We just moved to the area and wanted to find a vet close by. My husband and I acquired 2 rough collies last week from a bad situation and were concerned about their health. The level of compassion shown by both vet and staff is unsurpassed by any other vet I’ve ever gone to. Dr. Pasowicz was absolutely amazing with McDuff and Maggie and her assistant Dominique was just as kind and compassionate. Everything about the facility was professional and very clean. Dr. Volker's has been such a blessing for our furbaby. She was very thorough with her explanations of different care instructions after my dog had two surgeries there. We trust her expertise and knowledge and im very thankful for the work she has done with my dog- even when I had a lot of questions about things. She was happy to answer to the best of her ability and steer us in the right direction. So far so good. I have a very healthy 3 year old Lab . I feed him the best food and exercise the heck out of him . I've only given him the bare basic vaccinations as I will not over vaccinate . Veterinarians make a large share of their profits from vaccinations so I refuse to compromise the dogs immune system by over doing them . Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic was excellent to work with.  The price was right, the staff was friendly, and my dog, who usually bites, was calm and comfortable.  We went there mainly for Physical Therapy to strengthen our dogs back to minimize the chance of another herniated disk. My boyfriend and I haven't taken our dog Baxter to the vet in quite a while (due to him being healthy along with not finding a place we were comfortable with that was nearby), but we finally found our official clinic. Staff was friendly and genuinely concerned from the moment I booked our appt (and got in 24hours later), respected my Baxter as a nervous patient not as a dog, respected me and my boyfriend by answering any questions and reassuring our baby was in good hands, very knowledgeable staff, organized and clean clinic, reasonably priced, kept the appointment moving but not being pushed out. I was hesitant to come here because I heard from neighbors and coworkers that they are expensive and like to charge for extra stuff. So I figured I will make the appointment and get a breakdown of the 3 vaccinations and the exam. Pretty clear right. So after my appointment I go to pay and it's about 60 dollars higher. Guess what they snuck in another test and were pushing me to do another one which I was told wasn't necessary. Then at the front desk they try telling me I have to do it in order to get the heart worm medicine. Not true because I ordered it online?!? Such a great vet clinic. My poor kitty has an anemia immune thing going on so I've had to take her in quite a few times the last month. I had Dr. Haynes twice and Dr. Binor once. Both called to make sure my cat was okay after visits, and called back ASAP when I had a question. I've talked to other people, and they've never heard of vets checking in on you. Dr. Binor has true compassion! Dr. Haynes has mainly been caring for my cat and she is very bubbly. Great service and care. Only issue would be getting charged for an examination when you don't request one. Happened twice to me. The tech asked if there was anything going on with my dog. I said he snorts sometimes or sneezes and the vet would come in and listen to his chest, say he seemed fine and then I would be charged $60 for an examination that I didn't know was taking place. Now I just say everything is fine so this doesn't happen. Other than that, everything else is good. Just wished they'd asked if we wanted a health examination before actually doing one. Read Less

The entire staff at WVC is fantastic. I have a bulldog, a breed that can sometimes need special care, and I am extremely comfortable with the treatment she receives at the clinic. We prefer Dr. Tenorio, though have had really positive experiences with the other vets as well. They are all very thorough, and I am extremely comfortable with their recommendations for my dog. I came in for a anal gland expression and was shocked when I was told my bill increase almost 50% to $22. When I asked when the price increased, I was told the new price went into effect just a few days before. I asked if it was customary to inform patients of such a significant increase if it occurs just days before your appointment. The girl at the desk just said "No" and turned away. I found her response and attitude to be very rude, and she obviously doesn't care about my business or my dog. The clinic is very close and Dr. Binor and the vet techs have always been pleasant to me and my pets in the past, but I found this last visit to be very disappointing. :( Read Less

Respectable, convenient, honest, and informative. What more could you ask for?We've been taking our precious spoiled puppers here since we brought her home from the Humane Society six years ago. Fortunately for us, our dog has been happy, healthy, and hearty. The few nonscheduled visits were for some skin and eye related concerns I haven't experienced before with our last dog. The staff here was very knowledgeable and assured us they were not serious and suggested we do nothing and see what happens before we consider other more invasive treatments. The vets were right. Nothing else needed to be done. Our last vet would have sold us expensive drugs and immediately suggested expensive treatments. It's time to get her teeth cleaned again. It's an expensive procedure, but a necessary one. We had it done three years ago and the results were stunning. We explained that she did not come out of the anesthesia gracefully, so the vet made notes to use a different type of anesthesia this time. I love their concern. The staff always seems to genuinely love our dog, even though they only see her once a year. The only non-positive comment I can make is that everyone I know seems to go to a cheaper vet. I do feel that I get what I pay for though. Peace of mind is never cheap. Read Less

I would tell ALL my friends and their friends too That I would NEVER recogmend this clinic to anyone I and my mother have been going to this Clinic for more than 40years and spent thousands of dollars. I called to have my Very loved dog put to sleep and they asked me has he been in in the past 6 months. When I told the no but it does'nt matter because I will be putting him to sleep in 5 minute they had the nerve to tell me that they would like to do an $50 exam to "get to know him again" before they put him down. Tosa Vet is a very nice clinic - we prefer Dr Tenorio but often see one of the other vets. All of the doctors we've seen have been knowledgeable, thorough and kind. Prices are fair - I don't feel like they overcharge or recommend things we don't really need.The stars here are the vet techs! Whoever does the hiring at Tosa Vet has managed to hire some of the nicest young ladies who truly do love animals. Very happy with the service we get here always. They seem to really know a lot about pets and always take the time to give a quality exam, fully explain your options and then walk you through your decisions or next steps. Whenever my cats have been sick, they've been wonderful about helping us stay on top of medicine dosage, follow-ups, etc. It's not the cheapest vet ever, but it's certainly a quality one. I've taken two dogs to this clinic over ten years. Lost one three years ago, and, began taking my new guy here. All my experiences have been GREAT! I love the woman vets more than the man. The man is good, but, the women are better. Just my feeling. But, the workers really care and call and seem concerned. I've noticed some of the good people leaving lately. Maybe the economy? But, the ones they have still working for them are quite good, too. I can only say good things about them. I'm very happy they care for my dog. I feel SUPER comfortable with them at the helm. Sometimes, they can be a little higher in price, but, they are always worth it for the satisfaction I receive. They give an extra touch, and, always take much time in talking to me and answering my questions. My dog likes going there. If ever I have had a concern, I've told them, and, they'd taken care of it. People are not perfect, no place is always running 100%. But, they strive for the best and seem always to give that to me. I've very happy with this clinic! They go the extra mile and then some! My experience with this clinic was not good. I questioned the fact that I was charged $46 for an exam prior to a vaccination when my puppy had just had an exam few weeks before. I was told "99% of the people do not even question the charge". I was treated very rudely and will not return to that clinic. I was told different information by different people - training of their staff must not be adequate. Read Less

I recently took my dog to the Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic where I found out that my dog is hypothyroid. The staff was very caring and helped me understand what was going on with my dog. I took a new puppy for a wellness check, she was inoculated by the breeder, an experienced breeder who was known for excellent dogs for over 20 yrs. The vet didn't accept the shots given and inoculated the puppy again, in addition to this the vet was rough with this little dog, a 10 week old dachshund, so it was not like it was a 140 lb mastiff. While I can't say for sure, but I believe these double inoculations weakened the immune system of my puppy, in 3 weeks my once healthy puppy was dead. The reviews here seem ok for this vet, but I suggest you look around the web, you will find my feelings in the majority for this establishment. I will never, ever take one of my animals to this wretched place. Be warned. Read Less

We found the entire staff to be warm, caring, and considerate of our pets needs as well as ours. We have been going there for more than 12 years. Dr. Tenorio is our vet of choice. He is deeply committed to our pet's health, yet mindful of our pocketbook. When our 16-year old cat reached the end of his trail, the entire staff held our hands those final weeks and cried with us. Then they made a contribution to the UW School of Veterinary Medicine in our pet's name. Their office staff know all of our pets by name and their vet tech's do volunteer work at local animal shelters. They are committed to their community as well as their patients.
