Everyone was so kind and loving, and Dr. Thompson listened to our concerns, gave Olive a thorough exam, and took care of the problem right then and there. They gave my all options for treatment/therapy allowing me to opt out of stuff that he didn't need. They were also very thorough with their communications and follow-ups. I brought my pet rat, Smalls, here this morning. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Smalls saw Dr. Thompson - extremely nice, did complete examination and offered diagnostic options and treatment and let me decide how to proceed. I am glad to have found a vet in the area who will see pocket pets as not all of them will. They are very knowledgeable and I will be taking my pets there while I'm in the Vancouver area. I gave 4 stars because I really wish vets would do payment plans, as for the staff very nice called my vet could not get me in told us to try east padded so I called got me right in. Unfortunately my kitty had to be put down but the vet and staff where very helpful and understanding. Miss my fur baby so much but thankfully he is no longer in pain. Everybody was really nice, but they were way busier than we were told over the phone. They said they had time to see my puppy but they really did not, was going to take hours to get some x-rays done. The vet tech was awesome and everybody was nice but there is no way i was going to leave my puppy there. Our lab was due to deliver her pups and ended up having complications. We had tried our normal vet we had been going to for 3 years and they were "too full" to help us. We were referred here by the emergency vet. We called asking for help and they said yes right away. They had never seen our dog before but still helped us right away. The doctor and techs performed an emergency csection on our dog. We thought we would only get one pup saved and they saved 2 for us. They also took such GREAT care of our girl. They were so kind to us when we were very emotional and worried. They answered every question and kept us informed the entire time. Even the girls up front were so wonderful to us while we were there for 3 hours waiting. We will be continuing our vet services here from now on!Read Less

This is meant to be constructive and is no way lashing out or impugning the reputation of this animal hospital. I choose to go here and wouldn't,  if it were not a quality business:    My pets are patients at East Padden Animal Hospital. Overall, they receive quality care. But the establishment is quite expensive and  they "soft sell" extra procedures, which can confuse you as to what your dog basically needs.    The wait times vary, but I've waited 1/2 hour up to an hour and a half (with an Appt). Like any hospital, emergencies happen. It doesn't seem like they triage basic procedures to one person and emergencies to another. I see others waiting just as long. This just what I surmise from the customer standpoint.   On the flip side when my dog had to be put to sleep, they were very compassionate and gave us all the time we needed to be with our pet.    So you can't go wrong taking your pet here, but be aware you might wait, you may pay a bit more, and really ask about costs so there are no surprises. I took my dog here when it appeared that he had developed an ear infection.  The vet gave him his customary initial check up as part of the appointment.  Before even checking his ears for the infection, she "discovered" that it "sounded" like he MIGHT have a heart murmur.  The vet recommended that my dog get a sonogram and several other expensive tests to see if he had a murmur and to see how bad the murmur actual was.  When I asked, "if he does have a heart murmur, can it be treated", she said, "no there isn't anything that can really be done to treat it or fix it, but at least you'll know that he as it".  So you want me to pay you hundreds (probably a couple of thousand dollars) to try to diagnose something that can't be treated or fixed just so that I have something to worry about for the rest of my dogs life?  Also, my dog is 9 years old now.  He has been seen by at least 5 other vets over the course of his life and not a single one of them has ever "discovered" his possible heart murmur.After this, she finally got around to checking my dogs ears.  She had brought two cotton swab sticks into the room with her.  She grabbed them, set one of them on the dirty floor, took the other one and swabbed his bad ear, then took the other swab off the floor and swabbed his good his.  She then set both of them directly on a dirty stool in the exam room.  What kind of unsanitary operation is this?  And yes, she was treating my dog while sitting on the floor.  I've never had a vet do this before.  My dog only weights 30 pounds.  He can fit on the exam table very easily.  He is a Jack Russell and is very calm.  I'm not sure why he had to be treated on the dirty floor.She left the exam room with the two swabs and then the vet assistant walked in to go over the charges.  They wanted $233 to treat both the ears.  He was only having problems with one ear, but some some reason they felt the need to culture and then treat both ears.  By this point, I was pretty feed up with this place.  I told them to just flush out his ears and that I would take care of the rest.  The bill for just much came to nearly $100. I haven't been here before, but I had a kitten handed off to me and it was going to live with us so I needed to know if it had any diseases it could pass off to my other cat. Our other vet didn't have any opening immediately so I called here and got her tested right away. And gave me a free exam for a first time client. Which I was happy with they didn't make me wait a week to see if she has anything that could be passed along. And now she lives with us. I'm a happy pet owner. I go there now for all her updates and my other cat too! I recommend here, they don't seem like they take your money like other vet offices do. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about EPAH! The staff are very friendly and truly love their patients. Dr. Anderson spent a long time reviewing our puppy's previous vet visits from another clinic and offered additional advice. She is very knowledgeable about pet allergies and have us information on treatment. She didn't push products on us and wrote a prescription for us to purchase his prescribed food at any location. I had a emergency C section the Saturday before Easter, my vet could not help me they sent me to CRVS who are very nice but V E R Y expensive, I asked them if they could think of ANY place else I could go, they suggested East Padden Animal Hospital. I called and they were kind enough to take us in, it literally was half the vet bill of what the emegency services was going to be. i never write reviews, but i was referred hhere by my vet as she was out of town. my rabbit was seen after about 45 minutes waiting. my rabbit had gotten in a fight with another and her noes was partially hanging off. the vet wanted to do reconstructive surgery even though it wasnt affecting its functionality, i just wanted the excess removed so it didnt get caught on anything. she took my rabbit back to shave some fur down and see how bad under it was... i waited another 40 minutes, she ddidnt come back in just her tech, with a piece of paper the vet had put together as a treatment plan. all of the medications were unnecessary, my rabbit was free range so once i realized she was injured it took awhile to coax her the wound was basically healed up already. they wanted me to pay 100 in medication that she didnt need, and $700 for a reconstructive surgery she didnt need,. this was rediculous. i take may animals in a lot at my main vet and i know the cost of somehing like that. it would have been about $200. and the meds maybe $40.. i was hesitant on coming here because i knew it would be expensive but really? 3x the price? for something not necessary? no, i'll stick with mine. so if you want to save money and have exceptional care... go to camas washougal animal hospital. it is the cheapest in camas/vancouver and surrounding areas. i've researched prices and trust me.. this is the place to go Read Less

After just moving to Vancouver, my dog had an emergency come up. We had not found a local vet yet and had to visit three different offices in the morning to find a vet that had a doctor on staff early that day. I am so glad it ended up being East Padden. They have been nothing but caring, and have made my dog and I feel right at home, right away. I have never been to a vet with doctors and staff that are so personable and attentive, both in and outside of the office. From the consistent and welcomed follow-up calls post-surgery, to the availability of the Doctor to personally have a phone conversation with me answering a few questions after-hours, we have absolutely found our local vet in Vancouver. I've taken my dog to East Padden for well care, vaccinations etc. Saturday afternoon after returning home from a few days out of town I noticed she had a large infected abscess. East Padden got her in within two hours. They had to perform a surgical,procedure to clean & drain the abscess. It was done immediately with very good explanation of treatment options & costs. Being new to the area I was nervous about choosing a new office to entrust my furry companions too. Much to my surprise and delight East Padden Animal Hospital is wonderful! The facility is extremely accommodating with the most convenient hours for working professionals. The front desk staff was friendly, welcoming, and polite while juggling the occasional phone call and assisting with new patient documents. Even the wonderful furry welcome greeter perched on the office chair was happy for a new patient. From a treatment perspective Dr. Nicole Lindstrom was professional and informative while considering all of my observations as well as her clinical findings. Pricing on testing was very fair and results were sent back within 24 hours. Lastly, from a documentation perspective this office is spot on- extremely detailed appointment notes were emailed within 8 hours showing not only did the veterinarian listen throughout the appointment but documented all details. Not only are they kind, compassionate, patient, skilled, & knowledgeable they keep you informed & part of the decision making for a treatment plan for your pet. We took our dog there yesterday for the first time who ended up in emergency surgery for a few hours & Dr. Kenny & her team went above & beyond & made instant lifetime customers with us. Their love of animals clearly shows & it is obvious their hearts are genuine & in their jobs for the right reasons. I also thought given all that was done for my dog & the lengthy surgery the price was very fair & I know going other places it would of been thousands more. I recently got a puppy and spent a LONG time looking up which vet would be the best for her. When we came here they were so awesome and friendly and they told us about the "Puppy Package." Which was 250 for pretty much everything she could ever need in 3 appointments plus 10% off her procedure to get spayed. We thought it was SUCH a good deal, we were so excited. We thought they'd make sure she was all healthy, give her the shots she needs. As time went on, every time we went there again there was another thing she was "due" for that is another 20 bucks that of course isn't included in the puppy package. She got a small injury on her eye and they charged us another 120 for eye drops that she ended up not even needing after 2 days. We later find out she has worms, that apparently the 250 dollar puppy package that includes deworming doesn't cover. So we were charge another 65 to get meds that we found out later didn't help whatsoever, along with another 50 dollar fecal sample. Once we found out that she STILL had worms they wanted to up the dosage and add on a few more meds costing again around 80 bucks plus ANOTHER 50 dollar fecal sample. This time we instead went and got the meds they suggested from the store for 15 DOLLARS and now she's all better. We also called around to a few vets on how much getting her fixed would be and we're now going to a new vet that has a 30 dollar fecal sample and that will also be 130 to get her fixed instead of our wonderful 10% off price and 250. We spent almost 600 dollars at East Padden in less than 3 months and would've spent almost 1,000. They're very nice people and we're great with my dog, but going there was definitely a huge mistake and we will never be going there again. Read Less
