Nice vet clinic.  They do have a focus on continuing care for your pet - that includes weight management, teeth cleanings, and all sorts of other things to make your dog's life as long and happy as possible.  They even will do baseline blood tests so that they can determine if, in the future, something goes wrong, whether it is a real problem or not.  Obviously, this type of care is going to be a bit more expensive, but to me it is worth it.The other really nice thing is that they always have a vet on call.  We have called them up in the past to check to see if we needed to bring our puppers to a vet urgent care, and they reassured us that it was not an emergency.They do have pretty overpriced prescriptions / treats (for example, you can buy Veggiedents online for about half the cost).  Overall, I would give them 4/5 stars. THEY TREAT YOUR MEMBER OF THE FAMILY, LIKE THEY'RE ONE OF THIER OWN!!!! (and btw YES, she's a vicious PIT BULL!!!! LoL OMG) LoL... All the Vet's & Tech's love Queen Sheeba A.K.A. Munchkin... They have always been wonderful to my pets. I had a hundred pound Pitbull Rottweiler, Moonlight. Sweetest, most Loveable Baby girls ever!!, never bit or nipped ANYONE!!! She might make you need to wash your face from all the kisses!!! LoL... But she was an Angel!!!! I had always taken her to Saukville vet, but I moved and was referred to the (vet by port library) Moon developed a medium size lump on her hip/butt. Vet? A.M told me, "she sprained it, the swelling will go down in 2-3 weeks". Well 2 weeks and it was not getting smaller but grew a lil.... I tried calling her, her office was hardly ever open from HER needing to be in court?????the unnamed Vet (if she was or is still A LICENSED VET is a whole other story???) WELL HER INCOMPETENCE MADE ME get a second opinion. So I brought My Mooners to Best Friends Vet in Grafton. Moon's hip was swollen but not sore, even so, I had the vet give her some pain meds. Best Friends Veterinary Clinic ran multiple test's, took x-rays, biopsy samples, ect, ect. All of the wonderful Angels at BFV were very professional and helpful. Devastatingly I was informed the biopsy was back, it was a tumor, also it was spreading fast. Had I brought her to Best Friends Vet ASAP, AND NOT TO THE ADVICE OF AN INCOMPETENT HACK, ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE LIBRARY IN PORT, THAT WASTED PRECIOUS TIME, AND CAUSE MY BELOVED BABY-GIRL TO SUFFER FOR 2-3 WEEKS WITH A TUMOR GROWING IN HER HIP BONE WITH NO PAIN MEDS. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE MARIE!!!! MY BABY-GIRL MOONER DESERVED A HE'LL OF A LOT MORE THAN 10 OF WHAT SHE COULD TRY TO DO ON HER BEST DAY!!! MAYBE SHE MIGHT STILL BE ALIVE???? So with the only option being the unthinkable, with this now TUMOR (NOT SWELLING FROM PLAYING???((LIKE THE FIRST VET SAID))WTF) GROWING LARGER AND MORE PAINFUL EVERYDAY. THE AMAZING, COMPASSIONATE, ANGELS, AT BEST FRIENDS VETERINARY CLINIC helped not only Moon, but myself with their compassion, kindness, sensitivity, and general empathy, for my situation, it was outstanding. They made sure Mooners did not suffer, and was kept more than comfortable for her remaining days. Allowing me to say goodbye to a true best friend, for as long as I needed!! ALL DAY IF NEED BE!!! The only negative thing I feel, is that I didn't take my Mooner there sooner, instead I went to an unlicensed vet in downtown Port Washington (NO I DID NOT KNOW SHE LOST HER LICENCE, SHE WAS SEEING DOGS, CATS ECT. IN HER OFFICE WITHOUT A LICENSE???? HER HUSBANDS A LAWYER ???? GEE THAT MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT???? HOW IDK BUT SHE NEEDS TO ANSWER FOR HER ACTIONS!!!!. SHE said the lump (TUMOR) was just swelling in her hip, It'll go away in a week or two. Two weeks later I take her two Best Friends Clinic for a second opinion. It was Cancer, in her hip, NOT A BRUISE OR SWEELING!!! A FU@%ING TUMOR YOU MORON!!!! I won't say the Vets name in Port even though she no longer has a license and doesn't let anyone know that?? but IS STILL PUTTING ANIMALS LIFE'S AT RISK!!! the wonderful people at Best Friends Clinic took care of my Mooners and helped her pass comfortably and peacefully. IT WAS A TRUE BLESSING For Moon, and myself. BUT ON A HAPPY NOTE.... MY NEW PIT-BULL-PUPPY (YEA I KNOW, EVERYONE RUN AND SCREAM!!!! THERE SUCH HORRIBLE DOGS) My baby girl Munchkin a.k.a Sheeba, is happy, healthy, and smothering everybody in slimey puppy kisses... After arriving early to fill out paperwork we had to wait an extra 15 minutes after our appointment time to be seen. We were led to our room by someone who didn't even introduce herself. She asked multiple times if certain symptoms were present after we had just finished describing those exact symptoms. She didn't listen to us and our specific needs at all. The vet was trying to be thorough but ignored very important parts of our puppy's health history. She kept suggesting tests that had already been done and thought our puppy had parasites that were recently ruled out by multiple previous tests. This was all on top of the outrageous fees for being a first time customer. Due to our travels we've been to 8 different vets across the country and this was by far the most overpriced and worst 'bedside manner' we've come across. Definitely would not recommend.Read Less

I gotmg kitten Malayah at 4 1/2 weeks old. She was sick and I didn't know what to do I called best friend and I got her in right away. Her intestines were inflamed she was feeding out of a syringe for the first couple days I got her.. She was put on a couple meds and within a week she was so much better and healthy. I really thought I was going to lose my baby. She is now going to be 8 months old.. Everyone there is so nice. I get post cards for her upcoming shots or check ups. Me being so young and this being my first animal that I actually own I didn't know anything. They are so organized and patient and when I come in with Malayahthey all seem so amazed on how big she is! I truely love taking her there and I always say "lets go visit yyour friends". I am beyond dissapointed with this vet. We brought our new puppy there, trusting that the doctors there are doing what's right for my pet. We haven't had a puppy in 10 years, so I assumed naturally medicine has changed in that time and a $600+ "puppy pack" covering all his shots in the first year was the "going-rate" these days. After behavioral issues that came about, we met with a behaviorist to address these problems. In doing that, we went through his history and tried to locate when this behavior may have begun, and it became clear that the biting/snapping started during his FOURTH or FIFTH round of vaccines, when he bit me as I was trying to help restrain him for the injection. Boy, do I wish I would have done my research. He did great his first couple visits, but by the 4th and 5th visit, he was obviously smart enough to know what was coming, and naturally the fear and anxiety set in. At almost 10 months old, he has not been able to get professionally groomed to date or go to the vet anymore without acting out aggressively (which, resulted in him being prescribed anti-anxiety medication for him to do either of those two things (which still didn't even help). We now have to spend $215 every few weeks for a behaviorist to come and correct these behaviors. After speaking to my breeder in the past few days, as we were about 2 seconds away from re-homing our puppy due to this behavior and frustration, she a.) was baffled to hear her puppies would act in this manner as she has never had any previous reported behavioral issues from any of her past clients and b.) was horrified to see the amount of injections and vet visits he had in such a short amount of time when she was trying to figure out what would have triggered this. She showed her vet his vaccine history, and naturally they were in shock as well. I took it upon myself to call around other local vets and speak to people who have recently had puppies and they all confirmed puppies never have FIVE rounds of vaccinations in their first year.... Let alone in a 2 month period!! I guess that's how they justify their $600+ puppy pack pricing-ABSURD! I'm beyond sick to my stomach I didn't "do my homework" first. Money and upselling is the #1 priority at this establishment and I will NEVER step foot in that place again. My hope is that this review will prevent others from having to go through what our puppy and our family has gone through. Read Less

I've been taking "Tank" to Best Friends since he was about 14 weeks old . They are so good with him. Paige and her team are so patient and caring with Tank. Paige truly cares so much about these animals and that he has a good experience while he's there. The staff goes above and beyond to help always when tank is anxious or just excited . Our kitties have been in excellent care at Best Friends for over 11 years now. The doctors and other staff are so knowledgeable, supportive, and easy to talk to - they'll bend over backwards to make sure we understand what is going on with our cats. My first experience having to put a pet to sleep also came while under the care of Best Friends. I cannot thank Dr. Horsch enough for the empathy and humane care that she showed for us and our cat who is now gone. Place is very nice and clean. The vet Dr Horsch is pretty good with very friendly staff. The only thing is that their prices are really high. We've heard this quite a lot from friends. We are new to the area so we have only been there twice with our two goldens. I think the prices are comparable to the Banfield prices. Read Less

Very stressful experiance.  They have a nice building which clients are paying for through highly inflated fees, their bills include things like (facility fees, waste disposal fees and admin fees thats before the examination even)  The starting price for an exam before any treatment was huge.  Lots and lots of upselling.  Pushy nurse.  Will not go back here again Read Less

Took my 15 year old cat in for a check up. She's developed a growth on her ear and I was concerned. They stalked me for 6 months, by phone and email, and made me feel like a bad person because I can't afford to spend $500 to get her teeth cleaned. She had rubbed and cut her mouth on her shed'n blade the day before (which she does often, crazy cat). They assured me it was more than that after less than 5 minutes with her. I can't even afford to spend that kind of money on my own medical bills in this economy. Besides she likes to chew on nip covered toothbrushes which I've been told by other vets (before and since than) is good enough.  Used to love this clinic before they upgraded and moved.
