I love Dr. Carrie. She is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever met; also bonus that it is a holistic vet clinic! A few months ago one of my cats was suffering from Congestive Heart Failure and it was time for my kitty to be at peace. So, Dr. Carrie had come over and we were able to do it in the comfort of our home. My dog and cat always respond so well to Dr. Carries calm and caring nature, and the clinic itself is so warm and home-like that even my cat is relaxed and calm while in the clinic! Dr. Carrie came to our house for in home euthanasia. This was clearly a very sad time for our family and we were devastated that it was time to put our sweet Scout to sleep. She was very caring and showed so much compassion. We were not rushed and were able to take as much time as we needed to say goodbye. This place is incredible! It doesn't feel like a vet at all. It is so warm and welcoming that our dog and kitten were calm the whole time. We spent an hour and a half (an hour and a half!!) with Dr. Carrie discussing everything from a holistic diet for a dog with bladder crystals and what vaccinations are necessary for our rescue kitten. Theirs is truly a holistic approach, which even allows for components of conventional veterinary medicine. We feel like we have had the option of tailoring or approach to our dog's veterinary care, which in our case, minimizes the use of potentially harmful medications (like antibiotics) whenever possible and reasonable. I can't say enough great things about dr. Carrie. We brought our 6 month old Olde English bulldog in to see her after two month of struggling with allergy type symptoms causing severe itching. Or conventional vet went round and round with antibiotics and chemical-based topical sprays that did nothing but make the situation worse. Dr. Carrie spent over an hour listening to us and offering great advice including a food allergy tests we didn't even know existed. The Standard Process antihistamine started working immediately as did the topical spray she recommended. Within a few hours our puppy was feeling 90% better. Literally a life-changing experience. I can't say enough great things about Dr Carrie and her staff at Full Circle Vet. My 9 year old Pug's Mast Cell Tumor Cancer returned with a vengeance a little over a year after a mass was removed with 'good margins'. The surgery was done by my previous traditional vet in Chicago. I wish I would have known then what I know now about dogs and cancer. I would have taken my Pug to see Dr Carrie right after surgery. Dr Carrie treats the body as a whole by offering nutritional recommendations, Chinese medicines, herbs, acupuncture, essential oils, etc....Healing and strengthening the immune system, blood flow, inflammation, pain relief, etc.... My dog had other health problems that were exacerbated by the cancer. In the end, we talked about her quality of life. She transitioned this world in a most peaceful and dignified way. The room was filled with so much love. I'm very grateful for Dr Carrie and a very special person who was also in the room with us. I believe in using both holistic and traditional vet care. I have lived in a half a dozen states over the years with my various pets. Of all the vets I have brought my pets to since I was a young child, Dr. Carrie is by far the sweetest and most compassionate vet I have ever interacted with (and that says a lot since most vets are incredibly kind). The staff and doctor were exceedingly helpful and wonderfully nice. They have a lovely new office at the corner of Fair Oaks & Atwood now. I can't wait to see them again when my cat needs to get his new shots in a few more months. While I was in the office they even helped to track down a doctor who was available to do something for another patient there and get the dog in that day. Dr. Carrie is amazing. We went to her today for acupuncture for my 4 year old dog who in the past two months has been bitten by a dog and then shortly after became paralyzed. She is currently being treated for an autoimmune disease. After much research I made an appointment with Dr. Carrie. I went in stressed and uneasy about everything my poor fur baby has been through. I'd like to update my review. I work regularly with Dr. Carrie for the animals in my rescue, but I saw her today with my 16yo Shih Tzu Sasha. Sasha is really slowing down, and we discussed her comfort level and what we can do to make her feel her best/keep her quality of life as high as possible. I felt really good about the plan. She is good at what she does all around, but where she especially shines is in helping older animals live out their golden years with less pain and more enjoyment. It's so great to have a resource for holistic care and advice for our companion animals! Kindred Spirits is not a 'normal' vet. While Dr. Carrie has great knowledge and know-how of western medicine when it's needed or desired, her knowledge of alternative options is very mind-opening and can improve pets' lives.
