Took our cat in with stomach problems and after paying for a visit we left without having the issue fixed. 🤔 Decided to give them another try with our yellow lab for joint problems. They prescribed something that made her throw up and have the runs. So no more of that. Some time went by and her joint problems worsened. I called them and explained her reaction to the medication. The girl that answered was rude and told me that i would have to bring her back in and pay for another office visit. I told her it was for the same reason i brought her in before. We just need to try a different medication. She said thats just the way it is.😲 Well had enough of that nonsense, she is now going to the best vet. In town. Hunter vet. near Boone and Washington. These guys are great. They prescribed Galliprant and she is doing great. I hope fairwood vet. reads this and changes the way they take care of the customer. Read Less

I'm a long time customer and have never felt so jaded. I show up yesterday with no one at the front desk to help for over 5 mins. Then I find out an appointment I booked over a week ago never got on the schedule!! I come here for one reason a doctor which I can't even get an appointment to see. Read Less

I've been taking my cats to the Fairwood Animal Hospital for over 10 years.  Eli being my 3rd cat.  This past week my cat experienced something neurological and I called them and they had me bring him in,  even though they were a doctor short and were busy.  I authorized them to treat Eli and I left Eli there.  7 hours later I hadn't heard from them so I stopped in.  They hadn't done anything. Dr Hart rushed in and I had to tell him what happened. I had already told the techs earlier, that morning.  They then did a chest x-ray and a staff told me it was ok.  They did do labs , but it's now been 3 days and no one has called me with results.   Dr.  Hart said my cat may need an echocardiogram but no call regarding that either. Very disappointed .  They've probably lost all my future business.  And I'm not trusting them for my cat's well being and his health anymore.  Currently searching for another doctor for my cat. We moved to Spokane a few months ago and had to find a new veterinarian for our 12 year old golden retriever. We had heard good things about Fairwood Animal Hospital and so went for a check up. I'll be honest - our first visit wasn't so great. The vet we saw (who WASN'T Dr Hart) was just "ok", and definitely seemed inconvenienced to be treating our girl. We were all set to find another vet when our neighbor said "No, no, no, you need to go back there and see Dr Hart - he's the best."  Well thank goodness we did, because Dr Hart is indeed the best. He gave our sweet dog phenomenal care, particularly over the past 6 weeks as she was diagnosed with cancer and needed frequent treatments and care. He explained everything to us very patiently, always gave us plenty of options (sharing what he viewed as the pros and cons of each), and offered thoughtful, helpful counsel to us while also making sure that the decision in each case was always ours (never him pushing us one way or the other). He called to check on her, stayed late on Valentine's Day(!!!) to see her in a moment of crisis (thank you both Dr Hart and the Hart family for accommodating this inconvenience!), and was kind and compassionate to the very end. One day last month our girl wasn't feeling well and had to spend the afternoon there. Being a golden retriever and thus a very social dog, we felt sad that she was probably in a cage all day, although never voiced this to the vet or the office staff. When we came to pick her up, the friendly woman at the front desk said "Come with me, I want to show you where your dog spent the day."  She took me back to a small room that had a couple of desks and computers and there, tucked to the side, right near one of the women who was working on the computer, was our girl stretched out on her dog bed. They said "We knew she'd be happy laying here where she could be with people." SO sweet of them to do that!Bottom line - I highly recommend Dr Hart and the staff at Fairwood Animal Hospital. Even when there is no one else in the waiting room I have always had to wait an inordinate amount of time for the front office to help me. My old vet had a lot of nice touches that made my pet an I feel special. Taking a baby picture they reviewed from time to time, sending automatic birthday e-mails etc. This place could add a few of those to really create a caring atmosphere. Read Less

We just moved to the area and have already had to have our dog in twice for different issues.  Both times we have seen Dr. Hart and his assistant, Lexi, and they have been amazing!  They are both very compassionate and kind with our dog and they took the time to explain what was going on with our pup and why, how they were going to treat the problem and what I should do once we were back home.  The second visit was more of an emergency than the first, and I was able to get him in first thing in the morning and didn't wait more than a minute or two after checking in.  Not only did our dog come home that afternoon feeling much better, Dr. Hart called to let me know how he was doing mid-morning, and Lexi called that afternoon for a follow up report and to let me know he was ready for pick up.  When I went to pick him up, they both came out to tell me how he did and to go over his home care instructions.  Lexi also called this morning to check on him and see if I had any questions!  Truly great client service!!  I have had dogs all of my life and have had many vet visits, but none have compared to the quality and service provided by Dr. Hart, Lexi, and the staff at Fairwood.  We are so happy to have found such a great, caring place to take care of our pups! Rude at the front desk, slow to get checked into a room even though they are usually empty, and appointments mean nothing. They always make you wait a long time, which is hard for a sick or hurt pet. Looking for a new vet... Read Less

Dr hart was very knowledgable and kind to my Great Dane puppy. She had surgery and I felt like he really cared. He took the time to call me himself and then also meet me when I picked her up. I have been bringing my animals (5 dogs) here for the better of 15 years and thought they were great. When I called with an emergency on Saturday morning with my pom/chi vomiting and diarrhea for 48 hours, being really bad last evening (had to go outside ever 3-5 mins for 8 hours), they told me to go to downtown vet ER because they couldn't see her. I explained we are established patients and I preferred them to see her. It was not possible. I called Mt Spokane Veterinary Hospital and they were also booked up but said to go ahead and bring her in immediately. They got us into a room and drew her blood within the first 5 minutes of being there. They found she has pancreatitis and are taking good care of her now. I am really disappointed in Fairwood, pretty sad they have turned their practice into not caring. I am moving my dog's files and directing all my pet parent friends to Mt Spokane Vet! Read Less

I found a two day old kitten and noticed he was having diarrhea. I took him to fairwood animal and explained that I had limited funding. They were understanding and they worked with me where I was at. Dr. Hart is an outstanding doctor and very gentle with my kitten. He took his time examining kitty and was very thorough. He also made sure all my questions had been answered before sending us off. The office is clean and the staff is friendly. I always receive a follow up call after my visits and they are genuinely interested in my pets. I have never used another vet in Spokane, and I don't think I will ever have to.Read Less

I have been taking my large dogs and cats here for several years now. I used to be happy with them. Recently however, the service and lack of compassion for animals (assistant referred to my female lab as an it, more than once) has me shopping for a new care taker. My dog was lathargic and in bad shape when I took her in. They gave her IV fluids and enenama. After those treatments she still was not doing well so he gave her blood test and ex ray. He couldn't figure out what was wrong so he sent her home $500 later I still have a sick dog and awnsers??? Taking her to another vet.... So frustrated!!!! Read Less

Been going there with a rescue dog for over a month almost weekly and its typically over $116 every visit. After the 3rd visit the vet suggested taking him to animal eye clinic. Now there is a new problem with loose stools and a rash on his nose. Im happy with their service though they are HORRIBLE with calling you back when you need more information and it seems every time we end up going there, I don't feel that I get a good explanation on what the vet thinks is going on and how to treat it. He just prescribes more medication and says try this for a week and we have to come back and spend another $100+. Read Less

These people are amazing! I have been taking my "kids" here for over 15 years. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and explain things so you can understand, but also don't try to dumb things up too much for you, either. They create a welcoming atmosphere that makes both you and your pet feel like family. Cindy is extraordinary and Dr Hart is fantastic. They have a great knack for hiring techs and other support staff that fit in with the hospital and their core values. They have helped me out with everything from surgeries, routine vaccinations and check ups to chronic pain management. They listen to what is important to me and respect my feelings and beliefs.
