Unlike a few other reviewers I have had no trouble with the staff. They have always been helpful and courteous. My cat Hank always feels comfortable in the office. This place is far more helpful than my previous vet. They did just raise the prices, however. Read Less

I would not take my animals to any other Vet clinic. I have been coming to this clinic for over 20 years. DR. Thomas is the best. He spends time with my fur children and also teaches me things I need to know. I always refer people to him. I think because of this, somtimes its hard to get an appointment. But they always get me in. He is always with me whenever I have a hard decision to make. They have 2 other Vets that also take the needed time. My cat had to have emergency surgery on a Saturday morning. DR Crowley took her in. He was the only Vet on that day, but still took his time with all the sutures she needed do to a bad bite from a foster cat. She is doing very well. Almost healed. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Everyone is supportive and will always help if you have questions. I would suggest that you take your animals here. Read Less

I love all the Vets there.  They are all amazing. Dr. Meier is my hero. Most amazing woman. Caring beyond belief. Alot of my friends recommended her!!  However,  the front of the house is pretty close to terrible. I've complained many many times.  One of the ladies is very condescending and gives us misinformation almost every time. Everyone I know loves it there, but has the same complaint.  I really wish they would fix it. We drive across the county to come there. And are more than willing to continue too for Dr. Meier. I can't begin to describe how thankful I am for Dr. Thomas and the staff at this clinic. My dog has been struggling since February with an illness that my previous vet couldn't figure out. He was losing weight as a rapid rate, wouldn't eat, extremely lethargic and it was awful to see. We ended up taking him into an emergency vet on a Friday evening and they discovered that he had a mass in his bowel. The ER told us surgery would be needed and their cost would be somewhere between $4000-6000. We were floored. We scheduled the surgery with their clinic for the following Monday, but I called Community Vet as a friend had highly recommended them, and discussed the issue. They said for us to bring him in Monday morning and they would schedule him for surgery there, with a quote of $650. I was so shocked and relieved that I almost burst into tears. We would have had the surgery at the other facility, but this was more than we could have hoped for. We took him in Monday and met Dr. Thomas. He was very honest about the procedure and the risks involved, so he didn't give us any false hope, but we wanted to move forward and trusted he would take good care of our dog. It was an extremely long day for both us and their staff as we dropped him off at 11:30am and weren't able to pick him up until almost 9:00pm that night. The staff stayed late for our dog and we couldn't be more grateful. I know they have lives and families that they sacrificed time with for us. The surgery was a success and we are a week out from the procedure and my dog is like his old self again already. He was acting back to normal within 3 days, so it's obvious that Dr. Thomas did an amazing job. Someone from the clinic has called us everyday since his surgery to check on him and to answer any questions that we've had. I know our dog has a long road ahead given the issue that he had, but without this clinic he wouldn't be here today. He isn't just an animal to us, he's a part of our family and we were so scared we were going to lose him last week but thankfully that wasn't the case. It's amazing to find a facility like this that isn't in it for the money, but they're in it because they truly care about the animals and their wellbeing. This was my favorite Veterinary Clinic. My dog that had been going there for over 12 years.He was accidentally given pain medication that was fatal to him by a family member. Community Vet couldn't get him in to be seen, during regular hours on a Friday morning when I called. Friday evening I had to finally take him to an emergency vet. They asked that I take him back in on Monday to his Community Vet, to have his blood work rechecked. Well guess what, Monday they couldn't get me in until Wednesday. This is all because of an office worker there. She knows who she is, and she shouldn't let her personal life, be involved with her work life! My dog was an important part of my family, and I only wish the vets that worked there knew what she did, and how I was treated after taking him there since he was 4 months old. I will never, ever, return to Community Vet, and I have nothing good to say about it anymore. I will be using "The Spirit of 76" veterinary clinic that has been voted #1! Some people that want to be an adult, need to act like an adult!! Grow up!! Read Less

Dr. Thomas is outstanding.  Smart, knowledgeable, caring and down to earth.  He's definitely not in the business to gouge, as so many vets are.  I travel a ways to see him, because I think so highly of him.  I recently also started seeing Dr. Meier when Dr. T is busy.  I've been really happy with her as well.  I've recommended them both to friends, who have also been very pleased. Also the customer service skills of the women up front have dropped dramatically over the past year or so this lady is rude she needs to be fired. Having been a client at this location for 6 years, I'm truly disappointed in the staffing at the receptionist desk. The receptionists have been increasingly rude and unpleasant to work with. I simply want to make an appointment for my animal - I don't need attitude at 8 in the morning, as well. The Veterinarians are wonderful, and deserve a 5 star rating. It's unfortunate that I will not be coming here anymore, because of the poor service I received at the desk, time and time again.Read Less

This is the second Veterinary Clinic I've been to since moving to the Milwaukee area and I couldn't be happier here. Both Dr. Crowley and Dr. Meier are amazing. There was one instance in particular, when I was nervous about a lump near my dog's shoulder. Not only did they get me in for an urgent appointment that day, but Dr. Meier handled my dog with grace as she did a fine needle aspiration on the lump. Within 10 minutes she was able to give me the results that it was just a fatty lipoma with nothing to worry about. She even hugged me after because she could tell I was so worried :) Last but not least, this piece of mind didn't even cost an arm and a leg. I paid less than $70. I would recommend Community Vet Clinic to anyone who is looking for exceptional and affordable care for their pets. They're fantastic! Read Less

I have lived in the area for four years, and taken my dog, Leo to this veterinarian since we moved to Milwaukee. From the beginning, I have been blown away by the fast, professional service and low price. They are extremely patient and answer all of my questions and concerns carefully. My dog has always been in great health, but they have been helpful with the few emergencies we have encountered.Emergency 1 - broken toenail. Leo split his nail down to the quick on some ice, and though the vet was about to close when we called, stayed on the phone and talked me through treating the bleeding foot at home, and gave me an emergency number to call. Leo was fine, and I was super appreciative!Emergency 2 - surgical staple. About six months after I had adopted Leo in New Orleans and had him fixed by a clinic down there, I noticed something silver on Leo's "boy parts'. I was confused by this, as the New Orleans vet told me they used dissolving stitches and no follow up was needed. I called Community Vet and they told me to bring him right in (about 3 pm on a Monday). They saw him immediately - removed what turned out to be FIVE surgical staples, and gave me some antibiotics to prevent infection. I was really worried what this would cost, (of course it was a week until pay day) - NO CHARGE. So, we will probably never go anywhere else. Love this vet, love the staff - HIGHLY recommend! yay for the receptionists/assistants at CVC- they were so very nice and understanding. i think i talked with all of them and none got annoyed that i kept rescheduling appointment (it was a tough one). at the office, the woman i talked with at the desk was genuinely kind and caring. the vet i saw was also nice i can't recall his name, but he seemed kind of uncomfortable with me, maybe i weirded him out i was crying a lot. :( wish i had seen Dr. Thomas, saw him several years ago at the other clinic and liked him, but its okay. i think the prices here are fair and i would recommend CVC to other south siders. I totally love this clinic!! Our dogs were given to us by a friend over 10 yrs ago, and she used the clinic. Never really had to take the dogs in for anything other than reg check ups and nail trimming until this Jully 2011. Our 10 yr old chiuhuahua went into CHF on a sunday. Upon his release we took him for his check up with Dr.Crowly, he checked him over and took his time answering all of our questions during this difficult time. His two week check up we seen Dr. Thomas we can""t say enough about these wonderful doctors and the staff there. Dr. Thomas has been my vet for many years. I usually see him at his all cat clinic, Cat Care Plus, but in a pinch I have been able to see him at this location as well. Dr. Thomas has a wide range of knowledge, many years of experience, and a gentle touch. I trust him 100% with my babies, and I recommend him to anyone. In fact, Dr. Thomas has become one of the vets for Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue, and has been able to help solve some of the strange health problems we deal with on a regular baisis!
