This business is wonderful. I live in Seattle and my senior kitty was staying with a friend on Vashon while I was on a business trip on the East Coast.  My kitty got very sick and they were able to get her in immediately and communicated with me on the East Coast throughout the process. They allowed me to pay from the East Coast and kept me calm and informed as I was not able to leave for a few days. They did not seek payment from my friend who brought her in. They got her in right away, immediately treated her and seemed to be completely focused on Maddie's treatment and well being over anything else. I was vulnerable being so far away and they made no attempt to insist she needed additional tests and extra services.  I am happy to report Maddie is almost 18 now and behaves like a healthy happy youthful kitty and I will be forever grateful to Fair Isle . If I could give them zero stars, I wouldI had an absolutely terrible experience here last year. I came here faced with the awful prospect of having to put my dog down. They assured me that it would be a quick and painless process. What followed was anything but...The laboratory assistant was adamant that a catheter must be used because he was having trouble finding my dogs veins. This process took about 20 minutes and after severely traumatizing my dog numerous times he was unable to properly attach the catheter. It was at this point that I spoke up and complained about how poorly everything was going. I insisted that the actual Veterinarian come in and take over-- resulting in another 20 minute wait. The vet was able to perform the procedure quickly and without a catheter. This left me wondering what the hell the lab assistant was doing working on these kind of procedures. All in all the entire process took almost an hour with my dog spending the final moments of his life severely distraught and traumatized. As if this wasn't enough, I have had other issues with Fair Isle in the past when it comes to the price they charge for their services. When my dog was younger and needed a Rabies shot they would only perform the rabies shot in conjunction with a "general inspection" which ran somewhere around $140. It seems that they are putting profits above caring for the basic needs of animals. After doing some research I took my dog to Tacoma where every month or so a traveling veterinarian comes to different tacoma area pet stores and I was able to get my dog vaccinated for around $20. Now, we all know about "island pricing" but this is just ludicrous especially when it involves the health of animals. After the traumatizing experience (for both my dog and my family) we called in to complain about the treatment and the cost $150 for the putting down procedure. They refused to offer even a partial refund and all they would say is that, "our concerns would be addressed at their next meeting" We have never heard back from them. Fair Isle seems to care more about profits then the animals they are supposed to be providing healthcare for and that is reprehensible. Read Less

If I could give them zero stars, I would.They killed my father's cat by giving it an "emergency treatment" for heart disease it didn't have.  My father's cat had a kidney infection and my regular vet was on vacation.  I took the cat to Fair Isle and he was treated for the infection.  I wanted to take him home, but the vet on duty said it was best to keep him overnight.  I wish I'd insisted on taking him with me.The next morning, another vet went in and, not knowing the cat, assumed because he was breathing heavy, that he was having a heart issue.  He gave the cat an injection, which stopped his heart.  The cat breathed heavy like that every day of his life.  Idiots.They were also giving leptospirosis "vaccines" that are useless (no vaccine for the only type of lepto on the island).  The ineffectiveness of the "vaccine" on lepto is well-known in the veterinary community, yet the continued to give it, despite evidence it did more harm than potential good.I wouldn't take a mouse there.  Thanks for nothing Fair Isle. The last time I brought my cat here for a check-up, the vet spent a great deal of time with us discussing the options and treated us and our pet with respect and attention. I have since brought another one of our pets here and received the same level of care. I have been to other vets both on and off of Vashon and feel very lucky to have such compassionate folks who charge reasonable fees for expert quality work. Read Less
