My mother has an old cat, a 17 year old Cornish Rex.  She  needed to go to this vet clinic for an enema, and Dr. Jay Peters and Dr. Renee Palmer were involved.  They were made aware that my mother's cat had a history of having adverse reactions to medications. After my mother's cat's appointment, she took her home, and during that night, her cat had passed away.  When she reviewed the medical records after her cat had passed away, she discovered that her cat was given medication at the clinic without her knowledge before she was sent home. My cats and myself have always had excellent experiences with Countryside Vets. Dr. Brian especially who took the time to explain in detail what I was up against when we rescued sickly kitten 6 months ago from being killed on a busy street. Today this little kitten "Dodger", had to go back in for a visit as a runny nose was getting worse. Going into Countryside with a plan, to address his current issue, the runny nose, then get his shots, neutered and declawed ( undecided ) within next few visits. We saw Dr. Sarah, while she was professional, she came a cross as in a rush. I felt comfortable and trusted her diagnosis with the exception of getting Dodge's shots today. Expressing my concerns that I only had a certain amount of money to spend today on this visit and she firmly reminded/warned me of her responsibilities to report owners who do not comply with the laws. Shock...I asked what happens to those people (never imagining why someone wouldn't) and she continued with they pay thousands in fines and can loose their animals..... I was in shock, that she even said this as I wasn't refusing, just not today if it would brings me over my limit. I have been patients of Lakeshore Vetinary Clinic in Glendale WI as well as East Towne Vetinary Clinic in Mequon WI and never has a Doctor said such a thing to me nor my husband in the years of caring for our animals. Dodger, the little kitty who fought so hard to survive, did get his shots today. Yes, it put me over my limit and now see Countryside Vets with different eyes. Maybe Dr. Sarah didn't realize how harsh she came a cross but maybe she did as I was uncomfortable and leary now. I can confirm that we will not see Dr. Sarah again and will choose another vetenary clinic if she is the only one available for us to see. I do realize we all have off days but being mindful is important when talking to patients. Read Less

Several months ago my active 17-year-old cat, Lady, went to CountrySide Veterinary Services for an enema. Dr. Jay Peters and Dr. Renee Palmer were involved with the procedure. I had gone to CountrySide for many years and they were aware that Lady had a history of many adverse reactions to medications. A few hours after I took her home, my dear Lady died. After her death, I requested a copy of her medical records and discovered that CountrySide had given Lady an antidepressant pill and a pain-killer pill WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE and just prior to sending her home. Pretty great place a very nice staff! They've always treated our animals well and make time for urgent care if there aren't any openings. It is pretty busy and popular so sometimes you have to take whatever openings they have available. Overall, the prices are probably comparable to other places and they are good about telling you what something will cost. Read Less

9 week puppy had blood in urine..gave antibiotics..mostly relieved the symptoms but she was still squatting multiple times when peeing...Dr. indicated to wait..symptoms got worse..Dr did not want to put on another course of antibiotics..Brought her in for urinalysis (peed in a cup and sent to outside lab) was negative on the culture so told to wait..symptoms continue to get worse..a week and a half have passed..potty training out the window..finally they said to bring her in for an xray..they took and xray and it was negative..then took urine directly from bladder and found crystals..indicated could be caused by infection..prescribed an antibiotic..my question..why not take urine direct from the bladder the first time...or even before the xray..I feel like it was poor trouble shooting or money gouging..not going back.. Not a big fan of the doctors, tried pressuring us into a surgery multiple times, wanted to charge us to take out staples from a pervious surgery that opened up and had to take to ER to get taken care of. Only nice thing, was decent on a put down of a animal of ours.Read Less

Friendly. well informed staff. No question, ever goes without an answer. All acpects of there care is explained very well and welcome calls for further explaination, if needed. My pets are treated like they are royalty. Would not take them anywhere else. Read Less

We absolutely love Country Side. I wish I could give them 10 stars for all their kindness and support throughout the years. We have had several dogs over the years, as well as a cat, who have all had the pleasure of visiting Country Side. Our dogs LOVE Dr. Jay!!! He is the most caring veterinarian I have ever met. I love that he takes the time to explain all of the options available as well as the side effects of each of them. I know that when I make a decision for my pets that I have all of the facts that I need to make an educated decision, that will have a positive outcome. In addition to making sure you understand your options, they always follow up after procedures, or to ensure you have no questions. Not because they have to, but because they care! They took excellent care of my mom and her dog when she had to put her sick dog down. Very caring. Even got us in on a weekend before they closed. I took my kitty here from then on. Nothing but great service and friendly staff. Best vet experience I've ever had. Read Less
