I love Dr. Banks, but whoever the front desk person was on 7/5/18 was awful. First, the website says that they open at 7:30 am, but nobody answered the phone until 7:45. Second, when she did answer it was completely muffled for most of the call and I could barely understand a word. Third, when I said that I thought my cat needed to be seen right away she said that they were all booked up for the whole day and basically told me to go to Lakeshore if it was an emergency. What is the point of establishing a regular vet if they can't see you when something is wrong? I get that you're busy, but maybe teach your front office to have some compassion or actually just let me speak personally with my vet. Not super happy right now. So, here I am at Lakeshore ER spending money I might not have needed to spend and working with a vet I've never seen before and who doesn't know my cat. Not super happy right now.

Staff is super friendly. Dr Banks is my vet and I couldn't be happier. She always remembers us when we come in, even though its just once per year, and you can tell she genuinely cares about my dog. She's an obvious animal lover and knows what she is doing. She is always looking out for me and trying to save me money where she can. She is amazing.

Dr. Banks is the best! I took my beloved dog roscoe here for years for his entire life. When the sad time came to put him down, I could not have asked for a better vet than Dr banks. She really cared for him and it meant a lot to me. When I got my next dog, I brought him back here even though we had moved further away because my animals are my babies and I need a vet I can trust. Dr banks will really care for your fur babies. Also I don't consider this vet expensive. It's comparable to the area prices, the care is great, and they will give you an upfront breakdown of costs before you do anything as long as you ask

Dr. Becky Banks is THE BEST. I cannot say enough good things about her; she is kind, patient, dedicated and always goes the extra mile for our pets. We take our 2 cats and 2 dogs to her and they are not all easy patients. I would highly recommend Small Animal Hospital without hesitation. I am very glad I chose this place to take care of my cat, who was diagnosed with diabetes. They were concious of the fact that it can be financially difficult to maintain a pets health, and gave me options that didn't include putting him down, that would help me achieve that. It is nice to know that you're not going to be looked at as a neglectful pet parent if you aren't taking a second mortgage out on your house to care for your best friends.

Our animals have always been given excellent care and done well, whether it was a routine visit or something unexpected. You can tell everyone here cares about the animals they see. Overall a great place to take your pets!

Dr. Banks is a quack. She seems scatter brained and doesn't know what she's doing. Dr. Vogel treated my dog for an infection in 2013 and it cleared up right away. I took my dog back for the same symptoms in 2016 and Dr. Banks decided to try a different combo of medications for whatever reason that DID NOT work the first time, then she prescribed a second round. Which did not work again. In a THIRD follow up, Banks wanted to charge me $350 to include lab work in my dog's treatment so she could decide if she thought a third medication, that I would also have to pay for, would work for my dog. Not sure why Vogel could figure it out in one visit but Banks has taken months and hundreds of dollars to figure it out. I called to complain about all this and discuss reimbursement due to Dr. Banks' blatant mistakes in my dogs treatment and I got barely anything returned to me. Will never go back to this vet again.

My 3 year old kitty swallowed a string and needed emergency surgery. Throughout this scary and stressful time, I interacted with many of the vets and vet techs at Small Animal Hospital. Every single staff person was so helpful and thoughtful, and brought a bit of ease to my understandably worried mind. Throughout surgery, a multiple night stay, and my incessant visits/calls, I always felt the staff went out of their way to make sure I was informed of what was going on, and even simply... that they (really) cared. Patrick, a vet tech, even consoled me and chatted with me when I was feeling a bit hopeless... his kindness with stay with me forever. Dr. Banks created a thorough after-care plan and always made me feel that she was genuinely and fully invested in the health of my cat. Whether a routine checkup or intense surgery, I have had nothing short of excellent service from Small Animal Hospital.

My husband and I recently moved to Milwaukee and chose this vet clinic because of its proximity to our home. We brought our dog in today for his yearly checkup and vaccines. We were quite pleased with the experience. The vet tech and vet were both very knowledgeable and showered our dog with attention, which really helped put him at ease. In addition to the required and must have vaccines, the vet also told us about a couple of other vaccines that, while not required, could be helpful for our dog. What I appreciated, though, is that she didn't try to force the vaccine on us and gave us information to take home to think about whether the vaccines were right for our dog. The vet spent a good amount of time with our dog during the exam and was glad to answer all of our questions. The front desk staff was also very helpful and gave us information on local dog trainers and explained the cost of everything we paid for. Overall, this was a very positive experience.

Dr. Banks is without a doubt the best vet we have ever visited. I've never once felt rushed and she always walks through the pricing so you actually know not only what you're purchasing but why. Most importantly her love for animals shines through every time she walks in the room. She will actually get on the floor and play with my dog which is something I've never experienced with any other vets. I cannot say enough good things about her. If you're in the Milwaukee area, I highly recommend Dr. Banks & the rest of the staff!

We have used Small Animal Hospital for years. My family has always brought our animals to Small Animal Hospital and they have always taken the best care of them. They're one of the best, thorough and well-knowledged group of veterinarians I could have asked for. Now that I'm older I bring my dog to Small Animal Hospital. I would not have it any other way! I live in Menomonee Falls and still bring my dog to Small Animal Hospital due to the quality of care. My vet Dr. Geiken always treats me as if my dog is her only patient. We brought our dog in for her spay and I asked them to look at spots she had on her tummy. It was a bad seasonal allergy infection and they took care of it in the most economical way they could with giving her the best quality of care. I will never go anywhere else. I never feel "taken advantage of."

Love love love SAH! I've been taking my fur babies here for 10 years. I still go there even though I live about 25 minutes away. The doctors and staff are fantastic. The clinic itself is comfortable and soothing for both animals and nervous pet parents. They've seen me through a lot at SAH. Recently they helped save my youngest cat, Pepper, who suddenly was losing weight at a rapid and dangerous pace. Special shout out to Dr. Vogel, she's the best! In terms of cost, they are comparable to any other clinic I've visited. I believe the quality of the staff, services, and building are well worth it.

Be careful - 3 weeks after surgery was done AND paid for they called me saying they messed up and forgot a charge on my bill for 275.70. They were NOT willing to work with me on the additional amount THEY forgot to charge me in the first place and were extremely rude about it! Held NO accountability for their error. The total was much higher than the verbally quoted price, however, according to them the amount the vet noted in their system was what I was charged - this amount was hundreds more than what the vet quoted me verbally for 'worst case scenario.' Always, get a quote in writing. If you wanna get overcharged, and charged even more weeks after services were done and paid for, then go here. Oh, go here if you want rude support staff, too. So disappointed.

All of our animals have always gone to the Small Animal Hospital. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and inviting. They make you feel comfortable while visiting, and are very accommodating. Our animals have always been given excellent care and done well, whether it was a routine visit or something unexpected. You can tell everyone here cares about the animals they see. Overall a great place to take your pets!

Consistent and excellent care no matter which vet we've seen. Knowledgeable and cool front office staff. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Even after two surgeries there, my dog was always excited to go.

Dr. Banks is a quack. She seems scatter brained and doesn't know what she's doing. Dr. Vogel treated my dog for an infection in 2013 and it cleared up right away. I took my dog back for the same symptoms in 2016 and Dr. Banks decided to try a different combo of medications for whatever reason that DID NOT work the first time, then she prescribed a second round. Which did not work again. In a THIRD follow up, Banks wanted to charge me $350 to include lab work in my dog's treatment so she could decide if she thought a third medication, that I would also have to pay for, would work for my dog. Not sure why Vogel could figure it out in one visit but Banks has taken months and hundreds of dollars to figure it out. I called to complain about all this and discuss reimbursement due to Dr. Banks' blatant mistakes in my dogs treatment and I got barely anything returned to me. Will never go back to this vet again.

My 3 year old kitty swallowed a string and needed emergency surgery. Throughout this scary and stressful time, I interacted with many of the vets and vet techs at Small Animal Hospital. Every single staff person was so helpful and thoughtful, and brought a bit of ease to my understandably worried mind. Throughout surgery, a multiple night stay, and my incessant visits/calls, I always felt the staff went out of their way to make sure I was informed of what was going on, and even simply... that they (really) cared. Patrick, a vet tech, even consoled me and chatted with me when I was feeling a bit hopeless... his kindness with stay with me forever. Dr. Banks created a thorough after-care plan and always made me feel that she was genuinely and fully invested in the health of my cat. Whether a routine checkup or intense surgery, I have had nothing short of excellent service from Small Animal Hospital.

I've taken both my cat and dog here for a few years. Every vet and technician has been helpful, patient, and totally transparent about treatment options, cost, and if a course of treatment is worth it. In the end the treatment decision is always my choice but I feel confident to make a decision based on the guidance and information presented. I think the staff is ethical and provide great care.

My husband and I recently moved to Milwaukee and chose this vet clinic because of its proximity to our home. We brought our dog in today for his yearly checkup and vaccines. We were quite pleased with the experience. The vet tech and vet were both very knowledgeable and showered our dog with attention, which really helped put him at ease. In addition to the required and must have vaccines, the vet also told us about a couple of other vaccines that, while not required, could be helpful for our dog. What I appreciated, though, is that she didn't try to force the vaccine on us and gave us information to take home to think about whether the vaccines were right for our dog. The vet spent a good amount of time with our dog during the exam and was glad to answer all of our questions. The front desk staff was also very helpful and gave us information on local dog trainers and explained the cost of everything we paid for. Overall, this was a very positive experience.

Dr. Banks is without a doubt the best vet we have ever visited. I've never once felt rushed and she always walks through the pricing so you actually know not only what you're purchasing but why. Most importantly her love for animals shines through every time she walks in the room. She will actually get on the floor and play with my dog which is something I've never experienced with any other vets. I cannot say enough good things about her. If you're in the Milwaukee area, I highly recommend Dr. Banks & the rest of the staff!

We have used Small Animal Hospital for years. My family has always brought our animals to Small Animal Hospital and they have always taken the best care of them. They're one of the best, thorough and well-knowledged group of veterinarians I could have asked for. Now that I'm older I bring my dog to Small Animal Hospital. I would not have it any other way! I live in Menomonee Falls and still bring my dog to Small Animal Hospital due to the quality of care. My vet Dr. Geiken always treats me as if my dog is her only patient. We brought our dog in for her spay and I asked them to look at spots she had on her tummy. It was a bad seasonal allergy infection and they took care of it in the most economical way they could with giving her the best quality of care. I will never go anywhere else. I never feel "taken advantage of."

Love love love SAH! I've been taking my fur babies here for 10 years. I still go there even though I live about 25 minutes away. The doctors and staff are fantastic. The clinic itself is comfortable and soothing for both animals and nervous pet parents. They've seen me through a lot at SAH. Recently they helped save my youngest cat, Pepper, who suddenly was losing weight at a rapid and dangerous pace. Special shout out to Dr. Vogel, she's the best! In terms of cost, they are comparable to any other clinic I've visited. I believe the quality of the staff, services, and building are well worth it.

Be careful - 3 weeks after surgery was done AND paid for they called me saying they messed up and forgot a charge on my bill for 275.70. They were NOT willing to work with me on the additional amount THEY forgot to charge me in the first place and were extremely rude about it! Held NO accountability for their error. The total was much higher than the verbally quoted price, however, according to them the amount the vet noted in their system was what I was charged - this amount was hundreds more than what the vet quoted me verbally for 'worst case scenario.' Always, get a quote in writing. If you wanna get overcharged, and charged even more weeks after services were done and paid for, then go here. Oh, go here if you want rude support staff, too. So disappointed.
