I just had the most unpleasant experience trying to get a prescription card from this location. The receptionist was inattentive from the get go. When she finally turned to help me she was short and told me that I would need to have my OTHER Banfield fax the prescription over (they are all connected through the computer). Fine, I did that. I went back in and she proceeded to tell me that my dog had not been seen at this location and that they wouldn't be able to issue a prescription card. He has been seen there several times, but she insisted I was wrong. Things got heated. She was at this point rude. My anger escalated due to her disrespect. The ONLY reason we are still going to banfield is we are obligated due to our plan contract. As soon as May 16 comes and goes we are saying goodbye to Banfield after 10 loyal years. It's really unfortunate that a loyal customer is treated so poorly.Read Less

When we moved to Madison I brought my dog to Banfield for the convenience factor and a lot of people around the area seemed to come here also. From the very first visit we were not allowed back with our dog, did not meet the Dr. and she was kept in a kennel all day but we were already locked into their year long contract. Then in January our dog was having some stomach issues over several days so we brought her in. The receptionist went over a laundry list of tests they could do and we opted for a test for Giardia and a physical exam and was told they will call us with results before they do further testing. She asked me to sign the testing permissions right then and there so I wouldn't have to come back in in case there was something urgent needed to be done and they didn't have to wait. I reluctantly agreed. Needless to say I never received a call until she was ready to be picked up. I walked in and was told they did the tests, also xrays which I had not approved or discussed the need for with the doctor. I was told I had to pay $450 on the spot, and that there was nothing wrong with her besides an upset stomach. There was a different receptionist there than when I had dropped her off and she told me since I signed for the tests there was nothing she could do. Of course the well being of my dog is much more important to me, however, I would have appreciated more communication in the process. They were uncooperative when we asked for copies of the xrays. There is no doubt in my mind that there are people there who care about the animals, but they run the vet clinic like a business, for profit. Ever since I got my puppy, I've taken him to Banfield. I signed up on the puppy plan and then renewed to the adult plan. I'm very displeased with the service I just experienced. 2 weeks ago, I called to make an appointment for my dogs comprehensive exam. I was told I would have to drop him off and pick him back up. I told the receptionist that I would rather stay with him for the exam but she insisted that the vet prefers them to be dropped off. I don't know of any other vet that works this way, unless your dog is going in for surgery. In addition, I am a loyal customer making a request to stay with my dog while his exam is completed. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt this time and I brought him in at the scheduled "appointment" drop off time, 8:45am. While checking him in, I asked when he would be done and they told me after 4pm. I requested that he be done by 1pm at the latest and they told me this was not possible because they are short staffed and over booked... So my dog has to sit in a kennel all day because you're having staffing issues and over-booked appointments?! Needless to say I declined services and had them bring my dog back out to me. I'm very disappointed and I don't feel that my wishes as a loyal customer and wellness plan member were honored. I will not be returning to Banfield and I have cancelled my wellness plan. Read Less

Banfield Pet Hospital has established a reputation for diligent customer service and support. Banfield Pet Hospital in Madison provides veterinary services through the interaction of spatial memory and energy balance. From the moment clients enter the facility until they leave, the entire experience at any of their locations across Wisconsin is meticulously designed to enhance pets’ sensory clarity. The appointment rooms are always set up in the same way. The furniture arrangement, lighting, and other room aspects are identical daily. Even the doors to the room are always opened the same way. Personnel employ subdued vocal tones, restrict movement patterns, and implement transitional pauses for the pet to acclimate better. Scents are neutralized between visits to prevent layering, which helps immensely in smell control. Pet owners obtain permission to be positioned either close or far depending on their pets’ pattern of orientation. Banfield Pet Hospital offers a range of diagnostic services and infection management in addition to evaluating joint health, performing nutritional adjustments, conducting behavior consultations as well as monitoring recovery. Each service appears in a sequence rather than a list. When the animal turns away and lowers its ears, the staff repeats these actions to provide support. The post-op protocols lie in close elucidation of the rhythm reintegration procedures. Families are taught how to sustain the procedural visual schedules at home while reducing sensory stimuli in the house and using soft ambient sounds to maintain sleep cycles. Instructions (which ensure pets can go back to their daily routines without struggling) also entail tweaking the environments. Banfield Pet Hospital offers veterinary services in Madison and neighboring Wisconsin areas by emulating how animals structure themselves through gentle rhythmic patterns and predictable spaces with low-noise decision-making. The practice provides various services such as blood pressure monitoring, genetic disease testing, orthopedic surgery, laboratory bloodwork, and more. These therapies ensure that your pet receives the assistance it requires at every stage of life, from routine wellness checks to intricate medical requirements. Pet owners appreciate the team’s ability to communicate well with clients and understand their concerns, as well as how the clinic explains things in an empathetic manner. The focus is on forming a long-term bond by having the same staff when caring for senior pets, and an emphasis on building trust in emergency situations. Additionally, the clinic is pivotal in educating pet owners and implementing preventive health strategies. Banfield Pet Hospital’s community initiatives help build a solid foundation for pet care and ownership. New and returning clients consistently praise how they are made to feel at ease every time they visit the establishment thanks to the professionalism that grows with current veterinary practice trends.
