I was extremely happy with the clinic until I had a disagreement with one of his office staff. I requested the doc to call me back so I could get further clarification, and three days later, I'm still waiting for that call, which is very unusual based on other interactions. I love this vet. It is small and friendly. My old cat despises being out of the house yet they are so calm and patient with him while he growls the whole visit. We take our birds there as well and feel very confident in their care. Prices are very fair as well. Read Less

This place is phenomenal! The staff are wonderful and they really take their time with you. They answer all questions and are just fantastic with my pets! I have a dog and 2 cats, and they tried to make it as stress free for my pets as possible even if one of my cats was being a beast! THE STAFF IS AMAZING! Last night, my sweet pup was clipped by a car. I immediately took him to the nearest vet, which ended up being this clinic. I had never been there before, but they took me in right away and walked me through every step. Dr. Shampo explained the x-ray results in detail and the staff gave me wonderful home care education. The people working at this location are awesome and genuinely care about animals. They care more about the well being of your pets than the money they could make by suggesting vaccines or other items your pet does not need, which is super rare these days. They are very friendly and treat the animals with respect and love, even if they are being a handful! I had an appointment at 10:40 and was left waiting for 40 minutes with a very agitated dog. This is unacceptable. After 40 minutes, I walked out and told them to cancel my appointment only to find about 4 workers just standing around the counter talking. They didn't even open their mouths to apologize. Also, I called yesterday to find out the price of my visit/vaccinations only to be told today that I needed an additional $42 dollar test in order to get preventatives. I understand that it is required, but it should have been quoted when I called yesterday. I won't be returning. Read Less

My family had always entrusted Cudahy Veterinary Clinic with the care of our dog. That was until they came under new ownership. This clinic has shifted its priorities from animal care to profiting. They cleared out most of their lovely staff (especially Lauren!) and the quality of care has gone down considerably. I'm in the process of switching vets for my dog and they will only release his records in person and at an unusually exorbitant fee for a few documents...unheard of, as stated by his new vet. Been going here for about 3 years now only because its convenient about 5mins away but I'll be going somewhere else from now on. My one dogs had multiple surgies .He had a hematoma in one ear and instead of just draining it properly ,Dr.Shampo decided to just use a needle I kinda figured it was going to come back but he insisted and said it most likely wouldn't . WELL it DID and they charged me to do it again so that was another 300$ for something that should have been done right the first time. Not only that but the receptionists are just down right rude and the nurses man handle my dog enough to I know it actually hurt him and he's not just crying because he's scared. But when I say something , the nurse just says "oh no he didn't get hurt that isn't possible." So I don't know when my dog really hurts according to them, its not possible to push too hard on an animal for them to cry is what they're telling me . I don't think they treat the animals with enough care , I feel like some are more worried about doing it quickly .If you do go there ask for Dr. Stoddard she is the only one who spent more than 5 mins answering questions and caring for my animals she's by far the best there . Dr. Shampo and staff took great care of my two tabbies when it came time for their annual physicals and blood work. Dr. Shampo also gave me the BEST advice for curbing their appetites: give them veggies! They love snacking on green beans and peas now, and I don't need to worry about them gaining unhealthy weight. EDIT: I'd like to add that after a week or so of eating veggies, both cats are taking SUPER healthy poops, too. Read Less

I had a couple good visits with my cat, however I am completely baffled by them declining to see her after a 4 day hospital visit for her follow up. She became diabetic with ketoacidosis, and needed a check as she was still not eating on her own. They canceled the first appt the day of bringing her home which I was ok with, however today when she needs rehydration and her follow up they only instructed me to keep force feeding her. I never talked to the vet tech or vet just the receptionist. I am Extremely upset right now. I am back at the animal Mayfair animal hospital where they treated her, receiving fluids and anti nauseous medication. The doctors here have called and faxed and given Cudahy Vet all the information needed. So I simply don't understand... Read Less

Thank you to all the staff at Cudahy Veterinary Clinic for taking such good care of my Murphy before, during, and after his ACL repair surgery. The doctors and techs have been very courteous, informative, and compassionate during a very stressful time for both Murphy and me. Also, I felt the cost of the surgery was quite reasonable. Although he only just came home last night, he does seem to be doing well and has been eating, drinking, urinating, and sleeping. Will not recommend taking an animal here. They are worthless and pushed medication they had to of known wouldn't help our dogs situation. We were told this condition she had was from bad teeth yet they didn't give us ANY information on cleaning services. They kept pushing for X-rays even after Dr. Shame-po said our dog wouldn't need it. They gave our email to 3rd party drug companies, overall terrible experience, terrible doctors. How is it you have a vet tech who looks likes she's on drugs come in and give us medication without any real direction on how to administer? TERRIBLE SHAMEFUL PLACE. Read Less

We are very pleased with taking our 3 dogs ( now 2 dogs) to the Cudahy Veterinary Clinic. Dr Bob and staff are wonderful. Very compassionate, knowledgeable, and gentle! Our dogs were at ease with the staff and my husband and I were very comfortable with the staff. We had to have our 12 year old lab mix euthanized because he was very ill. The staff was not only there for him but also for us! They explained everything and helped us through this very different time! They were very compassionate to his needs and ours! Fantastic vet! I have a working dog and they know how to treat working dogs as well as household dogs. They are great with my cat too! Awesome staff, great service, great prices. I spoke with the Dr. right after he bought the place and he said he wanted to provide affordable pet care in Milwaukee because all the other guys charge outrageous prices around here. Sadly it's true that our vets in Milwaukee have no problem charging ridiculous rates. I drive over 30 miles one way for this guy because he's worth it so far and there's a lot of value for the dollar. My husband was bringing his dog, Louie, here since 1999 when I met him in 2003. I can't possibly say enough good things about this clinic, staff & doctor(s). When we got our 2nd dog, Max, we naturally starting taking him there. When we lost Louie a couple years ago they helped us through that and I loved this place even more. If your looking for a clinical environment with "sterile" staff, this is not the place for you. Every staff member is kind, caring and helpful. Dr. Shampo was meant to be a Vet. We recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Shampo, who purchased the practice in 2012, when we brought our new puppy in.  He was so throrough and explained everything to us.  He spent a lot of time in the room with us talking to us about what products he recommends and why, as well as training tips and puppy behaviors.  He was really friendly and I was very impressed.  Prior to meeting Dr. Shampo, We have always seen Dr. Reynolds.  He has such a calming demeanor which really helps put our cats at ease. He also has always taken the time to explain things and make sure we have no questions.  When leaving our last appointment, Dr. Shampo told me that someone is available 24 hours, even if I just have a question.  I'm happy here.
