare room and immediately an older looking gentalman walked through the door and I knew instantly that he was a wonderful Vet and human being. He took my dog Roper into the surgical room, gave him short acting anastethic then proceeded to cut the bone out with a drummel. Before i knew it Roper was coming too and ended up walking out the door a half hour later, happy as a camper. The whole procedure came to a mere $204.00. And to top it off, he got a complimentery mani-pedi.I highly reccommend these folks, and intend to use them as my new regular Vet. BANFIELD must be able to loose customers because of the exorbitant prices they charge and their rediculous Well Pet Care Plan. Dr. Kim Anderson is the most knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian I've ever had the honor to work with. My great pyrenees was born with a blood disorder quite rare in dogs; though when it happens to humans it is called hemophilia which means that when you start bleeding, it is very hard to stop the bleeding. Dr. Anderson figured this out with my Emmalee when she was about 10 weeks old and I brought her for her first shots and wellness exam and to be microchipped. Dr. Anderson's insight was commendable. Over many years she provided the BEST healthcare and genuine love to my dog. I really don't know if we could have had the wonderful years together without Dr. Anderson's help. This week we had to say goodbye to Emmalee, and Dr. Anderson helped us both through that with the most love and compassion I've ever seen from a Vet; and it is difficult to express just how much gratitude that I feel toward Dr. Anderson. I recommend her beyond what any words can convey. She is just the best Vet anyone (and more importantly any pet) could possible hope for. Read Less

Will never go anywhere else. Since i first got my dog I'd bounced around to at least 4 different vets, not because of anything terrible was just trying to find somewhere closer to home that I really loved. My dog is a rescue and weary of strangers at first, particularly men, but warms up after a couple minutes. My first visit was just for vaccinations and I was hooked. Dr. Anderson walked in and my dog (not a fan of being there to begin with) had her tail tucked trying to hide. The vet completely ignored her and looked and spoke only to me casually moving closer until my dog was relaxed and then performed an exam and administered the vaccines no problem. They truly understand dog behavior and handle it perfectly. Fast forward 6 months my dog has a paw wound I was worried about and they said I could drop her off in the morning and they would make time to look at her. I felt terrible because the last time i dropped my dog off at a vet was for surgery and she was a trembling scared mess when i picked her up. Plus I wasn't sure if the male veterinarian would be examing her and she tends to be more trusting of women. However it didn't end up mattering as he (Dr Black) won her over as well! I went to get her that afternoon and she came trotting out of the backroom tail wagging. They are truly animal whisperers and animal lovers. Read Less

They always do the appropriate steps it takes to help my pets. Always saving me money by only selling me the amount I need or can afford instead of making me buy entire packages of flea drops. They open the box and just sell one dose. They sell me dog drops for my cat because its the exact same formula. And they give me a syringe and mark how much to use. The absolute best place to ensure the great health of your best friend. Recently took our dog in for a lump on his throat and was really bracing for the worst and a big bill. Dr. Black did a thorough exam and found that it was a ruptured salivary gland which is not serious if treated in a timely manner. But he went the extra mile and ran did some further testing just make sure. And without sharing the actual cost of the bill all of this cost about the same as a nice dinner out with a glass of wine or 2. The doc also gave me some great training techniques to help curb my dogs aggression towards strangers. The entire staff is also friendly and courteous. Five stars from me! Read Less

I am so grateful for the wonderful care my cat received this week at Clearview Animal Hospital. We also brought our St. Bernard here for 10 years until he passed away. Our cat has been healthy for 5 years so rarely needed to be seen by a vet. But last weekend he had to be seen by an emergency vet for a blocked urinary tract and bladder stones. It was outrageously expensive and they recommended immediate surgery for an additional $3,000 to $4,000. I had my cat transferred to Clearview Monday morning. Dr. Black considered all the options, starting with determining the type of stones. It turns out, the struvite crystals in my cat's urine can be dissolved with diet changes. No surgery needed. Dr. Black kept my cat for several days, monitoring his urine output via a catheter, controlling his pain, and giving him fluid. He was so kind to me and thorough and gentle with my cat. Total cost for 3 days in the hospital, IV fluids, medication, prescription food, and excellent care? $220. Thank you Dr. Black and the entire staff at Clearview!Read Less

My parents have been taking their pooches here for close to 20 years, so no doubt I wanted to take my own pooch to the best place around. I specifically request to make my appts. With Dr. Black because my parents highly reccomdned him (although All of the staff is very friendly and welcoming as soon as you wall in, and ready to help with all questions and concerns) Clearview animal hospital has the pets best interest, and won't pressure or convince you to spend money on unnecessary procedures. I trust their opponion and expertise. Dr. Black saved my parents thousands of dollars when another vet reccomdned extensive sugary on their dog after he was attacked by another dog. Because of this I trust Clearview when something is truly reccomdned.I even called in once because my pup was stung by some bees. Our dogs have been patients of Dr. Black since 2000 (14 years). Clearview was referred by a veterinary technician friend who worked at a different practice but took her animals to Clearview. The most amazing aspect of the practice is quality veterinary care at reasonable prices. The patients are not paying for unnecessary extras or fancy advertising or services. Nevertheless, the facilities are first rate and the care is excellent, caring, diligent, and knowledgeable. When our first dog was at the end of her life, Dr. Black was incredibly helpful, comforting, and careful. Our dog had developed a huge tumor and was bleeding internally and totally listless. Dr. Black listened to my personal dilemma concerning the huge financial costs to attempt to treat the tumor long term. After much consideration, I decided to take her to the specialists he recommended for a consult. I was literally weeping and sobbing uncontrollably each time I spoke with Dr. Black, and he took the time to answer all my questions, financial and medical, and to help me through the difficult time. I have been using their services for more than 5 years for the routine exams (vaccination, teeth cleaning and for a minor localized skin infection). I thought Dr. Black and Anderson were nice friendly people for the visits in the past. Now my oldest dog has an endocrine problem, I reassess Dr. Anderson's competency to treat my dog. Disrespectful to me as a owner who raised 3 dogs by walking them about a mile for the past 7/12 years (360 days out 365 days) safely is not a novice dog trainer. I am humble about my knowledge because there is always more to learn. When my oldest dog who was nothing but a nurturing and loving dog to her pack suddenly develops an aggression, I would suspect a physiological reason would be on the top of the list for possible reasons. My computer screen is full of my dogs pictures for the last 7/1/2 years, documenting their developments and Kodak moments. For a complicated issue, I will go elsewhere. Finally, I would like to add that their senior/veteran technician Maggie is an asset to the Clearview clinic. She helped me on the phone for an emergency situation when the clinic was busy.Read Less

They(friendly vets) are good at routine procedures (bread and butter type of tasks) such as vaccination, spay/neuter, and general check up. If your dog is overweight you will be lectured on (from the minute you walk in from the front desk person , vets and from a technician who brings out the dog at the end) as though only overfeeding is the cause for over weight problem.. Inactivity due to lack of desire and low metabolism due to low thyroid hormones are not considered, especially for an older dog. I took my dog in October for lack of desire to exercise and feeling some solid mass around her niples. Came out with a clean bill of health. Now in January 2014 she has dilated pupil, excessive drinking, and an onset of aggression which is odd when the dog has been nothing but nurturing and playful for the last 8 years. Dr. Anderson is incompetent to probe deeper questions regarding medial issues but rather focused my slacked off leader role for my dogs. She should not try to troubleshoot dog behaviors (vets in general are not well trained in this area, it is impossible for the vets know everything so I have a little expectation on this matter). I walked my dogs for a mile every day for the last 7 1/2 years. Maggie (senior technician) has been so helpful trouble shooting on the phones. I think that is why I used to go there. Read Less

I first went to this vet clinic on the recommendation of a clerk in a feed store who said they had provided excellent end of life care for her dog, who had Cushing's disease. I took my own dog there and they gave her excellent loving care for 7 years, especially as she became blind and very ill with seizures toward the end of her life. Before her blindness and seizures, Dr. Black and team had treated her for knee problems (taking old pins out of her knees), spinal pain, eye abrasions, UTIs, and tooth surgeries. They always treated my girl like their own pet, fawning over her and giving her fantastic care. And the doctors are more than happy to call you at home and have a long, thoughtful discussion with you about difficult care choices. From the moment you walk in the door to the time you spend with the vet, you know you're with people who genuinely care about you and your pet.I have two Yorkies who, like most dogs, hate going to the vet. One of them had to have major knee reconstructive surgery on both of her hind legs. Dr. Black spent quite of bit of time explaining what to expect to my husband and me, who both work in the medical industry. On the day of my dog's surgery (both times), Dr. Black took her home that night so he could monitor her pain medication. Now that's compassion and care! Every follow-up visit, my dog would run to him; she loves him! So do we. This is the best around! When I took my 6 year old toy poodle / Pomeranian mix here to get her teeth checked out they were able to help me decide what would be in her best interest. They asked me about spaying, which before I had been nervous about but I felt comfortable with allowing them to use anesthetic to do both procedures. They were also able to give me wonderful tips on how to help my dog live the best life and keep her happy and healthy. I will never take any of my animals anywhere else. These vets truly care about the animals and have great skills conveying information in an understandable fashion. I am a former employee who had to leave Clearview Animal Hospital due to a move out of state. The inside scoop is that this hospital is truly a gem. The doctors really know their stuff and they will take the time to carefully listen to their clients, they also have a lot of surgery experience even with difficult cases. “In the back”, the pets are treated with the utmost respect and tenderness. The reception and support staff has a lot of very experienced personnel who really make the difference in customer support and care for the pets. Proof of this is in all the thank you cards and baked treats that clients bring in. Also the prices are beyond reasonable. I have been a pet owner for my entire life. I just had a visit with Dr. Kim Anderson and it is by far the worst expereince I have ever had with a vet. She seemed to be a nice person but her inability to handle my dog was shocking to me. I am the owner of a terrier that gets nervous and snappy when visiting the vet. This has never been an issue with previous vets who have had the knowledge and training to deal with nervous dogs. Dr. Anderson was unable to restrain my dog and complete the full examination. I tried to help her but my assistance was not enough. I even tried to explain what other vets had done in the past but she was still unable to conduct the exam. To top it off she still charged me the full amount for an incomplete exam. My dog was a little snappy but by no means ferocious. The front desk staff were also quite unpleasant. You can't find more highly trained or friendlier people anywhere. The prices are the best around and both my dog and I are comfortable there.Dr. Black was the first vet my dog didn't take off running from. Given my background working at the WSU vetmed school, explanation of my dog's illnesses, later tumor was at first great for the lay person and then technical when I asked very technical questions. The care received exceeded my expectations (yes, exceeded) and I drive all the way out to Clearview from Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish--where ever I'm living to see Dr. Black or Dr. Anderson for even just a bordetella vaccination.I might add that when I moved out to Bothell from Pullman I was referred to the Clearview Animal Hospital by no less than 5 people. We drive from Marysville to Clearview (about 45 min) just to see Dr. Black. He's very compassionate and knowledgable. He won't overcharge/drive up the price by recommending unnecessary procedures. They are honest and straightforward, and that makes it worth the drive. I wish they were available for emergencies, as i think the two referral services fore emerg. are awful, and I would love to have consistent care all the time.
