I cannot say enough great things about Bloom Pet Hospital! My dog was recently diagnosed with Diabetes and I needed to find a vet office where I felt supported to take on the management of this disease. Staff and Dr. Busina are WONDERFUL. They answer all of my questions (I have a lot of them) and they take such good care of my baby (a spoiled, stubborn, grumpy old Doxen who is not always the easiest to work with). I have never once felt taken advantage of (prices are very reasonable and no unnecessary treatment is ever suggested) and I always feel encouraged when I leave the office. I have taken my dog Cloud (border collie/husky) mix here twice now after hearing great things about it from my co-worker. I love it, the people working there are so nice and good with animals. I love the small space its not a huge buidling. def. comforting waiting in the lobby. I want to say that I have never in my life met a better Veterinarian or received better treatment for the several of my beloved animals Dr. Busina has treated and cared for and even saved including 2 feral cats. There are times it seems like she has done the impossible and I'm so grateful beyond words. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with every veterinarian I've ever had (especially the " Other One" in town) until I found her about 10 years ago. She is so honest and has never taken advantage of me financially. I never knew I was being robbed Blind by every other doctor before her with endless testing that never needed to be done and other things that had nothing to do with the treatment of my animals but only for their profit. She'll order the minimal amount of testing needed to treat your animal first which is what usually leads to an answer rather than ordering a long list of unnecessary testing just for the money. She already seems to know what the problem is simply from her experience and knowledge before ordering any tests and I believe that's why I've never had to pay for so many unnecessary testing. Her diagnosis has always been completely accurate every single time. She's so honest and charges such a fair price for everything she does it's almost unbelievable to me. But the best part is that she truly, truly cares about what she does and about these wonderful animals that she treats and saves . It's not just some job and just a place to make money off of people who are desperate to keep their Pets healthy or to save their lives. I recommend her and only her at Bloom Veterinary Hospital in Yelm. I can not express how much I appreciate the staff and doctor at bloom. My old man jack Russell terrier had a puncture wound from a dog bite 4 weeks ago, I took him to yelm they gave him meds and instructed me to do drainage at home it healed fine but just blew up to full abscess the other day I called yelm and bloom, bloom was first to respond and got him in right away. He had surgery and is doing so much better they even called to check on him which yelm never did after seeing him 4 weeks ago. I am a repeat customer at Bloom Pet Hospital. I've had my old dog and cat there as well as my new dog and two new cats. They are very compassionate under any circumstance, especially when having to put down an animal. I find their prices to be very reasonable and they never recommend anything that is unnecessary. In fact, I've always found them to go out of their way to save me money. The best example is when I brought my 4 year old lab, Luna, in for for surgery on her torn A...CL. I had done some conservative physically therapy with my dog before surgery and when I brought her in, her walking had improved so much that both the vet and the surgeon said in good conscience they couldn't do surgery because they didn't want to put my dog through that stress and recovery needed post-surgery. We were moving due to a military move overseas and they went above and beyond to make sure all the tremendous amount of paperwork that was to be accomplished was accurate and properly filled out. This was our first time using the vet and it felt like we had been going there for ages. Very friendly and quick to answer any questions we had.The country that we were entering (UK) has very strict laws regarding bringing animals and they were able to enter without any problems. I love Dr Radka, not sure I spelled that right. I have been coming here for about 6 yrs. I've never had a complaint. The staff is amazing & supportive. My big guy, Gus, had surgery yesterday. My experience with Bloom Pet Hospital was so pleasant, I went to them for the first time because we're new to the area and unfortunately had to have my cat tested to only find out she was having kidney failure and had to make a hard decision but the Vet. Where do I start? Had a very sick family dog we believed we were going to have to put down. Bloom Pet worked with us on another option. 3 hours worth of surgery later and multiple items removed from our dogs stomach and intestines he is on the road to recovery. Our cat, Snickers was in a really bad way - lack of hair/licking hair off issue - and we thought we were going to have to put him down, because he was so itchy/scratchy/licky....;-(. BUT, we took him in this past April, and low and behold, the doctor knew what he needed, and said it may not work 100%, but he is totally cured of his issue, and needs a bit of a booster now, but he grew all of his hair back, and is very healthy again, thanks to the expertise of this fine vet! I went to this clinic by recommendation, and by my experience, because of their level of professionalism, I cannot in good conscience recommend this Clinic to others. I took a rescue animal here to get a look over, check the bite mark on the animal, to get me an answer if its fixed or not, and do some blood work to make sure it wasnt carrying anything. . ((Its a 5LB cat, with a wonderful temperament, that hasnt been socialized too much. Very calm considering.)) $65 Dollars later.. I still dont know if its fixed. The Veterinarian didnt want to stress the animal by shaving its belly to confirm she wasnt touching the belly button by mistake. I do not know if it's chipped. They couldnt figure out how to pull blood from the animal. The Vets heavy handed approach to her practice, even though the cat had not scratched or bit anyone and had only put up minor resistance to being contorted, had gotten the cat worked up. With three staff members, they could not figure a way to secure this animal after three attempts. Not of course, without offering for us to pay to sedate her, or pay to put a special mask on her. For simple blood work. A towel, a flea cone, and two staff members could have easily have done the job, but for this clinic, it wasnt possible without opening up your wallet again. I did receive mite treatment and she did get the deworming shot. A total value of goods around 25 bucks. So somehow weighing her, listening to her heartbeat, and doing a quick look costed 40 dollars. However they appeared to not be advanced enough at their craft, to handle tasks beyond that, with any animal that wasnt completely docile. Unless you want to pay to put it to sleep If you know what a basic infection looks like, there isnt gunk in your animals eyes, or anything strikingly strange to your naked eye, save yourself the time and the money, and dont bother with this establishment. If you dont know the signs for ear mites are, google it. Too easy. They will not receive my repeat business after this and Id recommend you save yourself from the experience. Edit: I agree completely with the review from "Tree". The other two members of the staff where pleasant and professional. One seemed a little inexperienced, but everyone has to learn somehow. Even when she would greet customers and head to the back/behind the desk or counter you could see her smile just drop. This star has absolutely nothing to do the services rendered or the doctor as we were seen by a stand in due to the owner being out. This one star is strictly due to the attitude of he counter person Nicole who was the rudest person I have dealt with in our recent move to the Area. I went in on Tuesday and made a appointment for Thursday for my new puppy. I was told what was needed for payment with the use of my care credit card. On the the day of my first appt I got stuc...k at work so my wife had to take in the puppy with the card info but I was unable to provide my two forms of ID as I work for the military and get stuck due to training some days. I called to inform them that I would not be able to make it due to work related issues and was pleasantly greeting and informed that it would be ok to get my forms of ID's at my earliest convenience. My wife then brought our cat in today for his initial exam and Nicole demanded that she present my forms of ID's as we were now in debt for yesterday's bill. Upon my wife telling her that I spoke to someone and they knew I was going to get me ID's she responded with "I already told you that you needed to bring in two forms of ID and payment is due is completion of services and as of right now you are in debt for yesterday's services". She then proceeded behind the divider and whispered to her coworkers about how ashamed we should like we had a 1000's of dollars instead of the 109 for the two exams. I had no intentions of leaving the debt sit there as I stated to the other receptionist last night who seemed very understanding. It is to bad that a cute little veterinary office will lose my business due the attitude of one employee but I will not go back here again and want others to know what they might get when the go here. We've been going to Bloom Pet Hospital for a couple of years now.  My brother-in-law recommended Dr. Busina when our Rottie got really sick.  Everything possible was done to save her, but it was not to be.  Dr. Busina came to our house to put her down because it was too difficult for us to try to get in in the truck to bring her to the doctor.  We've stayed with Dr. Busina ever since.  She just recently saved one of my cats after I'd had a vet who does my horses did a blood test and said there was nothing wrong.  Well, there was a LOT wrong, and had it not been for Dr. Busina, Boof would no longer be with us.  Their prices, by the way, are GREAT compared to other vets in this area.  The staff is friendly and they show a lot of compassion.  I highly recomment Dr. Busina and Bloom Pet Hospital.  As a side note, another commenter said they were asked for their driver's license and work info.  That must have been for a unique situation, perhaps with payments, because I have never been asked for that information in all the times I've been there. I've been taking my two dogs and my cat to Bloom Pet Hospital for the last two years - ever since I moved to the Yelm area. I love the doctor and the staff, and my dogs are happy there. I feel like the prices are very fair for both every day services and also for things like surgeries. My oldest dog recently tore a ligament in his hind leg and the surgery was probably half the price of the place I used to go to in California. I don't even know where to begin with this review, so I'll start with our biggest "donor" -- GatorX.  My American bulldog is my best friend.  He's a senior, snoring right next to me at this moment.  Last year he developed a rather sizable mast cell tumor, intercostal, on his left side.  Dr. Busina removed the tumor and as much as the tissue around it as she could, and then she sat me down and we talked about bulldog cancer.  Through a dual approach of eastern holistic (mushroom complex and omega 3) and western (some antibiotics for a bit), Gator is a year tumor-free.  Our Boston Terrier, Carlton, had a serious eye injury from one of our cats (we seem to have too many cats) and she was able to give us an eye drop solution from his own plasma to retain a lower pressure in his eye, and this allowed his eye to recover without serious scarring.  Dr. Busina also neutered a male rat for us.  She removed a tumor from a dear hamster we had, as well.  She also helped us put pets to sleep when they were ready to go.Better, the staff at Bloom is so nice.  The techs are kind, and they remember our names, patients included.  I enjoy talking with all of them, as much as is possible via the influx of pets that bring me into their office.As my dearest Gator ages I pray that he will die in his sleep.  If he doesn't, then I trust Doc to help me help him find his way Home.  She is the reason he's still around now.
