Our hamster reached that age where she could no longer eat or drink so I call Kenosha Animal Hospital and they got us in same day. The staff was very kind and the vet had a lot of compassion for our little friend and explained exactly how the procedure would go. So fast forward about a week and we received a condolence card with the sweetest "Rainbow Bridge" elegy. I have been using this vet for 10+ years and have been fully satisfied. I have used them for all routine care and emergency care many times over the years. They have always treated me and my family respectfully and clearly discussed all options available. Their compassion for animals has always been priority over money and scheduling. When my dog needed to stay for a week of emergency care we received around the clock updates, and pictures. Their Vet techs stayed and hand fed my pup until he regained his strength. This place is a HORRIBLE place! They DO NOT care about your fur baby! all they care about is your money! The vet told me that my cat had kidney failure in one kidney, but he didn't do x-rays so there was NO way for him to know this! I had her back three months after he told me this, but it was like he didn't know what he was talking about! I called today to see if they carried iVet food. I just moved to the area and don't have established vet yet. The receptionist said they had food for my puppy but they don't sell to non-established clients. I asked for her to make an exception this one time because I'm from burlington and the next closest place is Beloit, she responded very snarky with a no, suggested buying online and hung up the phone. This vet services are not up to real vital emergency care. They stated they are but in true do not. I dont know why this is their public policy when it is not their practice . They also demand $200 dollar deposit for new patients. Yet the excuses they use for it are totally false. They also don't want complicated cases. They tell go else where. Read Less

I would never take my pets anywhere else. The staff at KAH are competent, kindhearted and do a wonderful job of taking care of our pets. Dr.carysle and group are amazing! They have been so good and supportive to my Hazel for 8 years. I can't thank them enough in helping me keep her alive for all these years. I adopted shepherd/boxer mix Gracie when she was 11 years old. This Summer, as she turned 14, we moved into a motor home and headed to Kenosha for the Summer to visit. Gracie could not get in or out of our motor home without assistance and frequently opted to stay laying down when she used to happily greet me at the door. I started to worry how much time we had left together. My dear friend, Sue Kalek, introduced me to Dr. Carlyle at the fundraiser for Kenosha's Forgotten Friends. He told me he could help Gracie. He gave me hope where my San Diego vet had not given me any. After visiting Dr. Carlyle and starting pain and arthritis medication, Gracie showed improved mobility and enthusiasm within days. It has now been 3 months Gracie has been on the medications and she bunny hops in and out of the motor home unassisted. We walked 2 miles every morning and less in the afternoon. My family wants to thank all of the KAH staff for the thoughtful and respectful way they helped our family say good bye to our furry family member Spike. Spike left this world yesterday afternoon after spending the day at KAH like a king, spending the day up in the reception area with the staff laying on several blankets. Dr. Grogan who was filling in for Dr. Carlisle, treated all of us with the utmost respect during our grief and gave us as much time as our 5 family members needed to say good bye. I'd also like to thank Dr. Carlisle for taking good care of Spike through his 11.5 years on this earth. Dr. Carlisle did eye surgery on Spike a little over a year ago for a large sty. Spike looked great afterwards. You couldn't tell he ever had anything done. This is a very hard time for my kids and myself but we want to think you for making it a little easier by being the ultimate professionals AND having caring hearts and showing their remorse for our lose as well. They are the best Drs. and Staff. They have taken care of all my babies for years and loved my beloved Raven as much as I did... Even the boarding staff thought she was great and took such good care of her to the end. Best place ever! I board my babies there too, because of the trust I have in all of them. Couldn't ask for a better group of people. Dr. Carlisle is top notch. Max - our black Lab who has large cell lymphoma is being treated and cared for as if he is one of their own. The care and concern for Max comes through with every word and every touch. When we've run late because of our work situation they have waited for us as it was a critical time for Max to be seen. My husband and I took our dog to this vet because he had a mysterious black lump on his elbow and my sister in law, who works with dogs, thought there was a possibility of skin cancer. We mostly saw Dr. Shine but have seen two other vets here - everybody seemed good. The vet first had us monitor it, but since it increased in size we decided to remove it. I also asked the vet about doggy allergies and she recommended over the counter benadryl rather than trying to get expensive tests done. "The end result is the same," she said. "After the tests they're just going to tell you to give him benadryl." I really appreciated this honesty rather than them trying to sell us expensive procedures. Anyway, we had the surgery done, got the lump tested (not cancer!) and they worked with us on cost. They also did several free surgery re-checks because 2 of the stitches split. Put some stuff on it to make it close up, and kept doing free re-checks. Very professional and affordable, and they seemed to genuinely care about our dog. We'll be back. Read Less
