We have been driving from the west side of Madison to the Mazo vet for years. We started there with a pack of five, but are now down to three. The end of life care, advise, and guidance they provided to us made all the difference when our dogs passed away. Caring for an aging pet is especially difficult because they can't speak for themselves, and we often had questions about the next, best thing to do. The Dr.s and staff where always there and willing to help us. Read Less

We've been to the clinic about 6 or 7 times with our cats, all for different reasons. I feel as if most of the staff treats us like we are idiots. Sure, we're not cat experts, but we certainly do care for our cats. The only reason we continue to go there is because it's the closest vet to our house and I don't think it's fair to the cats to make them take a longer car ride just because we don't like the staff. But now I will think twice about bringing them back. Their attitudes are not at all welcoming- bringing your animals to the vet when they need help is stressful and you should be greeted with a smile rather than a bitchy look. They do not take much time to explain things and are not thorough when they do. I just took my cat to the emergency vet in Middleton after visiting the Mazo vet a few hours prior. I was very concerned about my cat and they released him without batting much of an eye. Long story short, I was so impressed with the service we received at the Middleton clinic that it made me realize just that much more how poor the vet in Mazo is. Dr. Tristan Daugherty-Leiter took the time to explain everything to us and we really, really appreciate that. Of course, we had to spend a LOT of money to take him in, but just do what's right from the start for your animal (take them somewhere else, if possible) and you won't find yourself in the same situation as we did.
