Being new to the area we needed to find a vet for our failing 14 1/2 years old lab. We called several clinics with no available appts in the next week. We called Monroe Vet Clinic and Dr Amy saw us ...
Being new to the area we needed to find a vet for our failing 14 1/2 years old lab. We called several clinics with no available appts in the next week. We called Monroe Vet Clinic and Dr Amy saw us the next day. Looking for end of life comfort care for our lab, Dr Amy was the best. Dr. Amy is gentle, compassionate, very skilled and knowledgeable. She sat next to our dog on her pillow as she examined her. Dr. Amy was able to help us keep our lab comfortable with a good quality of life. Sunday morning our dog was actively dieing. We called the Vet Clinic and Dr Amy returned our call in a few minutes. Dr. Amy was kind and supportive over the phone during this time. She offered to assist as we needed. We are thankful that our long time pet was able to end her life peacefully at home. THANK YOU Dr Amy for helping us through this time!
I highly recommend the Monroe Vet Clinic for skilled, compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarian needs.

They charged me almost twice as much for the same service as before and gave me three different reasons for it, charged wrongly the first time, charged this time for a discussion with the vet, so that cost more to talk and that it was my secondary vet service, so I had to pay more, absolutely ridiculous.

My cat had a bite order filed against him from a vet tech here. Puma, one if the sweetest cats I know. He was under anastasia and when he woke up he bit the tech. I had a cop come to my door at 7 am on a Saturday, this was when he was a kitten. He is now 9. I have never went back nor would I recommend going here to anyone. I felt it was extremely unprofessional to call the cops and report something like this when the circumstances were what they were. My cat is NOT aggressive in anyway, nor has he bitten anyone since. Lesson learned, find a more caring and professional place to take my beloved pet.

Dr. Amy is the BEST! Our dog was having continuous seizures and was having a hard time breathing. At 11:30pm we called the emergency line as our dog was suffering. Within 10 minutes we met Dr. Amy at the clinic so our beloved dog could cross the rainbow bridge. She was kind and compassionate. She is the BEST!

Had the worst SECOND experience with Dr Amy today - She is short, ill tempered, and never calls my dogs - one a pitbull, one a German shepherd, by their names.. Only "pitbull" and "big dog".. If you're not comfortable with certain breeds - don't be a vet. Mind you, both of my dogs are friendly and well mannered. No reason for her to be uncomfortable. She also gets upset if I refuse a service - such as heart worm testing (when they've had heart worm medication all year long) or bordetella (kennel cough) administered by me that is good for a year instead of every 6months. Totally in personable, and made me feel like I was a burden and in her way. I will NEVER take any of my pets to Dr Amy. Dr Ed, on the other hand, is amazing. He talks with you, asks if you have any questions, and is generally an amazing vet. Making you and most importantly, your dog feel comfortable. Thank you to Dr Ed for every great experience I've had. You're the best!

My brother called the emergency line because our mom's friend had highly recommended Monroe. What a joke. Our dog was clearly in pain and to the point that she could not walk. My brother explained Bri...
My brother called the emergency line because our mom's friend had highly recommended Monroe. What a joke. Our dog was clearly in pain and to the point that she could not walk. My brother explained Bria's odd behavior throughout the day, as well as any symptoms we had noticed. When he finished, the woman on call told my brother they don't help those not on their client list and to take our dog to UW. They couldn't even just check her out to narrow down what could be wrong. We live in town, why would we drive to Madison if there is a vet on call right in town? I could not believe it when my brother got off the phone and relayed this to me. I don't care if we are normal clients or not, how could you, as a veterinarian, turn away any person calling about a pet clearly suffering? It makes me sick. From this brief experience, I can say I will never again try to take any pets to Monroe, nor will I recommend them to anyone if that is the type of policy they believe in.

The receptionist did even offer to ask the veterinarian if she/he could make time to assist my dog.

From this brief experience, I can say I will never again try to take any pets to Monroe, nor will I recommend them to anyone if that is the type of policy they believe in.

Horrible!! My dog was going to die. He had a bone lodged in his throat. I called Monroe Veterinary to see if they had a vet available, the receptionist replied "we have a vet available but we're book....
Horrible!! My dog was going to die. He had a bone lodged in his throat. I called Monroe Veterinary to see if they had a vet available, the receptionist replied "we have a vet available but we're book." REALLY! The receptionist did even offer to ask the veterinarian if she/he could make time to assist my dog.

Very friendly. They were able to squeeze me in but didn't hurry me along. Dr Ed was fantastic and the ladies (and gentlemen) that were behind the counter were very nice :)
