My cat was attacked in our house by an intact (NOT-NEUTERED) bully male cat that came into my house through the cat door I put in for MY cats to use. Before I knew what was happening, there was a cat fight in my kitchen at 3 am and my beloved cat, Webster, was seriously injured. His ear was torn up and an abscess (sp) developed the day before I was supposed to leave town for a trip that was already paid for. I was a wreck because Webster was injured and he needed to have medical care twice/day. My neighbor normally came in each day when I go away because my cats prefer to be at home and they have never been boarded. I was completely stressed out because I could not leave my cat home like I normally would as he had to have medical attention every day. So, my vet. asst. told me about Cascade Park Animal Hospital since they don't offer boarding. I immediately drove there to see if it was a place I felt comfortable leaving my cat. From the moment I walked in, they treated me with compassion and they understood how anxious I was about leaving my baby there, injured and alone. I wanted to cancel my trip, but this had been planned for so long, it was my birthday trip, and 10 other people were going to be there just for me. One of them drove over from Montana! I was torn up inside about what to do, but after they assured me that I could bring my cats bowls, my towel, pillow, and other things from home with my scent and his scent so he would feel safer, surrounded by familiar things and scents, and he could hide inside my robe, which he did...then I knew they understood and this would be a good place for him if he couldn't be with me. After I saw that the cage he was in was big enough for a large beagle, I knew Webster would be OK, not cramped in a tiny cage, and in good hands. There was a nice big window in there and they let each cat out of their cage to explore the area and sit in the window. Webster had his own drawer with his catnip, treats, medications, etc. They said I could call each day to check on him...so, the next day, I brought him in there before I left, which meant that I left home 8 hours later than intended and after I drove my boy, Webster to Cascade Park - they admitted both of us. They let me put everything in his cage and sit in there with him to assure him that I was there for him and that I would be back. Fortunately, he was the only patient in there most of the time - it is a strictly feline area. His cage door was left open much of the time, although he slept and hid a lot inside my robe.Webster was checked on regularly and I called every day to see how he was. They always had some feedback for me and put me on hold to find out how he was doing. It was a terrible situation for me, but I'm so grateful that Cascade Park Animal Hospital was there for us and that they took good care of my boy. I had to drive for 8 hours, all night long after dropping him off there, to get where i was going for my vacation and each day was seriously marred by my worries about dear Webster. If this place didn't exist, I don't know what I would have done. Everyone was so gracious, helpful, caring, considerate, thoughtful, and honest...they let me know when my cat didn't want to eat after I left and that he had to be given an appetite stimulant, and then he ate his food. They helped turn a nightmare situation into a tolerable situation. I can not thank them enough. People should know what a blessing it is to have an animal hospital where you can board your pet if he/she needs DVM medical attention and you have to be away - this is much more that any pet sitter could offer. Webster was safe, healing again and happy to be home when we were re-united. His ear has a terrible, permanent tear through it, he is marred forever by an intruder who broke in and who tormented him, but ultimately both of us will be OK. Webster has all my love...to help him heal.THANK YOU FROM MY BELOVED FELINE, WEBSTER & me, his mom. Read Less
