Be advised: this business no longer offers emergency services. I had been a previous client of Dr. Beckett who was always really responsive to taking care of my pet. I was recently visiting the area with my new puppy when I noticed some concerning stool (blood) and with a flight forthcoming the next morning, I wanted to get him checked out. My family still takes all their animals here so they were my first call. I was a bit taken aback that they told me they were booked solid and could not get us in despite the urgent circumstances. I was actually told to head to the emergency care clinic in Middleton. I suppose I understand, but the website claims they do emergency services, which is clearly not the case. To pile it on, the day after I left, my mother tried to get her suddenly-gravely ill cat in for urgent treatment and guess what - NO TIME WAS AVAILABLE. They offered an appointment the following afternoon, and my mom explained that her cat may not be alive by then. This didn't phase the scheduler and believe it or not, her cat died before the visit. Amazing. My mom ended up paying to cremate her cat instead of getting her care. I know there is new ownership, and I'm not sure why both of us were treated this way, but if you find yourself in the Baraboo area and you need urgent vet consideration, skip right on by this place, they are booked solid. Ps. The place that took my puppy in was booked solid too - but they said as long as I was willing to wait, they would get me in as soon as able. Read Less

Horrendous vet clinic by far!! My 10 1/2 year old cat was taken to their facility and the vet told us to cook an egg because she just needed protein in her diet (she'd lost a lot of weight) and he took her blood for tests and told us he'd have results by the following Monday and insisted on giving her a rabies shot when she never goes outside. He charged us 300 something dollars and we went home and waited for the following Monday. Monday came and he said everything looked fine and she just needed more protein. We got a different food, but she didn't seem to be eating whatsoever and hadn't moved if she could help it. A few days ago she'd started hemorrhaging from her lady parts and we called a friend who's a vet at the Noble Hound. She said to fax over her bloodwork and after seeing it requested she'd be brought in immediately. Our precious cat's white blood cell count was way up and the vet at Baraboo Valley had failed to notice that. The vet at Noble Hound had taken x-rays and concluded our cat was just filled with cancer and had to be put down after calling us and letting us know. She sat here for three weeks in absolute pain and we were none the wiser! She could've been put out of her pain and suffering long before the hemorrhaging, but Baraboo Valley had read her tests wrong and charged us more than Noble Hound did to cremate, take x-rays, and put our cat down. We will never ever bring any of our pets back to Baraboo Valley. Read Less

Betty White (my puppy) loves her friends at Baraboo Valley Vet. The ladies are so knowledgeable and kind and it's so obvious how much they love animals. Dr. Beckett is patient and is great at answering questions. Betty was just fixed and instead of being scared to go back to the vet she was the most happy after her surgery to go see her friends. Back from the vet and another food change, antibiotics and under the skin fluids. My boy, Shamus is so good with all that has been going on since last November when he was diagnosed with diabetes. He doesn't even flinch with his twice a day insulin injections. Animals have the same issues as humans when it comes to diabetes. The doctors are very patient and understanding about your needs as a pet owner. When I last went there it turned out I had freaked out for no reason, so they didn't charge me for the visit when nothing serious was wrong with my dog. i am very appreciative. Read Less
