My mother took her 6 month old kitten to this clinic. He was a rather feisty kitten and did not want to be at the vet. My mother was told that he was a very unhappy cat and needed to be on antidepressants. The vet said that if the antidepressants didn't work, he should be put down because he was just so miserable. My mom of course did not take this advice, but worried about him after this encounter. He is now a year old and living a very happy life (he's still feisty but has mellowed out a bit). He purrs all the time and loves my mom. We just still cannot believe a vet, who is supposed to love animals, would recommend putting down a healthy kitten just because he's a bit spunky. Read Less

We just had our first visit which was amazing. The vet spent a significant amount of time with us and our pup, asked us more than once about concerns or questions. The exam was thorough and the dr was honest. Instead of putting our dog through unnecessary tests as other vets have in the past she explained the statistics of the issues being discussed being a danger and why the test most likely wouldn't show an issue if one existed! What! You mean you don't want to stab my baby just to make a quick buck off us? We spent at least 45 minutes in the clinic, most of it with the dr free of charge ( first exam is free, like actually free! Didn't try to find something to charge us for to compensate, it was free!). This is a clinic full of wonderful people who are there because they care, 100%. I only wish we would have found them sooner. No fear tactics, no gimics, no run around just a solid veterinary practice. If only all animals could get the treatment this place offers.Read Less

Fantastic traditional vet clinic. They removed a tick on my dogs nose, no charge.The reason I gave them 5 stars is they listened and respected my holistic approach to wellness. This place is awesome! Dr. Brown is the best. The front desk staff are so kind and friendly. I have taken my Shiba Inu Mango here twice and they have gotten us in and out in a great amount of time. My dog doesn't even seem to be bothered by coming here either. The place doesn't have the typical vet "stink" that most offices do. Kudos to the cleaning staff as well. My newly adopted rescue dog was treated with expertise, kindness and compassion by Dr. Matson at Hollywood Hill Animal Hospital. Just before he came to live with me, we discovered Baxter had his jaw fractured earlier in life. The doctor came up with a treatment plan to relieve his pain and restore his eating ease. When the time came to pick him up after surgery, Dr. Matson came out to discuss the procedure and his nurse spent time going over discharge information. I could tell that they really enjoyed healing pets and loved the fact that they called my doggy "Sir"!Their respect and care for my new doggy is very much appreciated. Read Less

I was refer from my daughter since she has a greyhound as well and she said this office was good .well my daughter was right the staff is great and the doctor is great .this office is friendly to people and to the pets and I will be taking my greyhound forever . I had been going to Hollywood Hill Animal Hospital for almost 3 years before I moved out of the area. They took a very good care of my cat Coco. My cat recently had surgery to remove bladder stones with Dr. Carolyn Houser and everything went very well. Dr. Carolyn Houser kept me informed how my cat was while she was in the hospital and she was a very good listener and answered all the questions I had. She also got back to me quickly when I called and left messages. The staff there are very nice, friendly, and helpful, especially Angie and Paige. They got back to me promptly with any concerns or questions I had. Too bad that I had to move because Hollywood Hill was the best vet I have come across. I took my new chocolate lab puppy to HH Animal Hospital yesterday for a routine check-up and an itchy ear.  The staff were all amazing, swooning over him and playing with him - he's such a ham.  The technicians, assistants and the vet were all very attentive, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions.  Turns out my puppy has an ear infection, so he got medication for that, plus they set me up with the 'Puppy Plan' which will save me quite a bit of money over the first few months of my puppy's life with all the vaccinations. We have been brining our pet Shih Tzu (Bella) here since we first got her five years ago. They have always been very caring and helpful. Recently she was treated for a hot spot. When VPI (pet insurance) denied the claims (pre-existing condition they said), Dr. Brown jumped in to review Bella's records, and faxed them to VPI. She also spent considerable time on the phone with VPI to help resolve our issues. This was above and beyond for a veterinary doctor and was very much appreciated. We don't have an answer yet from VPI but regardless of the outcome, Dr. Brown's efforts were very much appreciated. Read Less

A veterinarian's job is to provide knowledge and care - not commentary.  I brought my English Bulldog puppy here for first check up, shots, etc.  Here I was, gleefully caring for my "Dream Dog" (you know, the one you've wanted your whole life?) and "Dr. B" I will call her, offers up an assortment of snide comments like "I don't know why people like these dogs, they have so many problems".  This style of commentary peppered the entire examination. If her goal was to make a customer feel horrible; it worked.  I returned once more for the final series of shots since I did not want to interrupt my dog's care. Her snarky attitude was actually a GIFT because my search for a new vet (to continue my dog's routine care) brought me to Dr. Terry Beatty at Animal Surgery & Care Center, Lynnwood. First off, the waiting room has wall to wall carpet, which for a vets office was off putting and it smelled strongly of cat pee.I had seen a vet in Kirkland earlier that day for my cats absessed tooth who reccomended seeing the vet dentist at Hollywood Hills.After the vet glanced at my cat he said he needed the tooth extracted, which I was expecting as well as a cleaning.He said they had an opening the following day and the assistant would return with my estimate.I was shocked when she brought in an estimate for $960 for one tooth extraction and cleaning!!!!I was already going to be  charged $80 just for the initial visit.As much as I love my cat..he is 9 and has been to vets before for various bumbs in the road but I have never seen such a rediculous quote for a procedure.I ended up calling a number of places and ended up having the same procedure..tooth extraction and cleaning for $300 at another clinic.My cat is now home, happy and fine and I have saved $660. This is a GREAT place to go! We have Three dogs and I think we have seen just about everyone there at this clinic at one time or another! We even had to use them for an emergency when dog came in our yard and attacked one of our dogs-- They could not have been any more perfect! When I moved to WA, I only knew one person with a dog on the Eastside. The only vet recommendation I got was for Hollywood Hill, so I took the recommendation. I have never been happier with a vet. Dr. Matson is very loving and very attentive to our two dogs. The staff is incredibly friendly and they are all loving pet owners as well. My girl dog loves the vet techs and the receptionists. My boy dog had an unexpected reaction to his puppy vaccines and I have never had any doctor (vet or medical) be so caring. His picture hangs on their wall now! Both of my dogs needed baby teeth pulled because there was crowding and the vet incorporated the teeth work into their spay/neuter so we didnt have to put them under twice in a short time frame. Do your dogs and cats the favor of seeing Dr. Matson and the staff at Hollywood Hill. You will not be disappointed! Read Less

These people love your pet as much as you do.  Really.  I trust the doctors and the staff at Hollywood Hill to do the right thing every time.  They have heart and they remember the names of my pets when I show up with them.  The are also very reasonable in prices (it cost me $500 less to get my dog's teeth cleaned than my friend JD at her vet and my dog is 65 lbs bigger than her dog).  I now live about 45 minutes drive away from this vet but I still take my furry children there.  They also offer boarding.
