Any time we needed to make an appointment for our fur babies, they have been great in getting us in quickly. Or dog, Princess, has anxiety but loves the staff! They are so friendly, helpful and patient with her. She has a terrible case of inflamed and irritated skin that she constantly licks and scratches at. They took their time to go over Princess' past medical history, social history, diet and daily lifestyle and did a thorough physical exam with some tests. Figured out she has an allergy/sensitive skin and a little infection. And our two cats, Yoda and Leeni, love them as well. Yoda was a ferral kitten I had managed to nab up (literally) and she still remains skittish around anyone other than my Husband or I. Except she does great with the staff here! The cats had a BAD case of fleas last year, so bad we had to quarantine them away from or new born son. We tried everything over the counter, but nothing was helping them. Poor Yoda had it the worst. They have us some stronger flea treatment and room spray, worked like a charm! I can't say enough good things about this clinic and their staff! Read Less

The staff is always so friendly. They take the time to explain things to me, ask if I have any questions, and treat my cat as if she was their own pet. I had bad experience with another vet hospital in Kenosha with my other cat. I know Wendy outside of Wolf. I told her about my experience at the other hospital. She said to give Wolf a try. My cat is thriving due to the care given by the staff at Wolf Merrick Animal Hospital. Everyone is friendly, courteous and helpful. I feel very confident that my feline family member is getting the best care here. My dog was sick on a Saturday and I called them the second they opened. They got her in that morning and with their help and medicine, she was back to her regular, adorable/loving self in a very quick manner. SO GLAD they offer weekend hours AND they were also super helpful and I really felt like they cared about my dog while we were there. I use to like this place, until I took my dog to get her second Lepto booster. She had a nurse appointment, so one of the nurses took her in the back instead of giving her the shot in the room. They got her mixed up with a different dog, didn't give her the shot, but instead drew her blood. Never going back to this place, and will be reporting to the WI Veterinary State Board. Read Less

Great place. Everyone is very kind and helpful and I don't feel embarrassed in the least making a fool of myself with my dog in front of them. They are very thorough and I think if I had gone to my old vet for an upcoming procedure they would not have tested so much and my guys life would have been in danger. I CALLED HERE to get my dog in but they wouldn't take walk ins.So they referred me to an emergency hospital in Racine Wisconsin WVRC Emergency & specialty pet care. I had the worst horrific experience with the vet, She scared me with the diagnosis of my dog, she wanted to perform a exploratory surgery on my dog staring with 2700.00 to 4700.00 doller. the more exploring they would do it will increase the amount. she was 80 % sure that this procedure needed to be done so I was debating to leave him there or bring him home. But also got a bad felling about it so I decided to take the risk and decided to leave my dog there. we took the other the second thing get a shot for the vomiting and liquids under the skin and brought him home with me. But she expect me to bring him back the next morning to perform the surgery,dog didn't improve during the night.I almost went back to them but I decide to go to a Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove, Ill. and to my surprise my dog didn't need a surgery and nothing was wrong with his stomach to perform a surgery of the magnitude. was not about the money, is about the suffering she was going to put my ten month french bulldog .Open him and perform a exploratory surgery on him. nobody in his- her right mind opens a dog or any other animal without knowing what the problem is. my point is Wolf Merrick Animal Hospital Shouldn't refer an Emergency Hospital like WVRC without knowing what kind of vets are performing there. Vets are suppose to be professionals caregivers not ignorant people who want to put our pets in more pain , because in my case she was about the money not about the care of my little buddy.. One of the best vet clinics I've been to. Friendly staff, easy to talk to, very comforting environment. They don't accept CARE credit but will work with you if you can't pay everything in full. Which is great being on my budget. The staff made me feel comfortable and didn't criticize me because I couldn't pay everything in full. Instead they worked with me and showed me what I should get done first for my cat then come back and get the other appointments done. Read Less

Took my cat smokey in for some eating issues on a day that the power went out and even under these circumstances the staff and vet took the time to make an evaluation and handle everything with care. We were new to Kenosha and tried 2 other clinics until we found Wolf Merrick. Thankfully a new friend recommended Wolf Merrick and so we gave them a try. Far better than the other clinics we had been to. The staff is very knowledgeable, thorough and friendly. They do not over vaccinate or oversell and they listen to your specific needs. I have been taking my dog to this vet since we moved to Kenosha, and I cannot speak any higher of them. They have been so good with her, and so caring and through. Very professional, too.  They are not a cheap place, but they are worth every penny. The only thing of concern is the turnover in vet staff that they have experienced lately.  Otherwise, I really like this place. Read Less

I absolutely adore everyone at Wolf Merrick, the receptionists, the techs and the doctors; everyone is friendly, caring and knowledgeable. I've been taking my two dogs there for almost six years and have received services from regular annual check-ups and vaccinations, to surgical care as well as behavioral advice. The doctors here take the time to really talk to you and help figure out what treatment plans will work best for your family, your schedules and your budget. The genuine love and care Wolf Merrick staff have shown for me and my girls is invaluable. They've become sort of an extension of our family. This is the best veterinary clinic I've been to. I just left this vet about 15 min ago and I am shocked they have so many positive reviews, I wish I could say I had the same experience but I did not. I would not go to this vet again. Makes me wonder if they somehow filter their reviews. Any who, I get to the vet and they take a look at my cat and advise me of tests they would like to run. I nodded and agreed and they told me they would then bring in my estimate. Upon bringing in my estimate, it seems like they had the treatment all figured out before even running the tests, which I found was odd. But I figured things can change etc and they would let me know if that was the case.The tests took about 5 minutes, and they decided to continue to push getting flea medication and some antibiotics. When going over the form of the antibiotics, they advised there is an injection form and a oral form. I was told they are both the EXACT same thing and just as effective, however the oral form is less in cost. Well with my bill already at about $150 (no medication) I agreed to do the oral form since they were pretty much the same. The girl leaves the room, and as I look at the paperwork, the cost is 3 dollars less then the injection. 3$dollars? Really Ok, so I waited for the girl to come back to let her know I wanted the injection since there was NOT a price difference like I was told their was. She advised me the doctor was with another patient, so I said nicely that I would wait. The girl look surprised and then left for about a minute and came back explaining to me that she can not give the injection because the medication was already mixed together. I was shocked that for as much as this place says they "care" about animals, the doctor pretty much ended my appointment short and disappeared after going over the meds. I had more questions about my cats condition but at this point I was getting so many "umms and blank looks" from the nurse.I took the medication for my cats sake and just left. Oral medication is not a big deal for me and my pet, but the response from this vet I just found very rude and cold. The lady at the front desk was nice but other then that, both the women I dealt with were not friendly like these reviews said so. I feel like my appointment was rushed and the doctor just cut out and when I had a question for her to come back, she was busy and was telling the nurse what to tell me which is not professional at all. Being a new resident out here, at least I am happy I found where NOT to take my pets and got some antibiotics for my cat. Read Less

Extremely friendly, caring staff.   The veterinarian- I have only had experience with Dr. Rockwell- is very knowledgeable and will do anything and everything that is best for the pet, even recommend specialists in Illinois, Madison.  I truly appreciate her dedication to the needs of the animals as well as the owners.  She does not let "the business" affect her medication decisions:  The well-being of the animal is the most important to her as well as the staff.  Sadly, in spite of all of their efforts, my beloved 17 1/2 year old cat passed away.  I recently adopted a new furry family member and Dr. Rockwell is her veterinarian.  I am comfortable and confident that me new cat will be well cared for by those at Wolf Merrick. I have brought two of my dogs here now. I am quite pleased with the service and attitude of this vet. They are so sweet to my dogs, and they love going. The encourage us to come by anytime. And they always shower them with treats. Pricewise they are just as expensive as other vets. I think all vets cost about the same. But I do like all the personality that is bottled up in those doors.
