We have a hybrid cat that is very strong and very particular about being touched. Lakeview has been very good with handling him. Their ability to manage him for his neuter was well done and they were even more impressive at his annual exam/shots...Even through my skepticism. Prices here are about what you expect, not high not low. We are very satisfied with our pets' care from Lakeview. You should bring your nice kitties so that they can deal with them to offset our little wild child. Read Less

My elderly cat recently passed and they did such an amazing job helping him through his last days. Once it was his time to go I was devistated but Lakeview helped me so much! They sent me a hand written letter after he passed and even made a keepsake of his paw print as a surprise. Prices were reasonable and the care they gave was absolutely wonderful. Lakeview Vet is tremendous. They're so caring when we bring our pet in and explain each and everything step in their process. They don't simply examine and leave, but instead take the extra time to greet and answer any questions. They even followed up the next day with a call to make sure our pet was feeling better. We love Lakeview, all of the staff are so kind to me and just love my exuberant dog. When ever we have an emergency Kendra always calms me down first and then Gertie is seen as soon as they can make it happen. We had been taking our two dogs to Lakeview since they were puppies and I absolutely love them. The only reason we are not patients of their anymore is because we had to move to Milwaukee - nothing we've experienced in Milwaukee yet can compare to the love and care we received from Lakeview! The staff is extremely friendly - from the vet techs to the vets to the front desk staff. They will love you like their own and make sure you and your pet feel comfortable. As a first time puppy mom, I asked a million questions and they were extremely helpful and patient. Their prices are definitely a little higher than some of the other vets in Madison that we've looked at but I think they are worth it. On days where I was a little short (struggling college student), they allowed me to pay what I could and pay the remainder at the end of the week. I wish we could still be with Lakeview. We have yet to find a vet we like in the Milwaukee area. They are worth every penny - trust me. Read Less

I'm relatively new to the area and needed to take my cat in for a litter box issue. Upon entering the clinic, I noticed there wasn't the usual vet smell. It was a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We were immediately brought into a room, which also helped to keep my cat at ease. He doesn't usually take to strangers, so my husband and I were shocked when he immediately nuzzled right up to them. They were very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and compassionate. I had a few different concerns and they checked all of them efficiently. It was less pricey than I expected from other reviews (exam and meds cost less than 70 dollars), and I was pleasantly surprised to get an email from them with a form covering his exam information. Finding a great vet is hard. This place is fantastic. Everyone was so very patient with a cat that has a pretty long track record of drama in the exam room. We just moved to Wisconsin from Arizona and knew no one, Of course as a worry pet mom, I was very cautious of what vet I would want to take my dog to. I was recommended Lakeview and decided to check it out. I am very happy with my experiences with this clinic. My dog is a very shy skittish boy around strangers and past vets would always try to push a sedative on us so they wouldn't have to deal with his nervousness. But our vet Amelia, took the time to get to know us and spent the time to sit down and talk with my baby boy, and get to know him before doing an exam. Which I appreciate very much because he has a much easier time to relax. Everyone was very nice and patient with him and I am very happy with our very first visit. She really dove in deep to my questions in order to get the best history for him as possible. Then, the vet came in with a student from the UW Veterinary School. I love that they're having future veterinarians learn from practicing veterinarians in the field as I am doing as a student teacher in local schools! They listened to my concerns and really took the time to listen to me and understand my boy. He's not the most confident dog, and so I really appreciated them getting down on the floor with him to meet him at his level. As someone who has worked in a veterinary clinic before, that really makes the difference! Thank you so much for your care and consideration, and we (me and Reggie!) will be back! Can't say enough good things about Lakeview Veterinary Clinic. They helped me during a very tough time when my cat was very sick with cancer and the horrible eventuality of saying goodbye. I received a sympathy card from my awesome vet, Megan, as well as a card that they made a donation to an animal fund that provides assistance to people who need financial assistance with pets, pets without guardians and pets who've been displaced by tragedy. I love Lakeview. I'm terrible with names, so I'm not exactly sure of my vet's name. Either way, all of the staff is fantastically friendly and knowledgeable. I will never take my cat anywhere else. I understand some people's hesitance because of the higher expense. A few years ago my cat was having issues and I took him to Companion Animal Hospital because they were cheaper. On the first visit they said nothing was wrong with my cat and I left. Awhile later my cat started yowling in pain constantly, but with no visible thing wrong with him. My boyfriend and I took him back and paid for $400+ in expensive tests. Still nothing. They turned us away. I just didn't know what to do. A few days later I woke up to my cat peeing blood. My boyfriend made the call to take him to an emergency vet (Lakeview was closed). They diagnosed him right away and began treatment. They said if we had waited 12-ish hours my cat's bladder would have ruptured and he would have been killed. Now I will never hesitate to pay the extra. Lakeview has been very helpful with managing my cat's medical problem. They're very knowledgeable and always know how to help. I find them to be very thorough in their regular exam as well. Those who scoff and claim thoroughness is an excuse to jack up prices, you're wrong. Lakeview really does check for more than others. My boyfriend's family has also been going to this vet for quite some time. More recently they were amazing at helping manage extreme separation anxiety when my boyfriend and I were dog sitting. I also came with for emotional support when my boyfriend's family had to have their very old, lovable dog put down. Lakeview was truly amazing during the whole process. They even seemed emotionally attached to the dog. I've never been more sold on the quality of a business. I would recommend them to anyone.Read Less
