I just got a new puppy, and from the day we got him he was having some digestive issues, plus going through a lot of stress moving home. Not only did the clinic take effort to see him as soon as possible, but the doctor stayed with me answering questions for a good 30 minutes after the exam to make sure I was empowered with as much information as I could get about training, puppy health, developmental milestones, and resources in the area outside the clinic. The same level of care and attention came from all other staff as well. They have taken every phone call, answered every question, and followed up proactively. Our family has been taking our pets to Animal Hospital at Hillshore for over 20 years. Unfortunately, with the retirement of Dr. Bucchli, it has been taken over by your classic profit mongering veterinarian. They will try to force every vaccination and service on you, regardless of whether they are needed or even in the best interest of your pet. They will definitely take great care of your pet, if you would like to pay for every service and get things that you don't even need. A recent call to the vet to check on shots for our dogs had the receptionist claiming we had a balance for an office visit and shots that we cancelled and did not even receive. In addition, we have never received any bill or notice that there was an outstanding balance. Read Less

I have been taking my dog to animal hospital at hillshore for 6 years, it has always been a pleasant experience for me and my dog.  Dr. Buchli is a kind and gentle veterinarian, who doesn't push unnecessary tests or procedures, there is never a hard sell for anything. He gives you the information and answers any questions you might have, but let's you make your own decision. If you are looking for a glamorous office, this isn't it. We adopted two very healthy, friendly kittens from Hillshore a little over 2 years ago, and have taken them there for veterinary treatment ever since. We also buy all of our supplies there, and have boarded the cats there once or twice.Dr. Buchli is an excellent vet and I have always found the staff to be friendly, caring and professional. Maybe a little rough around the edges at times, but they take great care of my cats. I would recommend this practice wholeheartedly. Read Less

We recently took our dog to the Animal Hospital at Hillshore for a grooming appointment. We weren't thrilled with them the first time we had her groomed there but went back a second time because we had a Bucky Book coupon and it made it such a great deal. When I booked the appointment I she looked us up in the computer and I informed her I would be using a Bucky Book coupon. She said no problem and booked the next available appt which was several weeks away because they only groom on certain days. When my husband dropped our dog off in the morning for her appointment they informed him we were not able to use the coupon because it was for new clients only. I wondered why she hadn't brought this to my attention when I booked the appointment. When I picked up our dog later in the afternoon, I spoke with the receptionist who stated "it was my fault for not reading the entire coupon." To a point she was correct but it does say something about the customer service there. Even more so when I told her I was going to write a negative review and the receptionist stated "I don't care." Our grooming appointment was $78. There are numerous, more reputable places in town which are much cheaper than the Animal Hospital at Hillshore. And they don't have lights flickering in their exam rooms like a bad horror movie the Animal Hospital at Hillshore. Read Less
