My wife and I brought our 10 yr. old Yellow Lab to Hillcrest Vet Hospital for exploratory surgery and removal of an abdominal tumor. I am new to the area. Having spent 8 years with my previous veterinarian, who knew my 13 year old dog very well, I was cautious about finding a new vet. Dr. Chris Cole, and his entire staff, could not have been more warm, welcoming, and kind. Dr. Cole has a soothing manner about him. He was gentle and sweet with my "little old man". After working for a vet that almost killed my dog, I have become extremely wary with vets. My mom suggested Hillcrest and I knew this was going to be my animals new vet. Very professional- Caring, welcoming and informative with treatments, diagnosis, medications etc. Their prices are very reasonable!! The hospital is clean, up to date technology and they really treat your pets as their own. My very nervous and shy dog actually let the staff pet her and give her treats. I 100% recommend this place. We have gone to Hillcrest now for years.. Dr. Cole and his staff are always so nice & very helpful. We switched Vets years ago as at the old Vet we never got any answers for issues with our pets. Dr. Cole is the extreme opposite, you never feel rushed out, always willing to take the time with your family pet and you (which we are usually the harder patients). I came to Dr. Cole with my Yorkie, Bella, as a new patient when I noticed a growth in her mouth. I thought it was a simple abscess but it turned out to be a tumor. I was so afraid for my Bella and Dr. Cole was so kind and explained everything so that I could understand what we were dealing with. Bella had surgery to remove the tumor, which included removing a portion of the bone in her upper palate. She came through great and dealt with it much better than her human parents did. For reasons I won't get into here, the vet techs today actually fought over who got to treat Zoe, my cat. She isn't an easy cat to treat, but I think she was so appreciative that she felt better after the treatment, only because she has hopped on my lap several times today with unusually intense affection. My thank you could not be expressed more. I have an 8 month old Bullmastiff by the name of Calesi. Calesi has really bad allergies which was determinded at her recent visit to Hillcrest Animal Hospital. She was prescribed antibiotics but Calesi's tummy was so sensitive and she was throwing up for the last two days. I called Hillcrest Animal Hospital and left a voicemail at 8pm not expecting to hear anything back until tomorrow when they opened. I received a call 5 minutes later from an unfamiliar caller along with a voicemail. The voicemail was from Dr. Chris Cole saying he is sorry to hear Calesi isn't feeling well. He asked that we do not give her any further medications and if he gets worse to please call him back and he would meet me at the clinic to push fluids on her tonight Otherwise he would have the staff call tomorrow to see how she is doing and come up with an alternative plan. I was in complete shock that they care that much to follow up after hours!! This staff has been amazing for both my sick puppy and my cat who has had some urination issues. The doctors and staff at Hillcrest have been so wonderful in caring for our bulldogs over the past 14 years. having brachycephalic (flat, smooshy faced) dogs, we need people who understand their 'special needs' and everyone there seems well aware of the risks and health concerns associated with bulldogs, pugs, frenchies, boston terriers, ect. . i will recommend Hillcrest Animal Hospital to anyone looking for basic or emergency care for their beloved pets!!!!
