Today was a stressful day for one of my fur babies (and me) but of course Dr. Sherrod took care of him like he was one of her own. Called right away this morning when my Charlie woke up with a swollen face. My appointment wasn’t even with Dr. Sherrod because she was busy but when we walked in she saw us and took us immediately. I left Charlie in her hands for surgery and knew he would be ok. I swear Dr. Sherrod is a pet angel . Never do I worry when my animals are in her care. Charlie is doing amazing tonight and I can’t thank the staff at MAH for the care they give me and my babies.Read Less

This is the best animal hospital for keeping puppies like me healthy and well alive! I was diagnosed with insulinoma in 2/2016 and had surgery to remove the cancer in 3/2016 and discovered it spread to put me into stage 3 and I would have 7 to 11 months to live from that point. But thanks to experimental cancer treatment plan with Palladia perscribed by the best doggie cancer care center in the world (UW Veterinary Care) by the best team of cancer doctors and having best doggie primary care of my Dr Thompson at MAH at myside, I have beaten all prognosis and still alive with good quality of life 2 plus years later. Dogs with insulinoma with stage 1 has 800 days of survival while stage 3 has less than 200 days. Today is my 800 days from when I was diagnosed (and I am stage 3 as ultrasound confirms spread to liver in 2016) and I will likely see 900, 1000 days and hopefully double 800 days to like 1600 days when I will be almost 15 year old puppy. Dr Thompson and MAH have been providing best primary medical care for me to help me beat this record against serious cancer. I see Dr Thompson at least once a month (40 miles and hour drive from East Kenosha) and she makes me feel better with accupuncture and many special treatments. Fighting this cancer insulinoma with this powerful cancer drug is very hard and difficult at times, but whenever side effects were really bad and I had to take a break, Dr Thompson followed up very closely with doctors at UW Veterinary Care to help me get better so I can continue to fight cancer. It was Dr Thompson who recommended to get cancer treatment from UW Veterinary Care where she has no affiliation with but it was only best place that gave me best chance to beat cancer. 2 plus years later, (5/2018 as almost 12 year old puppy) I am still alive still alive barking, pooping, and tumbling like a puppy thanks to Dr Thompson and everyone at Mukwonago Animal Hospital. If you know any doggies who are very sick or just want to stay healthy in top pooping conditions, I would highly recommend seeing Dr Thompson and Mukwonago Animal Hospital! Having primary doctor who can give accpuncture treatment is real good thing for treating lots of things in safe minimal risk matter. One more thing to note. According to my cancer doctor at UW Veterinary Care, Dr Vail, I am the top pup for cancer survival on Palladia at UW Veterinary and my new shorter drug plan is new experimental plan custom made for me by the best doggie cancer doctor, Dr Vail, who has lots of published work on this drug. He said most doggies who get this drug live less than a year with success being upto 2 years. My special custom treatment plan mirrors how human with cancer gets treated in shorter spans because I have reached 2 plus years on this cancer drug and now I am getting very special new and ground breaking treatment plan that will hopefully revolutionize cancer care for all puppies in the future. Had to bring my very sick puppy here 3 days ago. I can not express enough how happy we are with the service and care for our dog by the technicians and the Veterinarian. Dr. Thompson is extremely thorough and calls us with updates. Katie has been amazing as well. She let us come and visit with our puppy and has taken amazing care of her. We could not be any happier. They had never seen me before, but with our emergency, I waited less than 5 minutes to be brought back to an exam room. They were thorough and kind to our needs with my outdoor kitty. In the end, Bobo was too sick, and with a heavy heart, we sent him to the Rainbow Bridge. Again, nothing but care and compassion for the situation, and towards my kitty and me. We've recently moved into the area, and I plan to make this my indoor kitties new clinic. This still hurts, since it was only last night, but they helped make the process a bit easier. Read Less

It would be cheaper then giving him "baths".. after the 1 chew of Bravecto he was 100% free. And it's been over 1 year now.Read Less

I have a problem with one of the Veterinarians at this clinic. She appears to lack experience treating cats. I took my cat to this vet in September and was told that he was in the beginning stages of heart failure. She gave me diuretic and blood pressure medication to give him. Then, he got sick again, and I took him back in and, she told me he had pancreatitis, and she wanted to put an IV for fluids for 24 hours. I felt like they wanted to charge me too much, so I called another clinic and that clinic said that it would kill him to put him on fluids if he has a heart condition. The next day my cat was better. Nonetheless, I was still concerned, so I took him to the other vet and was given enzymes in case he had pancreatitis. This doctor said there was not anything in his records from the Mukwonago Animal Hospital to indicate he had this condition. This was strange because the doctor at MAH said he had Pancreatitis. The doctor thought his heart sounded fine, but assumed he was diagnosed correctly, so I continued to give him the heart medication. Two months later, I called Mukwonago Animal Hospital to let them know he still was not doing well, but I never received a phone call back from the Veterinarian. I believed it was because of one of the trans-dermal heart medications, so I started giving my cat the medication orally instead of rubbing it on ear. Soon after this, I took him to the other vet to get his nails clipped. I mentioned to the veterinarian that he was not eating well, and she looked at his records. This was another doctor, and after looking at My cats records and listening to his heart, she was puzzled as to why he was diagnosed as having a heart problem. She told me that she would like to do more testing on him. They did X rays and still did not believe he had a heart condition. His health continued to decline quickly the next few days. I took him to the Emergency clinic, and they did an Ultrasound of his heart and said his heart was normal. They found out he had a mass in his colon. My cat died. All of the doctors agreed that the diuretic and and the blood pressure medicine did not help him and could have helped to hasten his death. This Veterinarian apparently does not have enough experience treating cats. She needs to go back to Vet school. Read Less

When I take my dog to Mukwonago Animal Hospital I know he is receiving the best, most compassionate care in the hands of the staff and doctors at the facility. If I could give this rating negative stars, I would. NEVER take your pets here!!! We took our dog after thinking she had a slight fever. After tests and HUNDREDS of dollars, we were told she is in a good bill of health and there is absolutely nothing to worry about . Ignoring our concerns and having our dog for 15 years we know when something isn t right. Obviously, you would think that you could trust that a veterinary clinic who claims they are simply the best would recognize when an animal is not well. Ignoring our pleas to double check her, they sent us on our way and 30 minutes later we were burying our dog. She was perfectly fine and we had nothing to worry about Our response from the receptionist when we called wanting an explanation? well, it s looks like your dog was sicker than you thought? Huh? Compassion, customer service, knowledge, skill, and down right common sense is something that this place clearly doesn t have. If you are thinking of going here, let me tell you how devastating it is to hold your dog you were told is completely fine die in your arms without any explanation whatsoever. Do not go here!!!!!!!! Highly Recommend: I have had the pleasure of taking my pets to Mukwonago Animal Hospital for over four years. One of my dogs, an english staffy, was extremely ill with an auto immune disease. The compassion that all staff members provided me and my dog during this difficult time was amazing. I regularly received phone calls with results on lab work. I also received calls inquiring for updates on my pet's health. Eventually we lost my dog and we received a very nice letter in the mail from the staff. To this day the staff still remembers my Staffy that I lost over a year ago; it warms my heart that they remember him and makes the loss a little easier. I recommend this location to all my friends and I specifically recommend Dr Tom Herlugson as he has been my main Vet at this clinic. However, over the years I believe that I have met with all of them and received great service with each of them. The front desk staff has also been very helpful to me and they always greet me with a smile and professionalism. I have never posted on any website before, but I felt compelled to after reading the previous post that was given. Read Less

Our experiences with the all the vets at Mukwonago Animal Hospital have been extremely positive. They are, by far, the most caring and compassionate animal doctors we have ever known. We feel good about the care our dogs get at this facility and our dogs seem comfortable with lower stress levels than past vet visits. I read the other comments and have never found the receptionists or office staff to be anything but friendly. A few of them acknowledge our dogs when we arrive and inquire about their overall well-being. I would give this place NEGATIVE stars if possible!! The receptionists are rude, nasty miserable women!! I left a message to speak to the owner and/or office manager!! Guess what, ""NO RESPONSE"" They don't care about the customers or the animals!! All they care about is making money!!! The owner needs to hire people with manners that are capable of smiling!!
