I'm always greeted and helped promptly, they are very professional yet friendly and kind. The staff here are also informative with what my pets needs are and walking me through the steps in which will provide my pet with the best of care. I've been going to this clinic for about 10 years now. Love all the vets. They are all very knowledgeable and I never feel rushed with the time we have with the vet. We actually just lost one of our cats yesterday and the next day we received a card signed by all the vets another card indicating the vet made a donation in my cats name and a beautiful rose. My 11 month old English Springer Spaniel, Cali has been coming to this vet since she was 7 weeks old. On two separate occasions Cali had gotten sick and VMA answered all my concerns and got Cali in right away to be seen. On Friday Cali had surgery to be spayed. They called me to assure me she was resting well after the surgery and today when I had concerns, I called and was given the answers I needed. An hour later someone else called to check on Cali. I thought that was so sweet and I feel as if VMA cares about my baby just as much as I do! Great care and great staff!! Read Less

I've been going to this vet for years but after yesterday I don't know how much longer I will be taking my pets there. I called in the morning to see if I could get my cat in for a blood sugar check because he was acting a bit not like himself but nothing overly concerning. Well the vet made me feel like I was a horrible person because I wasn't going to drop everything and run him in and was really disrespectful. Finally I get him an appointment which I thought was an$22 dollar blood sugar check which is all he needed over $200 dollars later after this vet checks him over and runs unnecessary blood work he's fine his blood sugar was a bit high which I thought. Very disappointed in the level of service they provide and would like to know why blood sugar checks cost over $200 now. Not everyone is rich and can afford this. If I would have been listened to in the first place I should have only been charged $22.Read Less

My parent's have been taking their animals here since the late 70's early 80's. My last cat was very well known by the staff there. Her name was K.C. and went there from 1991 til she passed in 2005. She went once a year and NO ONE could get her out the holding cage when we'd pick her up besides my dad! I think everyone there tried and even I did once. She wasn't having it!!! We have had excellent care from the doctors and the tech staff. However some of the front desk reception staff can be abrupt and rude. I have found that some of the receptionists can be unwilling to seek out answers to questions. They appear to be bothered if you call the office. I have not found them to be very customer service focused, helpful or pleasant. Our pet is in a current treatment plan with this clinic so won't leave for the continuity, but I wish that as helpful and kind as the tech/doctor staff are, they would transfer that expectation over to the front desk staff. I live in Iowa and use VMA when home (on business or not) because of their outstanding service. The staff is exceptional and their vets treat my dog and I with the utmost respect. My parents had taken their pets to Veterinary Medical Associates since 1963, so when they passed away and I inherited their cat and dog I continued to go there. I always received excellent service and was always given a choice of treatments with all options thoroughly explained. This past week I had to have my parent's dog put down. She was 17 years, 3 months and 17 days old. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. The clinic treated us with respect and made sure that I understood everything completely, even options to continue her life if that was my choice. Since I felt that continuing her life, although it would have been my wish would have been painful for her to endure, I chose euthanasia. I was given a white sheepskin to wrap her in so I could hold her during the proceedure and told that I could remain with her as long as I wished. They gave me a choice of burial, or cremation with the option of keeping her ashes. Another choice was a plaster cast of her paw print, which was very inexpensive and which I chose. I was told that when ready I should just leave and come back on a future date to pay. A couple of days later a single rose and card were delivered. I have had other pets pass away in the past using different vets, and although the care was always very good, this time far surpassed previous experiences. I would recommend them to anyone. Read Less
