I have had a mixed experience at this vet. While I believe Dr. Scarlett has the best interest of animals at heart, the customer service could use a lot of improvement. I was scolded repeatedly for feeding my dog a raw diet, which I had researched extensively. This veterinary practice does not believe in raw feeding and will guilt and shame you for doing so. They are not open to hearing other points of view. They also make it extremely difficult for you to buy flea/tick/heartworm preventatives from any other source but them. They refuse to fax or call in prescriptions to any pharmacy; you must pick it up from them in person. They also put a note on my dog's prescription that said it could not be repackaged. I usually get my dog's prescriptions filled at Costco and could not do so because of this note. I see no reason why it can't be repackaged, maybe because Four Lakes wants you to only spend money there. Also, their "Free Vaccines for Life" program is also a ripoff. You end up spending more money than you save. The program requires you take your pet in for a physical every year, otherwise you will be unenrolled from the program. It also does not cover non-core vaccines, which they will talk you into getting anyway. Many of the core vaccines are good for 3 years, but you're still paying $60-70 dollars for the physical every year. I would recommend going to Whole Pet Vet, Healthy Pet Vet or Eastside Vet instead. There are many vet options in Madison and Monona that have much better customer service. Read Less

I called in without an appointment and they were able to get my cat in that same day. Once I dropped him off, they were very very responsive with letting me what what is going on, giving me updates, asking permission to do various tests, etc. I was very pleased by how responsive they were considering I had to drop my cat off and leave him there for half the day. Dr. Scarlett is without a doubt the best vet I have ever brought my pets to. She goes out of her way for the animals in her care, and for their owners. She follows up with and spontaneously checks in on her patients when a problem arises and is so kind, genuine, and caring towards both the pets, and the people who love them. I had previously gone from vet to vet attempting to find someone I liked and then found Dr. Scarlett. She did and tried everything for my elderly dog and I was so grateful to find someone who actually cared as much as she did. After my dog passed, I got a puppy about 6 months later and was devastated to find out Dr. Scarlett was no longer with the clinic I had seen her at before...until I found she had opened her own clinic. I couldn't be happier the whole team at Four Lakes and will never, ever take any of my pets anywhere but to Dr. Scarlett and Four Lakes Veterinary Clinic. Read Less

Dr. Scarlett and the team at Four Lakes are as good as it gets!  We followed Dr. Scarlett from Mcfarland because the way she cares for our pets simply cannot be found anywhere else.  I would recommend her to anyone looking for a veterinarian who truly loves animals and cares for each one as if it was her own. She takes her time, never recommends unnecessary services or tests and makes sure pet owners have a full understanding of their pets needs.  She is really one of a kind and once you and your pet meet her, you'll wonder why you didn't come see her sooner! Much to their dismay, we've had to bring our kittays to Four Lakes Veterinary Clinic for a variety of reasons within the past year or so and even though it's not so enjoyable for our cats, we think Four Lakes is just wonderful!  It's obvious Dr. Scarlett and the staff loves animals and are great at what they do.  I once found a stray dog wandering around my neighborhood and brought him by Four Lakes to see if he was microchipped.  The staff was so helpful.  The vet tech saw the pooches nails were wwwaaayyy too long and went ahead and trimmed them and gave him a treat afterwards. It's always been easy for us to get an appointment and we think their fees are very reasonable. As an added bonus, when you visit you may get to see Charlie the clinic cat lounging around. Read Less

Everyone is very nice and Dr. Scarlett is very knowledgeable and approachable. They do not typically stock my dog's medication but they've ordered it for me with ok delivery time (could be they don't make orders daily like some larger vets I've been to?) It was great news for me that they do their own blood work ups too! Dr. Scarlett has been seeing our dog for 6 years now. We wouldn't dream of taking him to anyone else. Dr. Scarlett and her staff always show so much compassion and really go out of their way to put our dog at ease. Which is good seeing as how he sees her so often with his diabetes. Dr. Scarlett took the time to really teach us how to care for our dogs diabetes and he is now doing great! She also worked hard to help cure him of a really nasty bacterial virus he got last year.
